"Father Please!!!" Luke cries as Anakin stood there watching on in disbelief. He was on a pedestal surrounded by lava and black fog as images began forming around him.
Tuning his gaze to the left he saw Obi Wan lightsaber ignited looking at him in mental pain with tears streaming from his eyes. "You were my brother Anakin!"
With a quick jolt he felt a soft hand grab his shoulder. "No, stop come back!" Padmé's voice says causing him to look at her tear filled face. "I love you!" To his right he heard the mechanical breathing.
As he turned once again he saw the Emperor's face looking at him in concern.
"It seems, in your anger... you, killed her." He says. The vision of the emperor fades as a new vision of a viewports from within the Death Star fades in. Through it he could see Alderaan.
Next to him was Leia looking at him in horror. "No!" She pleads to him. "Alderaan is peaceful, we have no weapons, you can't..." A green Laser blast cuts her off as Alderaan is destroyed.
Anakin stumbles back tears streaming from his own face as other voices begin plaguing his mind. "Anakin Please!!!" Padmé's voice rings out. "Master Skywalker there are too many of them. What are we going to do?" A childs voice says. Finally he looks to see the Emperor towering over him in anger.
"The Force is strong with you!" He shouts before blasting him with a storm of Force Lightning.
Anakin wakes in his sleeping bag, sweat pouring down his face. Their Face's, Their Voices, He can remember them all. All of the men, women, and children he slaughtered in cold blood. All of those he hurt. Obi Wan, Luke, Leia, Mace Windu, Shaak-Ti, Madam Jacosta, Cin, The Younglings, and his angel Padme, the list goes on and on. All of them suffered because of me.
Anakin gets up, noticing it will be morning in about an hour. He decides that he'll pack his things up and get ready for initiation. He wraps up the sleeping bag, grabs his robes and walks over to the changing room. Once changed, He puts his night wear in his bag and walks to the lockers. They were given lockers yesterday by Glasses, where Anakin finally found out that her name is actually Glenda. He grabs his Lightsabers and belt while putting his things in the locker. Before he closes it, He grabs the Scroll thing The students were given and checks the time. 6:00 am. The Scroll is an object that functions as a collapsible, holographic tablet. It is capable, among other things, to function as a phone, a portable computer, a camera and a streaming device as well as a gaming controller. Glad I memorized that from Glynda, I'll try to figure out the written language here with this thing. At some point. The thought left him with an odd sense of confusion. He reaches into a pocket pulling out a wallet and looks at the ID he had woken up with in this world. He found that he could read it perfectly yet turning on his scroll he couldn't make out the words on the holographic screen. It was odd and confusing.
Shaking his head Anakin decides to head to the cliff stuffing his wallet and Scroll into his pocket. He overheard some second years talking about it the day before. It wasn't far from the school. When he get there he could see a bunch of metal platforms in the ground. He ignores them and sits on the ledge looking down into the vast forest below. It went on for miles filled with bright green trees and grassy hills. Soon he found himself looking up and watching the sun rise. While he sits there he thinks back to what has happened since waking up in this odd world. Soon his thoughts went to the gap in his memory from yesterday.
A monster Rex had said. There was no doubt in Anakin's mind as to what happened. He turned into Darth Vader. The one name he never wanted to hear again. The name that he will always be remembered by. The name that brought nothing but pain, for his son, his daughter, his brother and mentor, and his wife. When Rex told him that he turned into that monster again, all of the pain came back to him. As he sat here watching the sun rise, his thoughts drift to his son and daughter again. What are they doing, how are they, are they happy?
"Its beautiful, isn't it?" Ozpin's voice says cutting through his thoughts. Anakin turns to see Ozpin and Glenda walking over. Ozpin looks over to Glenda and she nods leaving them. Ozpin, coffee mug in hand walks over and sits on the ledge beside the troubled Anakin. Anakin could smell the hot chocolate in the coffee mug.
