A/N: Thanks for the reviews.
Baratta jennifer - Thanks!
"So those journals are made up of several formulae, and in that journal your father's work is marked with your family crest?" Alex asked pointing to a journal as she and her sister sat in her office a few days later.
"Yes."
"But not the others." Alex said. "But we know your father was involved in some of those, so why not have his crest there?"
"None of this makes sense." Kara said. "Do we know why Lane still had that one?"
"Maybe. He claims he recognised the crest so decided to keep it. He half hoped it was a way to kill Superman and half feared it was a way to make him stronger."
"You don't believe that?"
"No, but more importantly, Lucy doesn't believe that." Alex said.
"Why?"
"She says she knows her father is lying."
"Did she press him on it?"
"She's tried. But you've met him." Alex shrugged. "But she said she'll keep at him."
"Do we know more about when it was written?"
"Yes and no. But mainly no. The ink in that journal seems different to the others, but we can't say more than that."
"Worldkiller-1." Kara suddenly said.
"What?"
"Was there anything on Worldkiller-1 in there?"
"Not that we've seen. Why?"
"Whoever wrote these journals had access to my father's research. Shouldn't Worldkiller-1 be in there?"
"Maybe there is another journal?" Alex asked as Kara's phone rang.
"I better take this." Kara said not recognising the number before answering. "Kara Danvers … yes … is there a problem? … okay … when … okay, I'll be right there." She said before ending the call.
"What's wrong?" Alex asked looking up at her sister.
"That was the school. Alex's guidance councillor wants to see me."
"Why?"
"She didn't say. I better go. I'll see you tonight."

"Hi guys." Kara greeted as she came into the apartment and saw the three teens late that afternoon.
"Hi mom." Alex greeted.
"How was school?" Kara asked.
"Sucked." MJ said. "Seeing your fridge is empty we are going to my place to get food, are you going to join us?" MJ asked his aunt.
"Absolutely, but can you two go on ahead? I need to talk to Alex." Kara said.
"Sure." MJ said before looking at his cousin and mouthing. "What have you done?"
"I'll see you over there." The teenage Alex said to Martin and MJ, who took the hint and left. The remaining teen then looked at her mother and asked. "What's wrong?"
"I got called in to the school today."
"Why?"
"Your guidance councillor is worried about you."
"Why? My grades are fine."
"They are better than fine and that is why she is concerned about your college choices. She said you were considering local community colleges."
"We can't afford anything else."
"What?" Kara asked.
"College, it's really expensive. And the applications cost money and-"
"None of that is for you to worry about." Kara said. "I'll figure it out."
"But it ends up being another thing for you to worry about."
"This one I am more than happy to worry about."
"Fine, I'll add NCU."
"Are you worried about leaving me by myself?" Kara asked. "Because you shouldn't."
"It's not that. I mean it is a little, but not really."
"Then what is it?"
"Chewie."
"What?" Kara asked lost.
"You said he's my responsibility."
"Well I let you off that when you are in college. Chewie and I will take care of each other."
"My fish." Alex said.
"I can also look after them." Kara said.
"What's the point in college? I mean it isn't going to teach me anything about using my powers." Alex argued.
"True but it is a life experience and a degree will help you find a job."
"What if I want to be a Superhero?"
"Well that doesn't pay the bills." Kara said.
"Which is stupid."
"If you had seen the Boys you wouldn't think that." Kara said.
"The Boys? TV show?" The teen guessed.
"Yes, and don't watch it, not suitable for your delicate eyes." Kara said before saying. "No more skating round, what is really driving your college choices?"
"I've told you."
"No, you have told me a whole bunch of things which may contribute, but you haven't told me the real reason. So what's wrong?" Kara asked.
"You'll think it's stupid or disappointing."
"I won't." Kara said. "What's wrong?"
"I've never been without you. Before Earth it was always just us and I know now it isn't but you are still always there. I'm scared of not having you there."
"Alex, you have nothing to be scared of. You are brave and smart. Your whole life has been learning new cultures and fitting in and you can do that at college. And you don't need me for that."
"I guess." The teen said unconvinced.
"I won't always be around." Kara pointed out. "And you will need to be independent. Better to do that now. But if you ever need me I can be there in minutes." Kara said. "But you don't need to decide now. For now all you have to do is apply."

"Why are you here?" Alex asked her sister as she and the teenage Alex entered the house a few minutes later.
"MJ said there was food." Kara pointed out.
"Yeah, but Lena will be at your place in twenty minutes." Her sister pointed out.
"Lena? Shoot I forgot."
"I figured." Her sister said. "Come on let's go." She then turned to the trio and said. "Make sure there is a house to come back to." She and Kara then left. Once they were gone MJ and Martin turned to the teenage Alex and asked.
"So what had you done?"
"Ms Wolochek complained about my college choices."
"Why where'd you say you wanted to go?" MJ asked.
"Local community colleges."
"Why?" Martin asked confused.
"Cost."
"Except with your grades you could get a scholarship." Martin said.
"You worried about leaving your mom?" MJ asked.
"She doesn't do well alone."
"She wouldn't be alone." MJ countered. "She'd have mom and Lena and Steve and J'onn." He listed before guessing. "Are you scared of not being near your mom?"
"What if I lose control?"
"You have the necklace." MJ countered.
"You saw me last time, I broke the inhibitors then."
"This one is stronger." MJ said.
"Besides, can't your mom fly anywhere?" Martin asked.
"Not if she is hurt." Alex pointed out.
"If anything happens one of us will come to you." MJ said. "You won't be alone."

"Do you think I have been too over protective of Alex?" Kara asked as she her sister and Lena sat round the coffee table that evening. When no one responded she asked. "Am I talking an alien language?"
"Sorry?" Her sister asked.
"Why are you two not answering my question?"
"Oh you were serious?" Lena asked.
"Yes, I'm serious." Kara said.
"And you want an honest answer?" Alex asked.
"Why are you two dodging the question?"
"Because it feels like a loaded question." Alex said.
"How can it be a loaded question?"
"The answer is obviously yes, so if you asking the question it implies you still want to deny it and fight about it or you genuinely have only just realised it indicating that you sustained more head injuries than we thought." Lena summarised.
"What's happened?" Her sister asked.
"Alex was only going to apply for local colleges because she was too scared of living alone." Kara said.
"It will be a big change for her." Lena said.
"Alex will be fine. She might just need a little push." Her sister said. "You were scared of leaving Midvale."
"Precisely and that was despite having you." Kara said. "It is hard enough fitting in when you have someone helping. She'll be all alone."
"How many planets did she have to adapt to growing up?" Lena asked.
"Lots."
"Plus she has adapted to high school. If she can do that college will be a breeze." Lena said.
"I hope so." Kara said. "I just feel bad for not noticing she was feeling so anxious."
"You have a lot on." Alex reminded her.
"All of which I have made no progress on, so I am a failure all round." Kara said miserably.
"You aren't a failure." Lena said. "And if you want help with anything you only have to ask."
"I appreciate that, but you are busy too."
"Friends are more important than boards." Lena said.
