Clara, Misfits & Flying Race!

"Oh man, I am beat," Izuku said as he lay on the ground while looking at the orange sky. Then he looked to his side and saw Clara still bursting with energy as she searched through her pile of dangerous but fun things, "I wonder where she gets all that energy from?"

"Hey, you Okies there?" Clara asked while she tried to balance herself on a ball.

"Yeah, I am fine... a little tired maybe but I will live," Izuku said as he got himself off the ground.

"Izukun," Clara said and tapped on the yellow smiley face pockets on her skirt and a bottle of soda popped up, "here juice, I have snacks too!"

"Wait! Where did that come from?" Izuku asked.

"It's my bloodline magic," Clara explained as she produced more toys from her pocket, "I can produce anything I have seen before."

"So you are telling me that you can recreate anything you have seen once in your life," Izuku slowly asked.

"Yep!" Clara replied.

Izuku nodded as a distant look appeared in his eyes, "and here I thought Momo's quirk was broken, how naive I was."

Meanwhile, Clara who was standing next to him didn't understand what Izuku was saying so she just shrugged and started spinning around him.

Eventually, Izuku snapped out of that and picked up his bag, "school is almost over, we should go home now."

And then when he was about to walk away he felt a tug on his sleeve. He turned around and saw Clara shyly standing next to him while tugging on his sleeve.

"Will you... play with me again?" she asked and Izuku was genuinely taken aback.

Firstly he felt really sad to see how little confidence and hope she had when she asked that question as if she was expecting him to say no and the other reason is the fact that for a second he saw his younger self in her. He remembered how he used to play with other children only for them to turn him down the next day because someone told them that he was quirkless.

That's why when he saw that same look in Clara's eyes he felt a weird pain in his heart to see someone so nice have to go through that.

And then as he was going to answer her question someone showed up.

"Hey Clara, come here for a second," a random boy appeared out of nowhere and started talking to Clara in a commanding tone which Izuku found... very unsettling.

"Wait! Who is this? Clara, did you find a new owner or something?" the boy snickered, "well it's not like I care, so just give me a can of juice."

'Izuku, I don't like him,' Nana said in a venomous tone.

'Yeah, I know," Izuku replied, and as soon as Clara started walking towards the boy he instinctively grabbed her hand and stood in front of her.

"If you want to drink something go and buy it for yourself," Izuku said to the boy.

"Huh?" the boy asked with an annoyed frown, "come on honor boy, stop monopolizing her and let me get some stuff too."

In response all Izuku said was a single word, "leave."

"What?" the boy flinched a little but still tried to hold his ground, "wait did you-"

"I. Said. Leave," this time Izuku used a low and intimidating voice while green sparks swirled around his body.

"Tsk," the boy grumbled under his breath, "fine keep her to yourself, it's not like I care about that stupid girl anyway," he shouted and walked away.

Once Izuku was sure that the boy was gone for good, he turned around only to see Clara... was crying on the ground.

'Wait! Why is she crying? Was she friends with that guy?' Izuku panicked and started thinking absurd things.

'Of course, not idiot,' Nana scolded him.

"Why?" Clara asked while sobbing.

"Huh?" Izuku didn't understand what she was saying.

"Why did you do that? Now he won't play with me," she said while crying.

"Clara," Izuku crouched down to her level, "he was not going to play with you. He just wanted free stuff."

"I am not stupid. I know, nobody will play with me unless I give them free stuff," Clara said, "it's a fee to put up with me."

Izuku honestly had no idea how he should handle this situation. Her mindset reminded him about his own mindset in regard to bullying in school.

"Clara please listen to me," Izuku took her hands in his, "anyone who doesn't want to play with you is an idiot," Izuku said and that worked as Clara stopped crying and looked at him with teary eyes, "to tell you the truth, it has been so long since I had this much fun. And it was not because of the toys you produced... no, it was because playing with Clara is fun."

"Really!?" she asked with a beautiful smile.

"I mean you do go overboard sometimes," Izuku said while rubbing the back of his neck, "but that is also part of the experience that is playing with you," then he looked into her eyes and asked, "so Clara do you want to become my friend and play with me again?"

"Yes!" Clara jumped in the air and started rolling around for a few minutes before she stopped and asked, "this is the first time someone has asked me to play! What should we do Izukun? Oh by the way what is a friend?"

'Oh boy,' Izuku thought as he prepared himself for another explanation.

