Ameri, Truth & Kumara
The president of the student council, Ameri Azazel was sitting in her office while going through some documents when she noticed the time on her table clock.
'I still have some time before I have to meet with the honor student,' Ameri thought as she stretched her arms, 'in that case,' Ameri stood up and walked towards the bookshelf. Then she activated a magical pattern hidden behind some books and revealed another set of bookshelves hidden there.
The books on these hidden shelves were colorful, had cute & detailed pictures drawn on them, and were written in a language that was foreign to this world... human language.
'These are the secret texts that have been passed down in my family for generations. These texts are records of things that are going on in the human world and are irrefutable proof that humans exist,' Ameri thought. Then she picked up one of the books and went back to her seat.
Then she took a deep breath as the sweat dripped down her face, "All right," she said as she opened the book, and immediately her face went red while her strict persona was replaced by a cute one.
"I can't read these letters, so I don't know what is going on but..." she flipped through the pages, "I am so curious," but then she landed on a particular page which made her face even redder and heart went *badump* inside her chest as she remembered a specific incident that happened yesterday.
:-:-:-:-:-:
*Flashback*
After a tiring day of school when most of the students had already gone home, Ameri Azazel was on the final round of patrol before going home.
"I can really use some hot shower right now," she said as she cracked her neck and entered the classroom that was allocated to the misfits.
She entered the class and as expected it was empty since they must have already gone home after their flying exam which reminded her about the big news for tomorrow's school paper that she heard from the news battler during the patrols, (Honor student saved the child of the Guardian of the Cutthroat Valley and earned its respect!) 'this marks as a third consecutive day that the honor student did something absurd,' Ameri thought and turned around to leave the class, 'I guess, it's finally time to meet the boy in person and see what his true intentions are,' and soon as she left the class she bumped into someone.
"Sorry," she heard a male voice. Then she looked up and saw a green-haired boy looking at her with worried eyes, "are you all right?"
*Badump*
Suddenly her heart started racing like crazy and she started imagining flowers and romantic music around them. She also remembered the fact that this exact same this also happened between the boy and the girl from the forbidden texts which led them to fall in... l-lov-.
"Hmm hello? Are you hurt somewhere?" fortunately for her the boy's question managed to bring her back to reality.
She then quickly stood up and accusingly pointed at the boy, "what are you doing here? Shouldn't you have gone home already?"
"I forgot something in my classroom," the boy said and walked inside the classroom and came out with a notebook, "well since I got my book, I should be going now, and also sorry for bumping into you," the boy said and ran out of the cave and left red-faced Ameri behind.
Ameri then slowly walked inside the class and sat on one of the benches to calm her heart.
'Did he... did he really use the charming technique from the forbidden text?' Ameri asked herself, 'don't be stupid, it was just a coincidence,' she told herself, 'Wait a minute! Green hair & misfit class. That means,' she quickly realized the person she bumped into was none other than the honor student.
:-:-:-:-:-:
Ameri's heart again started racing when she saw a similar situation happening in the book.
'I am pretty sure that what happened yesterday was just a coincidence, there is no way any demon will know how to use these enchantments,' Ameri said to herself, 'still, the boy has caused enough chaos in the last three days that some don't even cause in their entire school year. That's why I have to make sure that the boy is not a threat to the school's peace and if he is then I will deal with him accordingly.'
That's when someone knocked on her door.
"President, Izuku Midoriya is here," Smoke, the pink girl informed her.
Ameri looked at the book in her hand for a second wondering if she should put it away but then she thought, 'it's written in human language, it's not like any other demon can read it anyway.' So she placed a book notable and asked Smoke to send the boy inside.
Then after a few minutes, the door slowly opened and a green-haired boy stepped inside the room. Upon entering he immediately recognized her, "hey, you are that girl I bumped into yesterday. I didn't know you were the student council president, but it does make sense as to why were patrolling in the school at that hour.'
The boy started mumbling to himself so Ameri decided to interrupt him, "I don't exactly go around bragging about my position to everyone I meet," Ameri said and Izuku nodded, "now, place take a seat."
Izuku sat on the chair in front of her and asked, "so what is this meeting about? Did I do something wrong?"
"That will depend on the outcome of this meeting," Ameri said with a hard stare, "in the last couple of days you have made quite a name for yourself. From the entrance ceremony to yesterday's flying race, you have been doing quite absurd things. So tell me Izuku Midoriya, what are your real intentions?"
