After passing a little, the archaeologist reached a conclusion. He need to meet Jack face to face and had a serious talk with him.

Daniel picked his cell and called Jack's personal number. Surprisingly he picked up.

"Hi Daniel. I've to be in a meeting in ten minutes", Jack said while signing a budget proposal.

"Hello Jack. Free for lunch?" asked Daniel.

"Sorry, no. Day full of meetings" he said signing another paper Margaret had put in front of him.

"Ok, what time are you expecting to finish there?" he asked trying to keep calm.

"I really don't know…" Jack said.

"Guess, Jack!" Daniel tone was now more sharp.

Jack stop signing.

"Anything in your mind Danny boy?" he asked curious.

"I want to talk to you and not here at your house. So pick the time and place, Jack" Daniel almost ordered.

Lt. General Jack O'Neil wasn't used of taking orders from many people and Daniel Jackson was certainly not one of those. But he could imagine why Daniel would want to talk o him.

"I'll see my schedule again and talk back to you, ok?" he asked.

"I'll be waiting" Daniel said and hung up.

Surprised, Jack stood a couple a seconds with his cell in his hand until he put it down in his desk.

"Margaret, can you find me one to two hours free in my schedule? Even if I have to go home later, no problem" he said continuing to sign the papers.

"I'll have a look General, it won't be easy" she said taking the papers back.

"Do your best. I really need it" he said taking his reading glasses and rubbing his eyes.

"Ah…General? Margaret look at him hesitantly.

"Yes?"

"Ms. Kerry Johnson from CIA has keep calling to talk to you, several times. Do you want to kept telling that you are busy?" she asked blushing slightly.

"Yes, no calls from Ms. Johnson. Ever again, Margaret. Or meetings. Pass them all to Major Paul Davis" he ordered.

"Yes sir" Margaret said with a smile. That was a ordered she was most happy to follow.

A couple hours later Jack called Daniel back.

"Hi Daniel. I have a break in half an hour. We can meet at my office or somewhere near here. I can't go too far" he said.

"Ok Jack I can go to your office, no problem. I'll be there as soon as a manage. Bye", he said.

Daniel arrived at the Pentagon and after the necessarily security check ups and clearances he was escorted to Jack's office. Strangely he noticed that his secretary was absent. He knocked at his office door and Jack opened inviting him in.

"Alone?", Daniel asked sitting in the couch.

"I thought it would be better for the talk you want to have with me" he said siting in the chair in front of the couch. The same positions he and Sam had taken not so long ago.

"So you know why I want to talk to you?" Daniel asked coldly.

"I suspect" Jack admitted.

"Not playing dumb this time, Jack?" Daniel tried to push him.

"No point this time", he simply admitted.

"You don't deserve her", Daniel simply said merely noticing a fact.

"I knew that the moment I felt in love with her", Jack admitted again.

"And even so you managed to hurt her like no one else ever did" he said slowly.

"Yes, I apparently did", he stated.

"Not apparently, Jack. She's hurt as I've never seen her before. Not even when Jacob died, not even when she speaks about her mother died and we both know how painful those both events were to her. She's devastated" Daniel explained in case he hadn't realized the depth of his wife pain.

Jack closed his eyes. He knew he had hurt her but didn't know how deep. It had taken Daniel to realize that. Sometimes he was jealous of that friendship.

"I know I screw up thinks, Daniel. I'm trying to set them rights" he tried to explain.

"Are you? Are you really, Jack? How far are you willing to go to save you marriage?" he asked curious.

"Whatever it takes" he said truthfully.

Daniel's face wasn't a very convinced one "Really?

"Yes, I tried to present my resignation to the President. He didn't accept", Jack said taking an invisible hair from his trousers.

Daniel was surprised. Apparently Sam was not the only one thinking of resignation. Jack had already taking a step too far.

"Well Sam is also thinking of resigning her commission…" Daniel left the information in the air.

Jack got of the chair as if it had spikes.

"WHAT?!" he yelled. "WHAT ARE YOU TALNING ABOUT?!" he asked his eyes wide open and almost black.

"She mentioned that possibility this morning while we're talking" he said.

"Well she never said nothing to me!" he said passing around in the office

"Would you let her?" he asked curious.

"That's a stupid question, Daniel and you know it!" he barked immediate.

"Had to try though…" Daniel admitted with a smile.

"Why the fuck Kerry, Jack?" What were you thinking?" he asked finally.

"The million-dollar question…" Jack murmured getting back to the chair.

Daniel waited in silence.

"I was lonely, I missed Sam like crazy and Kerry was there. I'm a guy. A stupid one. I couldn't keep it in my pants, Daniel. I betrayed everything I promised Sam. I feel the lowest human being of the universe and if she leaves me I don't think I'll have the strength to carry on. It's like Charlie's all over again but worse. She's my everything, Daniel. She was the reason I started to get back to life after Abydoos, the reason I carry on SG-1 all those years even without being able to be real with her, she's my air and my earth. Without her I'm not whole. I can't lose her" Jack admitted his eyes almost feel with tears.

Daniel knew his friend for many years and had passed many things with him, ascending, torture, everything imaginable and imaginable and knew deep in his heart that Jack was being dead serious. If Sam left him, he would become suicidal again.

"I don't think she wants to leave you, Jack but she's very hurt", Daniel said.

"And I don't know how to take that hurt from her" Jack said almost shouting.

"You'll have to be patient and you'll have to win her back again" Daniel offered.

"You mean romance her?" Jack asked confused.

"Yes, Jack. You have to seduce your wife again, as from the beginning. She has to fell in love with you again. And then she may trust you again" Daniel offered.

Jack blinked several times. The idea was a little ridiculous but Daniel had more knowledge of these things than him so Jack would take whatever advice he could get.

"Ok" he simply said.

"She's staying in Earth almost two months. Take advantage of it. I know you have lots of responsibilities as Head of HomeWorld but you have only one wife. I suggest you thing carefully what comes first right know" Daniel told him wisely.

It was as a light was switch in Jack's brain. Nothing else mater. He was getting his wife back. Oh yes, he was. He knew her as no man knew her and he taking plenty advantage of that. Samantha Carter-O'Neill was about to fell in love. Again.

"Thanks, Danny. I really need this talk", Jack gave a hug to a surprised Daniel.

"Your welcome, Jack", he said.

"After the White House gala, I'm taking Sam to the cabin for a couple days. No distractions. Just us" he said as he was suddenly alone in the room.

"Ok, good plan" Daniel said.

Suddenly there was knock in the door and Margaret put her head in the entrance.

"Sorry to interrupt, General but Senator Williams has arrived and is waiting", she said apologizing.

"I'm already done here. I leave" said Daniel.

"Thanks Daniel", Jack said again shaking his friend hand.

Daniel left a little better then when he entered.