:-:-:-:-:-:

While Izuku was explaining to Clara what a friend was. The boy Izuku just intimidated a few minutes ago was walking in a hallway while stomping his feet and had an angry frown on his face.

After a few minutes of feet stomping he arrived at a certain set of stairs where two other boys were waiting for him.

"Hey dude, took you long enough," one of the boys said, "and where is the juice? Did you not find her?"

"Actually," then he narrated everything that happened before, "that's why we are going to get our revenge on the honor student by beating him to a pulp. That will teach him not to steal our stuff."

"Hey wait a moment," the other boy said, "are you sure about attacking him? I mean, rumors say that he fought Asmodeus to draw and summoned a huge familiar which was never recorded in the history of the underworld. Can we really defeat someone like that?"

"I know that already," the first boy said with a bitter face, "that's why we are going to avoid a direct fight with him and ambush him when he is not expecting us. Besides no matter how strong he is, the three of us can manage it together."

"So, first you tricked and exploited an innocent girl into giving you free things, and then when someone told you to stop you decided to attack him," a female voice interrupted their conversation.

"Yeah, so? It's none of -" the boy stopped midsentence because as soon as he turned around he saw the president of the student council Ameri Azazel standing there with a girl with pink skin and yellow horns and the other was a boy with black and white hair, "Student Council President? What is-" but he could speak another sentence an overhead kick smacked onto his head.

"You two," Ameri then addressed the two boys who were standing there while looking at the interaction with wide eyes, "if I ever saw you three exploiting another student or doing any kind of misconduct you will face the wrath of the entire student council, am I clear?"

The two students rapidly nodded their heads and then took the third boy to the infirmary when Ameir allowed them to.

"Well, that's one less trouble to deal with," Ameri said as she watched the two boys running away while carrying the third boy, "now then Smoke," Ameri addressed the pink girl beside her, "do we need to talk with honor student as well?"

"No, I don't think that will be necessary," Smoke shook her head, "based on that boy's words and the confrontation I witnessed earlier, I can definitely say that Izuku Midoriya was just defending himself."

Ameri nodded and started walking away but a lingering thought still stayed, 'Izuku Midoriya, sounds like a troublesome person, I need to keep my eye out.'

:-:-:-:-:-:

The next day, as soon as Izuku entered the school he was tackled to the ground by Clara.

"Good Morning, Izuchan!" Clara greeted him.

"Good morning Clara, also," Izuku said and took out his phone, "feed your contact info in this."

Clara took the phone from his hand and started feeding contact info into it when she noticed that it only had two contacts in it beforehand, "why do you only have two contacts?"

"Well, I just got my phone so outside of my family you are the first person to feed their contact in there," Izuku explained which made Clara really happy.

After a few minutes, they walked to the notice board to see which class they were assigned to. And as he was walking there Izuku received a message on his phone.

[Grandpa: Izuku-Kun, I forgot to tell you but since you didn't want to attract too much attention to yourself, your grandpa has created a special class of students that attract too much attention to themselves and have placed you in that class along with your friends.]

Izuku's eye twitched as he read through that message, 'I really appreciate the sentiment but,' then he looked up and saw that the class sheet of his class was the only one which was posted with the fancy golden border with it.

And while Izuku was questioning himself if he wanted to thank his grandpa for the effort or scold him for going overboard Eiko approached him, "hey Izuku, looks like we are in the same class."

Izuku turned around and greeted her with a smile, "yeah seems like it. By the way, this is Clara and Clara this is Eiko."

"Nice to meet you," Eiko said to Clara who grabbed her arm with both of her hands and started shaking it.

"Nice to meet you, Eo-chan," Clara said.

"Eo-chan?" Eiko pondered on that name for a moment before her smile returned to her face, "anyways, I already have a map that leads to our classroom, so follow me and I will guide you to the treasure," Eiko raised her fist in the air but quickly took it down when she realized that Izuku was watching her with an amused expression, "let's go already," she said with bashful face and started taking big steps towards the classroom.

:-:-:-:-:-:

After walking for a little while they arrived in front of a huge gate that was located in a secluded underground area of the school.

"It looks old," Clara said while looking around.

"This doesn't look like a classroom," Izuku said as he surveyed the condition of the door and the building, "you two stay here, let me check if this is truly our classroom or if someone is playing a prank."