In response, Izuku tilted his head and asked, "I don't know what are you talking about. All the things that happened to me this past week were sheer coincidences or were triggered by someone else. I only claim responsibility for running into Cutthroat Valley because my classmate's life was in danger."
"Is that so?" Ameri asked curiously, "then why don't you run me through these events," Ameri said and took out some papers, "first of all, tell me why did you think that reading a forbidden spell in a room filled with so many people was a right thing to do?"
"Honestly, I had no idea it was a forbidden spell," Izuku said while rubbing the back of his neck.
"What!?" Ameri yelled, "you cast a forbidden spell without knowing what it was?"
"Well grandpa did put me on the spot that day and I had no idea what should I say to the crowd then I saw a note that my grandpa had left for me which had those words written on them," Izuku explained.
"Ok," Ameri nodded her head, "later that day you picked a fight with a student representative, Asmodeus Alice, how did that happen."
"Again not my fault," Izuku defended, "it was his idea to challenge me to a fight because I stole his spotlight or something," he explained, "also I didn't attack him even once during that fight and only used my powers to save a girl who almost got harm in the crossfire."
"So you are calming that it was self-defense?" Ameri asked and Izuku nodded, "very well. The next day after familiar summoning you almost got into a fight with another boy."
"And I am not sorry for that," Izuku said, "he was a jerk who was taking advantage of Clara's bloodline magic, and don't think I did anything bad by standing up to him."
"Yes, one of my subordinates saw that confrontation and informed me about that," Ameri said, "I just wanted to see your thoughts on the matter. Moving on, walk me through yesterday's flying race. How did that entire thing with guardian happen?"
"Oh that," then Izuku explained to her how he first finished the race and then went after the Sabnock when he realized that his life might be in danger, how he found his guardian's child who was stuck in a valley and helped the poor bird and finally how the guardian was grateful that he saved his child and spared Sabnock's life, "at the end the guardian decided to show it's gratitude by giving Sbanock ride to the finish line since his wings were damaged during their fight."
"So this is what happened huh," Ameri said slowly digesting everything that Izuku said, "so let me ask you this why did you risk your own life to save him?"
"What do you mean by that?" Izuku asked.
"My question is, was there any need for you to go after your classmate when you clearly knew that the fate your classmate was going to face was the result of his own action and choices," Ameri said now looking straight into his eyes, "you are lucky that you found guardian's child when you did otherwise how were you planning to face guardian on your own," then she let out a tired sigh, "I am honestly trying to understand why were you trying to risk your life for someone you just met a few hours ago."
"Because when you have the power to stop bad things from happening but you don't, then the bad things happen... they happen because of you," Izuku replied, and then *badump* the look he had in his eyes while saying this was doing things to Ameri's heart.
"*Cough* ok I understand, in that case, thank you for your time, and best of luck for mock battles," she said and offered her hand.
Izuku stood up and walked to her table to shake her hand when his eyes landed on a certain book on her table.
"Wait! First love memories! What is this manga doing here in the demon world," he absentmindedly said and picked up the book, "I remember seeing it in stores every time I pass through one."
Meanwhile, Ameri was looking at him with wide eyes, 'he can read it. He can read manga written in human language. That means I can ask him to read it for m- not the time Ameri!' she yelled at herself, 'now it all makes sense. His mindset is so unlike other demons. Wait a minute what is a human doing in the nether world in the first place? How did he cross the-' then she remembered hearing her parents' conversation about the possibility that the Principle had visited the human world, 'don't tell me. Sullivan Sama brought a human into the demon world. I have to inform my father as soon as possible. But before that...'
She stood up from her seat and grabbed Izuku's hand who suddenly had a pale face when he realized what he just blabbered out.
"Izuku Midoriya, are you a human?" Ameri asked.
"Fuck!" Izuku muttered under his breath, "listen Ameri-san, I can explain."
:-:-:-:-:-:
(Sullivan's Mansion)
After Izuku's identity was revealed in front of Ameri he somehow convinced her to continue this topic back at his home. And even tho Ameri was hesitant at first she also realized that she cannot allow this news to spread outside that room and agreed to his proposition.
After that Izuku escaped the school alone after dumping Clara on Eiko and Ameri also left the school earlier than she usually does. And now both of them were sitting in his room while facing each other.