"It almost looks like the ones I've seen..." He pauses almost forgetting the cover story. "From a place called Naboo." Anakin decides.
"You look like your worried about something." Ozpin says ignoring Anakin's statement. Anakin was a little shocked he saw it, but he was not going to lie to him. I'm getting tired of all the lies. Anakin thought.
"I'm worried I'll become what I use to be." Anakin explains vaguely. Glancing at Ozpin's face he could see the older man intrigued expression.
"Well, are you trying to stop that?" Ozpin asks.
"Y-yes." Anakin answers a little hesitant.
Ozpin takes a sip from his coffee mug before he responds. "Then you will be fine." He assures.
"How can you be so sure" Anakin questions.
"Because your past doesn't define who you are," Ozpin explains. "It just gives you the starting point for who your going to be."
A while later, Rex woke up to some girl yelling. "Wake up lazy bud!" When she yelled he shot up from his sleeping bag and drew his blasters at her out of pure reflex. She didn't even notice as she was pestering some kid in green with black hair plus a single strand of pink.
He holsters his blasters and got up. Looks like I fell asleep in my Armor... or what armor I have anyways. The chest Piece is comfortable, and the most important, so having that as the only piece he has is perfect. Though Rex did hope to rebuild his helmet again. With those thoughts Rex packed up the sleeping bag and went to the locker room to place the bag in his locker. Afterwards he went to the canteen for some breakfast rations. When he got there, he realized they didn't have rations, but actual food. Suffice to say it was gone real quick. Afterwards Rex just wandered the courtyard till Glenda called for everyone. He was told to meet at the cliff, so that's where he went.
Everyone met at the cliff, and they were told to stand on the metal platforms on the ground. It took Rex and Anakin a second but they figured out that they were launch pads much to Anakin's amusement and Rex's growing dread. Ozpin was giving everyone the details along with Glenda.
"For years you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin starts.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams." Glenda informs. "Well, let us put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... Today."
Upon this Ruby began complaining to herself as Ozpin continued the explanation "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." At this Rex looks to Anakin who looks nervous. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."
"What?!?" Anakin and Ruby shout in unison with a sound coming in. Did I just Hear glass shattering. Rex thought
Pancake Girl looks to the kid in green before saying "See? I told you."
Ozpin continues to explain Initiation. "After You've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die. you will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"
Jaune and Rex start to raise their hands as Jaune starts to ask "Yeah, um sir?"
"Good! Now, take your positions."
I'm starting to get worried. I can't survive a fall like this! Rex thought."Um Sir? I've got a question." Rex states. Student's start getting launched one by one.
Jaune interrupts "So, this landing strategy thing, uh, w-what is it? You're, like dropping us off or something?"
"No. You will be falling." Ozpin assures taking a sip from his mug.
Rex continues. "Uh, Sir? I can't survive a fall at this height"
"You'll be fine, just devise your own landing strategy." Ozpin says with a bored expression. Rex looks over to Anakin. He just gives a smirk and a two finger salute as he's launched.
"What do you MEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!?!!!" Rex got launched during his question. Here I am souring through the air. Never thought I'd die like this. Rex thought. Then again I guess I should be used to this by now.
Rex was interrupted from his thoughts of dying as his leg got grabbed by something, liquid? He is then pulled down slowly till he is on the ground, laying flat on his back. He just stares up at the sky. A girl leans into view as she begins to speak.
"Are you ok?" She asks with worry visible on her face. She has long blond hair with a blue flower. She wear's a light blue t-shirt with a white long sleeve jacket and jeans. Her eyes baby blue, and her skin pale.
"Uh, Yeah. Just... a little shook up is all." She seems to accept this and offers her hand to help Rex up, which he gladly accepts. Once he's up Rex figures he should introduce himself seeing as this is now his teammate "The names Rex."
"Lilly." She introduces.