Then Izuku slowly opened the door and, as soon as he placed his foot inside, his danger sense flared up. Instinctive Izuku jumped back barely avoiding the weapons that were launched at him and took a defensive stance in front of Eiko and Clara.

But then he heard the cheering noises from inside the class. So once again he slowly walked towards the door and peeked inside only to get crowded by a bunch of students.

"Well done dude!" the boy with the yellow hair said.

"That was really great," a tall beautiful girl said.

"That's Honor Student for you," a small birdlike demon said.

"Do it again," the demon with the sword said.

"Izuchan! Is so brilliant," Clara said with stars in her eyes.

"Hey, anyone who just lost their bets, line yourselves here and please give your money," a black-haired demon announced with a microphone.

"Ok, what the hell is going on here and what are they even betting on?" Izuku asked and a familiar voice answered his question.

"They were betting on how many of those weapons will hit the next person that will enter through that door."

Izuku looked to his side with wide eyes, "Alice, what are you doing here?"

"Same thing as you, I was appointed to this class as well," Alice replied, "and we can both guess the reason for that."

"Yeah, I guess I can," Izuku averted his eyes, "by the way, why were they so excited about me dodging these weapons?"

"Because you are the only one who dodged all of them," Alice explained, "everyone at least got hit by either one or two of them. I just burned all of them and the guy standing behind you took full damage."

"What?" Izuku turned around and saw a huge cape-wearing shirtless demon who had weapons stabbed into his body, "you ok there? That looks painful."

"Nonsense, these weak metal sticks cannot even put a scratch on someone like me," he said and flexed his body which made all the weapons pop out of his body, "that's why I Sabor Sabnock, is the most suitable person for the positions of the Demon King."

"He is so big," Clara said as she took out the measuring tape and started measuring his height.

"Listen Honor Student!," Sabnock pointed at Izuku, "I will become Yod(Rank 10) and Demon King and soon you will also have to kneel at my feet!"

"What is Yod?" Izuku asked.

"Yod(Rank 10) is the highest rank a demon could achieve. Then thirteen crowns will select a new demon king from the people who are holding the rank Yod(Rank 10)," Sabnock explained, "I will become Demon King, to get that position I have to be promoted, so..." he took one of the swords from the ground crushed it with his bare hands, "those who dare to challenge me will be crushed, just like this sword."

"But who the heck are you?" Sabnock pointed at Izuku, "you don't know a damm thing about the demon king, what kind of idiot you are?"

"Knock it off Sabnock," Alice jumped into the conversation, "you think bullying people will make you into Demon King?"

"Well well well, if it isn't Asmodeus?" Sabnock said with a mocking smile, "you ranked first in the entrance exam, and your familiar is Gorgon snake."

"So what?" Alice raised his brow.

"My familiar is Kelpie! My familiar has more legs than you so my familiar is stronger," Sabnock declared.

:-:-:-:-:-:

Kelpie-Sabro's familiar is Ohma, a mutant-like beast called a Kelbie. Its visual representation is a mix of a horse and a fish, potentially enabling it to live on land and water. This green-colored familiar has two front limbs, two large fins across its back that act as wings, and a long tail fin. It has one large horn with several fangs attached to its mouth.

:-:-:-:-:-:

"What kind of nonsense are you sprouting?" Alice asked.

"Ah! Forget it," Sanock said dismissively, "the day you lost to honor student, you lost the right to become my rival."

A tick appeared on Alice's forehead as he replied, "I didn't lose that fight, it was a draw," he explained.

"Oh yeah?" Sabnock asked, "then why are talking so casually with him right now? Why are you not hunting him down to turn that draw into a victory."

"Because first of all, I am not as barbaric as you," Alice said, "and besides I am his friend now," Alice declared as a righteous aura surrounded him and Clara started cheering 'me too, me too.'

'Not this again,' Izuku thought with red cheeks.

"Friend?"

"A friend is a person you spend your time with without worrying about their social status or power. You study and train together, you can share your feelings, thoughts, and secrets with them, and hang around with them even outside the school," Alice explained, "or at least this is what Izuku told me when he introduced me to this term."

As soon as Alice finished his explanation, all of Izuku's new classmates looked at him with either amazed or curious looks.

'This is so embarrassing,' Izuku groaned, 'can this get any worse.'

'Dear Izuku,' Nana said with a pitying tone, 'why do you keep challenging your luck like that?'

'What do you -'

"Izuku!' Izuku hurriedly turned around only to see Eiko looking at him with teary eyes, "do you not like me?"

