Part two of this fanfic portrays EP 21 ("A Pokévision of Things to Come") in the Pokémon XY anime. Of course we see bits of Serena's feelings for Ash in this one, but Ash is a little bit more observant of her actions.

I do not own Pokemon. That right belongs to Satoshi Tajiri. Each chapter will contain songs that are owned by the mentioned artists.

Day Two

On The Road to Cyllage City

Pokemon Center

Third Person's POV

Now Ash might be one of the most unique minds when battling is involved, but he'd be the first to admit that he is dense when it comes noticing girls and their feeling for him. In fact in most of his travels it had been pointed out to him by a few of his friends quiet often, but since his time in Sinnoh with Dawn he had matured out of this state of mind and had become observant of the little hints and actions of the females around him.

Dawn being the first girl to openly help with the little queues that the girls give to liking a guy, but she openly and quiet bluntly stated that she loved him like a brother. They had developed a sibling type bond throughout their journey in Sinnoh, which helped them grow out of their shells. Of course the first time he noticed a girl flirting with him was in Unova, it was Elisa one of the Gym Leaders there. Prior to that he had noticed May's actions towards him during the Wallace Cup, her longing glances and such, of course he had to tell her that he didn't return her feelings and only saw her as his best friend, which the burnette accepted but gave him a sad smile as they waved their farewells to one another after the cup had ended.

So here he was in a clothing shop waiting for Serena to finish changing her clothes for her Pokévision video. He had opted to go with her, though he would normally complain at the idea of shopping he somehow found that he couldn't deny Serena anything. He realized that he had harbored some sort of affection towards her since their childhood, over the years remembering her his feelings had grown to a strong crush, seeing her now seemed to make these feelings increase.

"What do you think Ash?" Asked the honey blonde beauty as she came out of the changing booth.

Ash shook his head and looked at her. He was transfixed, she looked gorgeous! She wore a pink dress (with the skirt just reaching above the knee), a black fedora, black boots, and a pink bow tie in her hair. Looking like a Princess. She was waiting for his response, he had to say something. He stood walking towards her taking her hand and lifting it over her head, she twirled on instinct.

He smiled and softly said, "You look really pretty Ser."

"T-thanks!" She says her cheeks tinged pink but had a smile on her face.

Ash grinned seeing the blush, "So got everything you need Princess?"

"Y-yeah." She stuttered blushing even more as she almost ran back to the changing booth.

Ash chuckled finding her reaction adorable, Pikachu grinned at the interaction. The electric mouse knew his trainer had feelings for the girl, out of all the girls Ash traveled with he liked Serena the most she had an Aura about her that matched Ash's. He could tell that she'd be good for Ash, and that they'd balance each other out well enough. Serena got out of the dress and changed into her original clothing, stepping out she saw Ash stand and walk towards her taking her hand and interlocking their fingers, she jumped surprised by the action face reddening even more but she didn't pull away.

"Is your mom still Ryhorn racing?" Ash asked on their walked back to the Pokemon Center.

Serena smiled, "No. But she goes to a ranch every once in awhile to teach people who are interested in the sport. She still trains me at home, but so far all I manage is falling on my butt."

"You try to give it your all though, right? If you try then that is all that really matters." Ash says his tone cheery and encouraging.

It caused sparks to run up her spine, "Yeah I did. I never liked the sport because of the training she makes me do, but I also never thought it'd be something I would ever do."

"I've traveled in many different regions and met several people, they've all found their callings through their travels. There was a friend of mine, May. She started out her journey not really knowing anything about Pokemon, she didn't really like them that much because of something that happened when she was a kid." Ash tells her remembering the burnette coordinator.

Serena glanced at him curious, "Why did she start her journey?"

"Well, at first she just wanted to see the world she really had no clear picture as to what she wanted. Later on she found out about Pokemon Contests and went on to become a Coordinator. I think her fear of Pokemon ebbed away as we traveled, she cares for them so much she even managed to hatch an egg and now it's a Glaceon." Ash tells her.

Serena nodded her head, "You know Ash you've always had this ability to motivate others, even when we were kids. I started out my journey wanting to find you, after seeing you save that Garchomp on T.V."

"Team rocket always had best moments to ruin things. Plus, I didn't want Garchomp to be hurt." He says rubbing the back of his head a light blush on his face.

Serena giggled at his reaction, "Somethings never change."

"Serena, you know this whole Pokévision thing might be a step to finding your passion in life. I've been reading some books at the Poke Center and found out about Pokemon Showcases, it seems like a good fit for you." Ash tells her looking into her eyes.

She looked at him surprised at his admission and his revelation. She had herd about Pokemon Showcases and had even watch one as a child, she could vividly remember the grace and beauty of the Pokemon and how the trainers showed their bonds with them. She thought about it, she wasn't really into the hard core battling trainers and gym leaders did, Performing would allow her to show her love for fashion and dance!

"You're right Ash! Maybe I might try out Performing, it seems like a fun thing to do." She tells him a big smile on her face.

Ash grinned squeezing her hand, "You'll do great. Watching some of the past showcases online also showed me how similar some of it is to Pokemon Contests, the only difference is that you actually get to perform with your Pokemon instead of just showing off their moves and characteristics."

They walked in to see that Clemont was ready with his new invention, and Bonnie was sat on on of booths. Serena went to change into her new dress and they walked out to the open field behind the Poke Center. Ash thought she did rather well for her video and showed her growing bond with Fennekin well. Fortunately Clemont's Invented Camera didn't explode, so the video was completed and ready to be edited by the local Pokévision editor. They upload it and watched it again.

Bonnie excitedly stated, "Wow! You did great for you first Pokévision video Serena. Adorable and beautiful all at once, and Fennekin really showed off her cuteness as well."

"Bonnie's right! Of course, and it also shows your growing bond with Fennekin the way she trusts you as a trainer." Clemont adds smiling.

Serena blushed but smiled happily,"Thanks everyone!"

Ash smiled softly, seeing her happy at her success warmed his heart. Serena was shy and somewhat reserved around others, he remembered how she only got along with him and Leaf back at the Summer Camp, Gary kept making fun of how skittish she was and that annoyed him to no end. Though Leaf would tease them for their closeness, she wasn't as mean about it as Gary was.

"How about we stay here for the night? I am sure tomorrow morning would be a more ideal time to travel." Ash suggested looking at the window which showed the setting.

Clemont nodded, "That would be ideal."

"Getting lost could be a risk at night. It's hard to see through the darkness." Pointed out Serena softly, she wasn't keen on getting lost in the forest again.

Ash too her hand in his squeezing it, "Don't worry Serena, we'll be watching out for each other this entire journey. And I'll make sure that none of us gets lost in the forest."

"T-thanks Ash." She whispered squeezing his hand in return grateful for his reassurance.

Seems like our heroes are now resting for the night. The honey blonde girl thinking about her raven haired best friend and all they've been through. She wondered if she could ever gain the courage to tell him what she really felt. It seems as if he's been responding to her actions, but she didn't want to get her hopes up.

Oh Ash I've fallen for you. I've fallen for my best friend. She thought as she closed her eyes sleep engulfing her.

Second chapter done! What did you think? So Ash is more observant than in canon, and Serena is still somewhat the same in regards to her actions and responses towards him. Ash is starting to figure out his feelings for her, of course he tries to clue her in on them from time to time as well.

Up next, Serena meet a potential rival in more than just talent. Hehe, jealousy.

Lucky

by: Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Caillat

Do you hear me, I'm talking to you

Across the water across the deep blue ocean

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying

Boy, I hear you in my dreams

I feel your whisper across the sea

I keep you with me in my heart

You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh...