Back at the launch pads, just before everyone is launched Anakin feels a little bit of pity for Rex. "No. You will be falling." I'm sure Rex will figure something out. Anakin thought
"Uh, Sir? I can't survive a fall at this height"
"You'll be fine, just devise your own landing strategy." Anakin looks over to Rex, and just gives a smirk with a two finger salute as he is launched. As he flys through the air he quickly uses the force to brace himself and land safely... somewhere. He was worried at first due to his abilities recent habits of being weaker or acting up. He shakes the thought from his head as he decides to keep going forward pretty sure the abandoned temple is that way. After walking for five minutes he begins to hear rustling in the bushes around him. He uses the force and begins to sense one massive creature. He takes a look in its direction and then ignites his blue saber. He waits for the beast to strike as the rustling gets louder and then... a rabbit jumps out? Anakin lowers his weapon and scratches his head.
"I could have sworn what I sensed was way bigger." He says to himself. Had his abilities with the force failed him again since coming here. Anakin begins to walk over, but stops dead in his tracks as a massive black snake eats the rabbit. Anakin immediately gets into a defensive stance. "Well... This is where the fun begins!" Anakin begins to rush the snake going to slash at its head, but it dodges at incredible speed. He then went to try again only to be wacked by its tail, sending him through a tree. Sitting up with a groan he finds that he is confusingly uninjured. "What... how... never mind." He decides not to question how he is uninjured yet, and go for another attack this time focusing, using the Force to predict its retaliation. It works as he jumps onto its tail and run to its head slicing it off.
The body goes limp and Anakin deactivates his weapon. He gets ready to press on to the temple, but something just doesn't feel right. Anakin looks back just in time to dodge a giant white snake's bite. He then ignites his saber again before running to a tree with the new snake close behind. Anakin slashes the tree causing it to fall, and then dodges anther strike from the new snake by jumping onto the collapse log. The new snake recovers an gets ready to strike, but Anakin jump off the log and use the Force to toss the log at the new snake as a distraction, which worked. Taking advantage of this opportunity Anakin runs to the new snakes head and slices it.
As it falls limp the body begins to disintegrate. "That's new." Anakin states to himself. Anakin begins to start walking in the direction he was originally headed, but stops when he hears gunfire. "Why not." He says to himself as he begin heading to the source. When he got there he saw a kid with short bright red hair and wearing a black tux wielding a Spear... Gun... Thing. He is surrounded by about thirty massive wolves. "Hey! You need help!"
"Yeah, I'd vary much appreciate it!" He responds while slicing a wolf that charged in. Anakin Force jumps to the center getting back to back with the guy, and igniting his saber. The wolves just circle the duo while they wait wait for the wolves to strike. "Got a plan?" The kid asks.
"Slice and Dice?" Anakin suggests. The kid gives a chuckle as the duo waits. Three Wolves charge Anakin and he quickly Sliced there heads clean off. The others all charge in, and it gives Anakin a brilliant idea. "DUCK!" The kid does so as Anakin Throws his saber, and using the Force guide it through all wolves in the area leaving nothing but there disintegrating body's. Anakin than caught his saber and deactivated it, placing it on his belt. He then turns to the kid and they shake hands "Thanks for trusting me."
"No problem, thanks for the help." The kid says. Anakin noticed him glance to the deactivated lightsaber with a look of interest before shaking his head and focusing on Anakin. "The names Crimson Vrudus, and you are?"
"Anakin Skywalker. Looks like your my new teammate."
"So it would seem." Crimson says with a smirk.
"Alright, lets go find that temple, and get back to the cliff." Anakin states.
"Agreed"
In another part of the forest Lilly and Rex began walking to where they think the temple is meeting no opposition along the way. They were walking though some brush as a thorn cuts Rex's leg. "Sith!" Rex cursed getting the girls attention.
"Are you alright?" She asks.
"Yeah, its just a cut." Rex assures. She looks at the cut then back at him with a look of confusion.