"What?" Izuku asked with a flustered face, "w...w...what are you talking about?"

'Oh my! I knew this was going to happen but not so soon,' Nana snickered.

'Not now, Nana,' Izuku yelled in his head.

"Oh my! Love drama, how interesting!' Tall blonde demoness said and Izuku had to desperately hold in his urge to yell shut up at everyone around him.

Then fortunately for him, Eiko's mind caught up with her words and her face turned red from ear to ear, "no no no! It's not like that," she placed her hand on her face and screamed for a second before looking back at Izuku again, "what I wanted to ask was why didn't you ask me to become your friend."

"Oh! That's because I thought we already are," Izuku explained, "and if you want I can formally ask you right now," Izuku said and offered his hand, "Eiko Oni, will you be my friend."

Eiko again become flustered but immediately grabbed his hand, "yes!"

'Izuku you demon! Stop playing with that poor girl's heart,' Nana said and Izuku internally rolled his eyes.

"Hey let me on this friend thing too, sounds interesting," the yellow-haired demon said.

"Yeah me too," the black-haired demon added.

Eventually, everyone started crowding him except Alice who was already his friend, Sabnock who looked uninterested, a girl with bluish-white hair who looked unsure of this, a boy who was sleeping on a cloud, and the last boy who vanished out of his site, 'wait! I swear I saw someone there."

But his thoughts were interrupted by the sudden slam of the door, "Silence," the scary teacher Kalego entered the class and glared at the students, "I can hear you all the way outside, can't you be more silent?"

"Are you our homeroom teacher spooky-sensei?" Clara asked.

"Yes, yesterday during the staff meeting, Principle decided to do a lottery to decide who will be that unfortunate teacher who will have to teach this class," then he glared at Izuku, "which I later found out was rigged by someone's relative and all the cheats had my name on it," he said and all Izuku could do was avoid making eye contact.

"Now brats, get seated. I am going to do roll calls," he said and magically a book appeared in his hand, "Agares Picero."

The boy who was sleeping on the cloud responded with a yawn.

"Asmodeus Alice."

"Yes sir," Alice replied.

"Allocer Schneider."

"I am a thinking reed," a boy who had a face of a lion replied.

"Andro. M. Jazz."

"Here," the black-haired boy with a laidback attitude replied.

"X Elizabetta."

"Here," a tall blonde demoness replied.

"Valac Clara."

"I am here, spooky sensei," Clara raised both of her hands.

"Stop calling me that," Kalego said with a twitching eye, "Caim Camui," he called but no one answered, "are you not here, Caim Camui?"

Then the small birdlike demon who was busy staring at Elizabetta fanatically raised his hand, "here."

Kalego glared at him but continued the roll call, "Garp Goemon."

"Here," the hairy demon with a sword replied.

"Corcell Kerori."

"Here..." the girl with blueish-white hair whispered.

"Shax Lead."

"Here. Here, here!" the yellow-haired boy replied while playing a video game on a handheld console.

This again made Kalego's eye twitch, "Sabnock Sabro."

"Indeed," Sabnock replied with a confident smirk.

"Sabnock, refrain from extremely insolent behavior and foolish action such as challenging your teachers to fight," Kalego said with a glare, "Eiko Oni."

"Here," Eiko raised her hand and replied.

"Purson Soi."

He again didn't receive an answer but didn't show any reaction to it.

"And Izuku Midoriya."

"Here," Izuku raised his hand.

"Now before we move on, Midoriya switch your seat with Caim," Kalego said.

"NO! I don't want to seat away-" Caim tried to protest but Kalego's single glare was enough to make him quiet and quietly switch places with Izuku who was flanked by Eiko and Clara on both sides.

"Now let us begin class," he slammed the book on the table, "all of you, outside."

:-:-:-:-:-:

After a few minutes, the misfit class was standing on a cliffside which was located back section of the school grounds.

"Your ranks will be determined by the familiar summoning exam conducted previously, along with this race and the mock battles that will take place next Monday," Kalego explained.

(A/n:- Please let me know if you know what days of the week are called in the underworld.)

"The goal is the flag that sits atop a heugh, covered in mist far beyond this valley," Kalego said and took out a cute-looking digital board, "Now, I will let this abomination explain the rules."

:-:-:-:-:-:

I will now explain the course.