"Thank you," Ameri said as Opera served her some tea and stood behind her to protect Izuku in case she made a sudden move.
In front of her was Izuku MIdoriya who was staring at the ground.
"So you are a human?" Ameri asked and Izuku nodded his head, "and how did you get here?"
"My parents sold me to grandpa," Izuku replied with an emotionless voice, "and no it was not out of necessity. For them, I was just a tool to make money."
Upon hearing his answer Ameri grimaced a little. She can understand that Izuku must have felt betrayed after getting sold by his own parents.
"Ok, so Sullivan sama bought you from your parents and asked you to become his grandson and sent you Babyls," Ameri said and Izuku nodded, "Izuku my parents work in demon petrol and have sent many humans back to the human world, if you want I can-"
"But what if I don't want to go back, what if I want to stay?" Izuku asked.
"Why in the hell would you want to stay here? Don't you want to go back and live amongst your people?" Ameri asked.
"My people," Izuku chuckled, "let me make this clear, I have no desire to go back to people who willingly sold me for money, and as a matter of fact I am not like other humans," Izuku said and green sparks started swirling around his body, "unlike other humans I have powers, that's why I won't be at home even if you sent me back to the human world. Besides I am happy here, I have a family, I can go to school, I can use my powers without getting locked up in a cell, and most importantly I have friends here. Why do you think I will ever want to go back to a world where I will lose all of this."
Ameri sighed as she could clearly see the desperation in his voice but despite that, she was a member Azazel family, "even if you say that, the demon world is not safe for humans to live. You won't be able to survive here."
"Then give me a chance to prove myself," Izuku said with a determined face.
"What?" Ameri asked.
"I am asking you for one chance, one single chance to show you that I am strong enough to survive in this world," Izuku said and bowed in front of her.
Ameri thought for a moment and said, "very well Izuku Midoriya, if you want a chance I will give it to you."
"Really!?" Izuku asked.
"Yes," Ameri said, "on the day of your mock battle exam, I will personally pick an opponent for you, and if you managed to not get knocked out for the duration of the match I will agree that you are strong enough to survive in the netherworld. Are these terms acceptable?"
"Yes! Thank you Ameri," Izuku said and flashed her a confident smile, "I promise I won't disappoint."
*Badump*
"I...I should take my leave now," she stood up and walked out of the door.
:-:-:-:-:-:
"Ah! If it isn't the heir of the Azazel family! What are you doing here?" as soon as Ameri descended the stairs she met the master of the house itself, Lord Sullivan.
"I had some important business with you grandson," she said trying to end this conversation as quickly as possible, "it's getting pretty late I should leave now."
She walked past him and when she was about to reach the door Sullivan spoke, "you found out the truth behind Izuku's identity, didn't you?"
Ameri stopped in her tracks and an uncomfortable silence lingered between them until Ameri turned around and spoke, "yes. I know that Izuku is a human and you brought him here from the human world."
"I see," Sullivan nodded his head, "so what are you going to do next? Are you going to involve Henri and Kumara in this as well?" Sullivan asked with a serious voice.
Ameri knew that she was strong, stronger than most of the demons around her but right now she was standing in front of Lord Sullivan, one of the there heroes and the former subordinate of Derkila-Sama. That's why she had to pick her words carefully otherwise she can risk bringing his wrath to her and her family.
"At first I was going to get my parents involved in this mess as soon as possible but then Izuku convinced me to give him a chance to prove himself," Ameri said and explained to him her condition to him, "and if he failed to do that I will immediately send him back to the human world."
"Well that's reasonable," Sullivan said and a friendly smile turned to his face, "in that case be ready to be amazed because I am sure Izuku will come out on top no matter who he will be facing."
:-:-:-:-:-:
(Izuku's room)
Back in his room, Izuku was sitting in the same place while eating snacks.
"Well, that went better than I thought," Izuku said as he popped one biscuit in his mouth.
'Izuku...' Nana said in a tired voice, 'please take this little seriously. You almost revealed your second biggest secret to a girl you met for the first time in your life.'
'I know right,' Izuku thought in an astonished voice.
'Idiot!' Nana grumbled, 'just be glad that she turned out to be a reasonable girl and gave you a chance to present your side."
"Izuku sama, what are going to do now?" Opera asked.
"Well first of all I going to take a good nap," Izuku stood up and stretched his arms, "my body and mind are equally tired right now."
