The story continues as we return to Ant Island 3 years after the events of A Bug's Life. Flik's Colony enjoyed independence from the grasshoppers since Hopper's death. But, an unknown enemy acting on Hopper's behalf threatens to destroy Flik. Now Flik has to use all his tricks and enlist the help of both old and new friends to stop the grasshoppers once and for all.

Turns out the nest wasn't the end. In some ways, Flik and Atta were torn apart, too.

Flik has left the colony, and it's all Atta's fault. Now she's left wondering what to do to fix this and the mistakes she had made in the past. Meanwhile, a group of bugs from the colony's past had come back for revenge, now that Hopper is dead and the grasshoppers had been driven out. What can Atta do to help save her colony from these vengeful bugs?

After Dot convinces Flik to return to the colony, she finds herself having to tell the story of how she learned to fly.

(This is a remake!)… After the (seemed-to-be) death of Hopper, the colony was finally free for many years. They no longer need to waste time gathering food for the grasshoppers and being tortured! But, what they didn’t know was that Hopper managed to escape the bird before he could get killed! And now since he is back, he wants to get revenge on the everyone who tried to kill him!

After surviving his final encounter with Hopper, Flik wakes up in the hospital wing to a visitor.

One night Princess Atta mysteriously shows up where Flik lives and comes to stay. Sleep Together.

Flik has been a part of P.T. Flea's Circus for all five years of his memory. As a result of a curse, all that remains of his original self is the basic framework of a soul that keeps him alive. He loves his very strange family, smothering as some can be, but he longs to know what once filled the gaps in his heart and, later, where a Princess fits in it. *Fantasy/Humanized AU*

Flik may have screwed up Hopper's plan to regain control of the colony, but then a certain small princess stumbles into the grasshopper's clutches and he's not going to let her go until he has what he wants. Re-imagined ending to A Bug's Life, inspired by a piece of concept art.

Why cut from Hopper's death directly to the following spring? There are several scenes that the movie glosses over, so this is my version of what occurs between those two scenes in the movie. More chapters coming! Update: Chapter 8 is out! Let me know what you think!