1. First route is a bit longer but you can pass through Warbling Valley without facing much danger.

2. The second route is much shorter that goes through the Cutthroat Valley but going through it means facing a lot of danger and traps along the way! Also, beware of the monsters and demon birds who are trying to protect their nests.

Now all the best for the race!

:-:-:-:-:-:

As soon as the explanation was done, Kalego knocked it down and stepped on it, "that's it for the explanation."

'And he still hates cute things,' Izuku thought with a bitter smile.

"The Cutthroat Valley is shorter but it's quite perilous," Alice said.

"Well it's technically shorter but one wrong encounter can exponentially increase your time compared to people who are taking the other route," Izuku explained and many were actually listening to his explanation, "not to mention in the worst-case scenario you can actually lose your life, so in a hindsight, the trade-off is not worth it... just like that forbidden spell."

A small smile appeared on Alice's face as he asked, "you are still salty about that huh?"

"Huh? What a coward's way of thinking," Sabnock mocked Izuku, "the only way for future demon King is through the Cutthroat Valley!"

"The only way this year is through Warbling Valley," Kalego said immediately squashing Sabnock's declaration, "by the way good deduction Midoriya."

"Thank You sensei," Izuku replied.

"Hold it!" Sabnock approached Kalego, "Why we can't go through Cutthroat Valley?"

"For some reason, an enormous magical beast that rules over Cutthroat Valley has been really moody lately," Kelago explained, "that's why no one may enter it. We can't guarantee your safety if you run into it."

"I am still going through Cutthroat Valley," Sabnock said, "if I can't, then what's the point."

"Who cares?" Kalego said, "do whatever you like but know this if you go through with your choice neither me nor the school will be responsible for whatever will happen to you there."

Oh by the way during this whole conversation, Clara was trying to catch Sabnock's tail.

"Hey, Sabnock," Izuku approached the huge boy with a concerned face, "are you sure you want to go through that route, I mean just think it over once."

"Hah! Keep your advice to yourself, honor boy," Sabnock dismissed his concern, "a true king never fears any kind of danger."

"But..." Izuku again tried to talk but Sabnock walked away.

"Izuku," Alice approached him, "there is no point in wasting your time on an idiot like him. Just be satisfied that at least you tried to warn him."

"You are right," Izuku said, "I just hope he comes out in one piece."

"All of you, get ready," Kalego said and everyone except Izuku spread out their wings, "we will now begin the flying race," everyone took the position, "ready, and go."

In an instant, everyone flew away except Izuku who was staring at Kalego with an awkward smile, "sensei I have a question if you don't mind."

"What now?" Kalego asked with an irritated frown.

"Sensei does my method of flight affect my score?" Izuku asked.

"Why are you asking that," Kalego raised his brow.

"Actually I had my wings removed due to a childhood accident but I have other methods of flight available to me," Izuku explained.

Kalego rubbed the temple of his head, "well, it's not like I can take any objections if it's a medical condition so I will allow it as long as you finish the race."

"Thank you sensei," Izuku bowed his head and took off into the sky leaving Kalego behind.

"What a troublesome brat," Kalego said and teleported himself to the finish line.

:-:-:-:-:-:

"*Yawn* so sleepy," Agares said as he lazily floated on a cloud along with Caim and Shax who was playing his game.

Behind them, Eiko, Elizabetta, and Crocell were going through the valley while chatting and taking their sweet time.

Then there was the group third group consisting of Jazz, Allocer, and Garp who were also casually strolling through the valley.

But what they didn't know was the fact that a camera was following them and all of their actions were observed by Kalego who was watching them while scoring their performance.

"Idiots! None of them are taking this seriously." Kalego said as he deducted more points from Caim's score when he tried to give flowers to Elizabetta, "where are those other fools?"

The screen changed and now Alice was on the screen flying through the valley at high speeds. Suddenly he came across some hostile plants who launched spikes at him. He dodged the spikes, summoned his familiar, and burned the entire patch of hostile plants.

"Well done," he praised his familiar and unsummoned him.

"Wowie!" Alice heard a voice, "one more time! One more time!" Alice turned around and saw Clara riding on his back.

"You... when did you..." Alice mumbled.

"You see right at the start... I was already on your back! And then..." Clara stopped explaining and started staring at something else.

"Don't get bored of your own explanation!" Alice yelled irritably and while he was distracted with her he suddenly got entangled in vines.

"Azz! Azz! Help me, I am tangled and can't get free," Clara yelled.