"I was talking about miss Ameri's challenge," Opera said.
"Yeah about that, Opera do you know any open space where I can practice my mobility as well as summon my familiar?" Izuku asked.
"Hmm, let's see for mobility training you can use the training ground below the mansion," Opera said.
"Wait! we have training ground here at our house?" Izuku asked with a surprised face.
"Yes, and altho it hasn't been used in a very long time I will prepare it for you by tomorrow," Opera said and Izuku nodded, "and as for familiar summoning, I will suggest you do that in a cutthroat valley. It has a large unused open space and since the guardian has taken a liking to you it will keep you safe."
"Thanks for the advice and now I going to take a nap," Izuku jumped on his bed, "Opera can you please wake me up when dinner is ready?"
"I will do that," Opera said and left Izuku's room.
:-:-:-:-:-:
(Ameri's house)
After taking a long and relaxing bath Ameri was sitting in her room thinking about a certain green-haired boy. Not even in her wildest dream she would have imagined that a simple meeting with a possibly troublesome student would turn into... whatever this is.
Honestly, one side of her brain was encouraging her to just reveal all of this to her parents just be done with it but then Izuku's face came to her mind. For some reason, she couldn't bring herself to break his trust.
She sighed in defeat and buried her face in her pillow when someone knocked on her door.
"Lady Ameri, are you in there?" the door to her room opened and revealed a demoness in a maid uniform with light blue hair, black horns, and blue eyes. This lady was Azazel family's security demon and kind of elder sister to Ameri as well.
"Yeah Moana, you need something?" Ameri asked.
"Dinner is ready. Lady Kumara is waiting for you downstairs," Moana said.
"Ok I will be there in a second," Ameri said and made herself look more little more presentable and went downstairs. When she reached there she was greeted by Moana who serving the food and another demoness with a curvaceous body and long shining red hair. She also had fox ears and nine tails attached to her back.
This Nine taled demoness was none other than Ameri's mother and co-head of demon border patrol, Kumara Azazel.
"Hello mom, how was your day?" Ameri greeted her mom.
"Nothing exciting sweety, just usual," Kumara replied with a smile, "so anything exciting happened at school? I am guessing that having new juniors must be tiring for the student council president."
Ameri grimaced at the question remembering a certain junior and the trouble he brought with him, "yeah juniors can be a little handful sometimes."
Then they started their dinner but Ameri was just playing with her food while Izuku's words were ringing in her mind.
'Unlike other humans I have powers, that's why I won't be at home even if you sent me back to the human world.'
"Mom, you have met humans before right?" Ameri asked.
Kumra raised her brow at the question but still answered her daughter, "I certainly have met a few during my service at border patrol."
"And do they have powers? Like magical powers, biological enhancements, or enchanting spells?" Ameri asked.
"As far as I know, they don't. It's more like they don't need these powers since the human world is not as harsh as the demon world," Kumara replied.
Ameri nodded and thought, 'then what was that green energy around Izuku,' then a sudden realization hit her. There was no charm involved in the bumping incident yesterday. As soon as she realized that her face became red and she started gulping down her food so that she can go and scream into her pillow.
"Lady Ameri, are you perhaps thinking about someone right now?" Moana asked with an amused smile.
"Yeah, about Izuku," Ameri absentmindedly replied.
"Izuku? I don't think I have heard this name before," Moana said.
"He is my junior at Babyls and today-," she stopped mid-sentence as soon as she realized what she was going to say next. Then she looked up and saw Moana looking at her with an evil glint in her eyes.
"Oh my, Lady Ameri is having an affair with her junior how scandalous," Moana said and covered her mouth.
"It's not like that," Ameri said now completely red from ear to ear, "I don't even know him that well."
"So... you want to know more about him?" Moana asked with an amused smile which frustrated Ameri even more.
And while their banter was going on Kumara was staring at Ameri with a thoughtful expression. Then she suddenly stood up and said, "Ameri, my office, now," then she looked at Moana who was back in her professional role, "Henri will be back soon so make sure that he stays away from my office, am I clear?"
"Yes Lady Kumara," Moana bowed her head.
Then Kumara looked at Ameri and said, "get up, what are you waiting for?"
:-:-:-:-:-:
Inside Kumara's office, Kumara was sitting in front of Ameri who was nervously fidgeting her fingers.
"So mom, you wanted to talk," Ameri said in a small voice.