"Why didn't you activate your Aura?" She asks, getting Rex to look at her in confusion.
"Aura?"
"You don't know what Aura is?"
"Can't say that i do." This seems to make her understand though she gave him an odd look.
"Well, Aura is the manifestation of our soul, it protects us like...uh... like a force field, or a shield for your Heart and body if practiced correctly. Everyone, even animals have it"
"What about these monsters I keep hearing about?" Rex asks earning another odd look.
"No, the monsters we fight lack a soul. They are Creatures of Grimm. The manifestation of anonymity. They are the darkness and we are the light." She answers. So glad I memorized that lecture. Lilly thought to herself.
"And thats why we're supposed to fight them, right?" Rex asks.
"Right. I can help you unlock yours if you want." Lilly suggests.
"Well... sure, just tell me what I got to do" Rex was hesitant but he knew she'd been on this world longer.
"Ok, close your eyes and concentrate." She orders.
"Uhh, alright." Rex says. He dose what she asked and he can feel her hand grab his shoulder.
"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee." She lets go and Rex opens his eyes. She looked like she was in pain.
"You alright?" Rex asks helping her regain balance on her feet.
"I'm Fine. I used my aura to unlock yours, but the energy that protects you now is your own." After she assures me shes alright Rex notices that the cut doesn't hurt anymore. He looks to see its healing, vary fast.
In another part of the forest Pyrrha and Jaune walk. However Pyrrha halts. "Huh, I've just got this strange feeling like I've been quoted" Pyrrha says while Jaune finishes making his torch
"What makes you say that?" Jaune asks.
"I'm not sure, its just a feeling."
"Well ok then, lets get into this temple then." Jaune responds, gesturing to a cave.
Anakin and Crimson had finally made it to the ruins to see a team already there. Yang and Edgy Girl from yesterday
"That wasn't so hard." Yang says.
"Well, its not like this place is very difficult to find." The Edgy Girl responds
Crimson and Anakin run over. "Hey!" Anakin yells getting there attention. It succeeds, and they wait for the duo to get to them. When they do Yang speaks up.
"Hey Anakin." Yang starts with a smirk. "Nice to see that you made it."
"Yeah, Like wise." Anakin noticed them look at Crimson, likely waiting for introduction's. "Oh, this is Crimson."
"A pleasure to meet you" He says with a bow.
"Same here. I'm Yang and this is Blake."
"Alright, now tha-" Anakin gets interrupted by...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Some girl screaming.
"Some girl is in trouble!" Yang says. Anakin noticed a shadow on the ground and decide to look up, only to see Ruby and Ice Queen hanging onto a massive bird. Just then He hears...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"Rex?" Anakin mutters.
Rex and Lily were travailing a bit longer with no resistance, and couldn't help thinking that something is off. "Hey?" Rex asks.
"Yeah?"
"Don't you think we should have run into something or some one by now?" She was about to say something but was interrupted by the ground shaking. "I just had to ask." Rex sighs, mentally slamming my head on a table. The ground shakes again as they look to see what's causing it. That's when they see a massive bird Grimm land. Its just stays standing there watching the duo. Lilly and Rex draw their weapons. Her's are a set of Tomahawks that change into shotguns.
"Ive got a bad feeling about this" Just as she said that, The Grimm lunged its beak at them getting stuck in the ground, and Rex began shooting it. The bolts were definitely hurting it but it was not doing enough. He then runs between its legs and jump onto its feathered tail.
After Rex had jumped onto the tail of the the bird Grimm named Nevermore, Lily noticed it looked like Rex was trying to climb up its back. She decided to help him using her semblance but she warns him first. "Rex I'm going to push you up to the back!"
"Alright, launch me!"
When he heard her warning he prepared to be Force Pushed, but then what felt like water shot him forward to the neck. She over shot a bit from were she was trying to send him but this worked for Rex... well until the Grimm got its head out of the ground launching him into the air. At this Rex could only do one thing.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