"Idiot! Stop struggling, you are making it worse," Alice said as he tried to free himself.

But then as they were struggling out of nowhere an air bullet came and destroyed the vines. After removing the rest of the vines from his body Alice looked up and saw Izuku floating there with a big smile, "I thought you needed a hand there."

"Izukun!" Clara beamed and jumped onto Izuku's back and clung to him.

"So wanna race to the finish line?" Izuku asked and Alice showed him a fearless smile, "hey Clara, give us a count please!"

"Yay!" Clara cheered and took out a dummy gun from her pocket, "three... two... one...boom!"

Immidtaly Izuku and Alice went into action. They started flying toward the finish line at full speed while Clara was enjoying a free ride.

While flying once again they came across a hostile obstacle but this time...

"Fireball." "Air Cannon."

The obstacle was destroyed in just a few seconds and they continued their race.

:-:-:-:-:-:

At the finish line near the flag, Kalego was enjoying his tea while observing the students when he heard Clara's voice. He looked to his side and saw Izuku and Alice rushing toward the finish line.

And then they both landed, and rushed at Kalego and asked, "who won?"

"Give me some space brats," Kalego said and pushed both of them away, then he played the footage that the camera had caught in which it was shown that Izuku was a few seconds earlier than Alice, "Midoriya you are first, Asmodeus you are second and... she is third," he pointed at Clara who was dancing around Izuku while holding the winner sign.

"You need to go back to the start line and fly here yourself," Alice said to Clara who just ignored him and started playing with rocks.

"Hmm Sensei," Izuku approached Kalego.

"What?" he asked.

"Did Sabnock really take the other path?" Izuku asked.

Kalego sighed and rubbed his face, "yes, despite all the warnings that idiot took the route through the Cutthroat valley."

Izuku nodded and asked, "what are the odds that he will actually survive?"

"5%, that too only if the guardian decided to toy with him and not outright kill him in a single blow," Kalego explained.

Izuku nodded and sat on the side trying to make up his mind about something.

Then more time passed and one by one his classmates started arriving at the finish line and started gossiping with each other but despite that no one... not even Eiko or Clara tried to approach Izuku who was intensely staring at the ground.

'Izuku, it won't be your fault if something happened to that boy, you know that right?' Nana said.

'Nana...,' Izku tried to find the right words, 'I know I am not a hero anymore, I know that I am not obliged to save anyone but I can't just sit here knowing that someone's life is in danger."

'Izuku... I don't know what to do with you,' Nana said with a chuckle, 'but you won't be one of us without that attitude.'

Izuku smiled to himself and stood up, "I am going to look for Sabnock," Izuku said and summoned Nana in her Rayquaza form with the use of summoning stickers which Opera had forcefully placed in his pockets.

"Midoriya, stop this foolishness," Kalego said, "you don't need to go after that fool, and if you go the same rules apply to you as well."

"Sensei, I understand what you are saying and I take full responsibility for my actions," Izuku said as he stared right into his eyes. Then he turned around and looked at his friends, "if I don't come back in an hour, make sure to inform grandpa about this whole situation."

"Izuku, are you sure?" Eiko asked.

"Yep I am," Izuku replied with a reassuring smile.

"Izuku, I really don't understand why are you doing this but don't do something stupid," Alice said and Izuku nodded.

"Izukun," Clara nervously approached him and offered him candy, "dad told me that it is good to eat something sweet before going on an adventure."

"Thanks, guys," Izuku said with a genuine smile. Then he jumped on Nana's back and both flew towards Cutthroat valley at super speed.

:-:-:-:-:-:

'Do you see anything?' Izuku asked he searched around while sitting on Nana's back.

By now he had understood why Kalego sensei had warned them about going through this route. It was filled with dangerous magic beasts that were constantly eyeing him and waiting for their opportunity to hurt him.

But fortunately for him Nana's sheer size and presence were enough to keep all of them away from them.

'No, nothing ye-" suddenly they heard a loud cry coming out of one deep section of the valley, 'what was that?'

'Don't know but we should check it out,' Izuku said, 'I will go down there and you watch my back from up here.'

'Sure, be safe,' Nana said.

Izuku jumped off Nana's back and slowly descended into the valley. Then after navigating for a little while he came across a huge white demon bird that had a huge mark on its head along with a purple beak and horns.

The demon bird noticed Izuku and growled at him to threaten him so he won't come close to him. Izuku then stopped in his track and wondered if he should leave when he noticed a huge injury in his talon.