Kumara who saw the shrinking form of her ever-so-confident daughter sighed and placed a hand on her cheek and said, "my little devil, what's wrong? What is troubling you so much?"
"It's nothing mom," Ameri said with a strained smile, "I just got a little flustered because of Moana's teasing that's all."
Ameri tried to cover her nervousness with a laugh but Kumara wasn't going to buy it, "let me guess, this boy... Izuku was it, he is a human isn't he?"
At that very moment, all the strength left her body as she looked at her mom with wide eyes.
"How did you know?" Ameri asked.
"Darling, I didn't become head of the border patrol by just looking this beautiful," Kumara said, "during the entire dinner you were lost in your own thoughts. Then out of nowhere, you started asking questions about humans, Then when Moana asked you if you were thinking about someone, that boy's name was on your tongue. From there I just made my own guess and you just confirmed it," Kumara explained, "now tell me what is going on and how are you related to any of this?"
Ameri sighed in defeat as she understood that there is no way to do this from her mom anymore.
"Ok I will tell you but promise me that you won't take any sudden actions," Ameri said.
"That depends on what you tell me dear," Kumara said with a sweet smile that wasn't making Ameri feel relieved at all.
Then Ameri told her everything from Izuku's recent exploits to her agreement with the boy.
Kumara on the other hand listened to the entire explanation without interrupting her daughter.
"So you are telling me that Izuku Midoriya who is a human boy, was sold to Lord Sullivan. And this same human boy was able to fight Amareyllis's son to draw. Summoned an unknown familiar. Was able to gain Cutthroat Valley's guardian's respect after saving his child and has some mysterious power," Kumara asked in a 'are you serious?' tone, "and in the end, you gave him an opportunity to prove himself during the upcoming mock battles."
"Yeah, that sums it up," Ameri said with a tired sigh, "mom... I know it's your job to send humans back to their world but can you please wait till mock battles and trust my judgment on this one?"
"Why?" Kamura asked and Ameri was again silent, "why do you want to give him a chance, to begin with?"
"I will agree that I was on the fence when I first found out about him but then the more I talked with him the more I realized how different he is from all the other people I have met before," Ameri said, "and then once I found out about his secret, he didn't beg in front of me to keep his secret or threatened me with Lord Sullivan's power. He just asked me to give him a chance to prove himself," Ameri explained, "and then there was also..."
"Ameri, don't hesitate. Speak what is on your mind," Kumara ruffled her hair.
"I am not sure about this but when he spoke about being different than everyone else, he sounded so desperate. Like someone who has lost a lot of important things in their life and is afraid to lose anything else," Ameir said.
Kumara looked at her daughter for a moment then let out a tired sigh, "I know I might regrate this but if my little devil is ready to put her trust in that boy so will I.
"Really!" Ameri asked with bright eyes.
"Of course dear, just don't tell your dad ok. You know how he gets around boys, especially ones who have the potential to become your boyfriend," Kumara said with a sly smile.
"Yeah, dad can be little- wait! what did you say," a huge blush formed on Ameri's face, "I already told you it's not like that. Please, stop acting like Moana."
"If you say so my little devil if you say so," Kumara said, "now go and take a good night's rest. I think you have earned it after such a long day."
Ameri stood up and was about to walk out of the door when Kumara stopped her, "by the way, have you decided who are you going to choose as his opponent?"
Ameri thought for a moment before her regular shine returned to her eyes, "yeah I think I know the answer," she said and left the room.
:-:-:-:-:-:
After Ameri left, Kumara's friendly expression turned into a serious one, "Old geezer, what are you doing, bringing a human into a netherworld when there is so much chaos going around everywhere."
Then her thoughts wandered towards Izuku and all the things Ameri told her about him.
"Human with powers huh," Kumara said. "that shouldn't be possible at all. Is he the result of some kind of experiment that Lord Sullivan was running in a human world or an offspring from a relationship between a human and a demon?" Kumara sighed.
Then a motherly smile appeared on her face, "but still. No matter who or what this boy is, he is surely a positive influence on Ameri. After all, nowadays Ameri rarely acts like a girl around her age should. But when it comes to this boy she seems so fluttery, nervous, and bashful. And more importantly, she is even ready to go against our family's duty just to prevent this boy from getting deported," then her motherly smile turned into a devilish one, "in that case, Izuku Midoriya, I would love to see what kind of person you are for myself."