'Oh! That's why it is acting so aggressive,' Izuku thought to himself, 'hmm maybe I can help.'

"Hey big guy, watch this," Izuku slowly picked up a sharp rock and gave a little cut to himself. Then he took out the handkerchief and wrapped it around his hand, effectively stopping the bleeding, "want me to do this to you?"

The bird looked at Izuku curiously then it realized they both are not the only ones there as felt that someone watching them and that's why when it looked up and shiver ran down its spine when it saw the red eyes of a serpentine creature looking at them from the sky.

The bird also understood that the creature standing in front was the master of that thing so he shakily offered him his talon.

"Oh! Thank you for trusting me," Izuku said and walked closer to the bird, "but I don't have anything to wrap your wound with," as he was thinking about it, a single drop of his blood fell into the bird's wound and completely healed it.

"Huh?" Izuku was stunned as he looked at the now completely healed talon and then at his blood.

Meanwhile, the bird happily examined its leg and looked much more relieved now that the pain was gone. Then it slowly pushed its head towards Izuku and affectionately rubbed it on his body, until a loud angry roar shook their surrounding.

"Shit! I was supposed to search for Sabncok," Izuku said, "hey big guy it was nice meeting you, but I have to go now."

Izuku tried to leave but the bird stopped him by catching his uniform in its beak. Then it lowered its head and sat on the ground.

"You want me to ride you?" Izuku asked and the bird let out an affirmative cry. Then Izuku reluctantly climbed its back and as soon as he did the bird took off and started flying somewhere while Nana followed them while shouting Izuku's name.

:-:-:-:-:-:

Somewhere in the Cutthroat Valley, Sabro Sabnock was kneeling on the ground on an edge of a cliff where he was just a few inches away from falling in a constant stream of lava behind him.

His body was screaming in pain and his wings were also damaged so he didn't have a way to escape either.

And in front of him, "So... this is..." a gigantic hairy demon beast with giant red eyes was staring him down, "the guardian of the Cutthroat Valley!"

The guardian growled at him.

"Curses! I was too careless," Sabnock said as he winced in pain, "at this rate, I might die even before becoming the demon king."

"No! I won't give up," Sabnock stood up and held the metal piece that he was wearing on his neck in his mouth and summoned an axe of that same metal.

:-:-:-:-:-:

Sabnock family's Bloodline Magic.

Weapon Creation:-Sabro can instantly forge a weapon out of nowhere, manipulated by what he is currently biting. He mainly has three elements of metal encased as a necklace on his neck (which makes it easier for him to bite).

"I cannot lose here..." Sabnock rushed at the Guardian, "A Destiny?... A Promise?...Fate? None of that bullshit, I must become the Demon King because that's the coolest thing you can be!" Sabnock declared and attacked the guardian only to get hit by its claw and get rolled off the cliff.

Sabnock looked down at the flowing lava and a bitter feeling rose in his heart. He knew he was going to die without fulfilling his dream. He had made a vow to himself that he will not become a lame demon like... him. But he knew he can't complain, his will is what brought him this far. And so with that bitter feeling in his mind, he closed his eyes and accepted his death.

But it never came. He opened his eyes and noticed that he was hanging in the air just a few centimeters above the lava. Then he looked up and his body was held up by black tentacles which were... coming out of Izuku's arm.

"Geez! Almost lost you there," Izuku said with a relieved smile, then he pulled him up and laid him down on the ground.

"What are you doing here?" Sabnock asked, "I thought you weren't going to take this route."

"Actually, I already completed the race, placed first in fact," Izuku said, "but then sensei told us that you have a 5% chance of survival so I came to look for you."

Sabnock looked at Izuku with wide eyes. He was there... for him. He came to rescue him despite all the insults he threw at the boy. But then he saw a huge claw closing in on them.

"Watch out," Sabnock said and threw Izuku behind him and shielded him with his own body. But before it could hit them a giant green tail interrupted the attack and pushed the guardian back.

Sabnock looked up and saw a huge serpentine creature flying in the sky, "what is that?"

"That's my familiar," Izuku explained.

Then a white bird arrived and started screeching at the guardian.

"Is that perhaps, guardian's child?" Sabnock asked.

"This thing is the guardian of the Cutthroat valley?" Izuku asked with wide eyes, "Wait! Hey big guy, you are the guardian's child?"

The white bird looked at Izuku and nodded his head.

'He knows the guardian's child?' Sabnock thought but then his eyes landed on the sword nearby, 'forget about that. This is my chance to attack!"

"Hey Guardian-san, I found your child in a valley nearby! You must be upset because your child was lost," Izuku said and as if to support his claims the bird started to screech out.

Meanwhile, Sabnock slowly crawled towards the sword and picked it up in his hands.

"Also we don't want to fight anymore, right?" Izuku looked at Sabnock with an intense gaze.

"What are you saying? This is our chance-"

"Put that thing down," Izuku said while pressuring every single word and then smiled at him, "don't worry, everything will be all right."

Sabnock sighed and finally let go of his weapon and raised his hands.

Guardian looked at them for a moment and then moved forward and bowed his head.

"The Guardian is bowing his head," Sabnock had surprise written all over his face.

"No, please don't bow your head!" Izuku said, "Really it is not a big deal. I am really happy for you."

'So this is the honor student Izuku... what an unbelievable demon,' Sabnock thought.

"Hey Sabnock, we should be going now or Kelago sensei will declare both of us dead if we take any more time," Izuku said.

"Actually... my wings are damaged so I can't fly right now," Sabnock said.

"Well in that case," Izuku looked at the white bird who nodded his head, "I think we should cash in a favor right now."

Back at the starting line, the sun was setting and everyone was waiting for the two boys.

Finally, Kalego sighed and said, "everyone, we are leaving."

"But sensei, Izuku still hasn't returned," Eiko said.

"There is no point in waiting," Kalego said, "I will ask the principal to arrange a rescue team for those two idiots."

But then suddenly the winds became violent and in the distance, you could see Izuku riding on his familiar, white bird and the guardian of Cutthroat Valley who was carrying Sabnock flying towards them.

Meanwhile, Alice had a smirk on his face, Eiko had a relieved smile, Clara was happily chanting Izuku's name, other students were stunned, and Kalego... looked like he was done with his life.

Finally, when Izuku and Sabnock descended from their specific mounts, Kalego approached them and glared at Izuku, "explain."

Then Izuku explained to him all the series of events that lead to him arriving here with the guardian itself tho he did exclude the fact that his blood might be miracle medicine for demons... for obvious reasons.

Then Kalego sighed and thanked the guardian for putting up his 'moron' students.

And then when the guardian was about to leave, the child of the guardian stood in front of Izuku and screeched.

"The bird is saying that it is thankful for your help," Caim explained.

"You can understand animals?" Izuku asked.

"Yes it is an inherited magic of my clan," Caim explained.

The bird again screeched and started nuzzling in Izuku's chest.

"It is saying that it will feel sad if you didn't come to play with him again," Caim translated.

"Oh! Don't worry big guy, I will visit you whenever I can," Izuku said and hugged the bird which Eiko quickly captured in her phone.

After that, the parent and child left leaving the exhausted teacher and excitedly chatting class behind.

"Silence," Kalego said, "we are leaving, now."

And while they were walking back to their classroom, Sabnock approached Izuku and said, "Izuku, I once again thank you for saving my life," Sabnock bowed his head, "I apologize for my rudeness before."

"It's all right, we can't judge each other by our first interactions," Izuku said.

"But I must say, you are an amazing man and that's why from today you are my rival," Sabnock said, "shall we fight for the seat of the Demon King?"

"That sounds like a goal for the far future," Izuku chuckled, "for now let's just help each other to become the best versions of ourselves," Izuku said and caught up to Clara, Alice, and Eiko.

"Huh! You really are a strange demon," Sabnock said with a smirk.

The next day when Izuku arrived at the school he saw that he was headlining the school newspaper third time in a row and this time it was for befriending The Guardian of Cutthroat Valley's child and to accompany that headline was his picture hugging the big guy.

'Yeah, I should give up on staying out of the spotlight, that might work in my favor somehow,' Izuku thought with a tired sigh, 'at least today will be normal since we don't have anything scheduled for the day.'

'Too soon Izuku, too soon,' Nana said, and immediately someone tapped on Izuku's shoulder. He turned around and saw two students who usually stand at the gates before the school assembly.

"You are the honor student, Izuku Midoriya right?" the one with black and white hair asked.

"Yeah, that's me," Izuku replied, "is there a problem."

"Yes, actually," the pink girl who reminded him of Mina said, "the president wants to have a little chat with you."
