"I take it you and your Armored Squadron have your documentations all set up, Cooler?" David asked on his comm. "A bit hard to believe it's only been three weeks since what happened at the Prison Planet."

"It's been a very smooth transfer, David. And yes, it's hard to believe myself." Cooler said. "How is your education coming?"

"It's going quite well." David said. "Senior year is quite a hurdle for high-schoolers. Everyone is focusing on university entrance exams. As much as I like to tussle with Cheetah and Esmeralda, the fact that I have to study a lot means that I barely have any time for that now, and that's kind of saddening in a way."

"And what about your life as a hero? Won't University get in the way of that?" Cooler asked. "What's your dream, David?"

"Well… It's kind of hard to say, really. I mean, my main focus is on sports and criminal studies." David said. "I mean, I know online courses are a thing, so I can pull double-duty, if need be, but… Ever since the whole Dungeon Odyssey thing, I… I have been getting an interest in exploring dungeons and ruins. I guess my time traveling with Cheetah and her group opened my eyes to new horizons. Before I started my journey, my worldview was so shallow. "It wasn't just Cheetah who gave you that expansion. Wasn't it also Jexi, Hope and the others who contributed as well?" Cooler asked.

"Heishin? From what Niez told me, that's a rival school of yours, correct?" Cooler asked.

He hurried down there as safety officials were already at work pulling out numerous charred remains.

"Hey…what happened here?" David asked.

"Weirdest thing. One of the classrooms suddenly exploded. And just when a class was starting. It took out everyone inside the class, students and teacher included." they said.

"No way. Just from a stray blast? Which classroom was it?" David asked.

"From what we could gather… It seemed like it was Class 2-3 that was caught in it." the safety official said. "Weirdest thing is we couldn't find the cause of the explosion at all."

"I see… Thank you for the information." David said as he walked away. "A whole classroom of students…how tragic." he said to himself. "Though…" he said thinking of Rimuru and Kazuma. "Maybe they aren't totally gone."

The Guild had reunited after the massive monster attacks had been quelled, the Fatebreakers returning from their mission in Dulvey, Louisiana in the Undead Universe.

"Though, Fatebreakers, your nightmares have yet to end, and the monster hunting job has yet to end." Cobalt said.

"If you're trying to give an inspirational speech, you're off to a poor start." Kazuma said.

"It's not a speech. We've been given a job to catalog some monsters within one of the most dangerous labyrinths in the Adventure Universe." Ivy said. "As well as eliminating any that pose a threat to mankind."

"Wait…you're not…talking about the Great Elroe Labyrinth are you?" Rista asked, shaking a bit.

"That's the one." Theo said.

"Oh boy…." Aqua said. "Even before I got dragged to Belzerg, I heard the stories about that place. The Great Elroe Labyrinth is super huge, and the farther down you go, the tougher it gets. Plus the world it's on belongs to a demon lord who isn't too friendly with us high up goddesses."

"But, this is only a Cataloging and Elimination quest, right? It's not like we'll be confronting the Demon Lord directly." Ty noted.

"He's got a point. As long as we don't do anything to mess with Ariel, she won't come hunting us." Rista said.

"Yeah, exac- hold on, the Demon Lord's a girl?" Ty asked.

"Why are you so surprised, you know we have ties to a girl who has that title too." Ultraman said.

"Yeah, it's just weird hearing that an actual Demoness is the Demon Lord a hero has to defeat in a world." Ty said.

"Oh…she's not a demon. She's actually a spider monster originally but evolved." Rista said.

"I see, so she is similar to the Demon Lords in Lord Rimiru's world." Necroapache said.

"Trust us though, you don't want to mess with her. Now, we should get going. The sooner we finish this job, the quicker we can head home and stay away from labyrinths like that." Rista said.

"Ainz and his buddies not joining us for the party?" Ty asked as the guild members present started to head out.

"Ainz is tending to some business. Paperwork. It'll be a while before we can rejoin him in the Sorcerer Kingdom." Theo said.

"Well…I know I'm excited. So…let's get on up and out!" Maple said.

Meanwhile, in the Great Elroe Labyrinth….

"Ow….owie…I hit my head on something hard all…round…" a voice said as the space around them shattered, showing it was an egg as inside was a single spider monster in a nest of all her newborn brothers and sisters. "Yeahhhh…." she said in shock. "What is this?! And what are all these legs?!" she said, freaking out. "Oh yeah…this is like all that stuff you read about in manga and see in anime. No way! Not happening! Why'd it have to be a spider?!" she cried. "No use crying about it. I've somehow reincarnated as a spider…so I better get used to it." she sighed.

However, being a spider is not all it's cracked up to be.

"Ugh…hey…" she said to her passing siblings before seeing a few crowded around something. "Oh, meal time? I was getting pretty…" she said before seeing they were feasting on one of their own kin. "Ah! Why is it cannibalism?! I'm not sticking around this place. I'm going home and…" she said before being halted by a giant brown spider. "Oh…are you like the father?" she said before being almost pierced. "Wait, you're the mother?! I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed!" she said, scurrying away as the mother feasted on her own kin as well.

"Okay….that…was scary." she said going into hiding in another part. "Wait…how did I die anyway? I remember being in classical literature. I guess I died somehow and got reincarnated into a spider? Was it a terrorist attack? Natural disaster? Maybe my spirit is just possessing a spider…or this is just some random spider who has my memories." she said. "Hmm…nope! No idea. I think, therefore I am! Still…if this was a light novel…I could get along better with an appraisal skill."

Meaning if I run into some humans, I'm dead meat." she said backing away before her rear hit the ground as a white sticky substance came out. "What the? Wait, is this my webbing? That's right. I'm a spider, so I can make webs." she said before weaving herself a little home to live in and to capture prey. "Hahaha! This is perfect! Perfect for a shut in like me. A shout out to all the NEETs in the…world." she said, rolling out of her place. "Oh…yeah…that's right. I haven't eaten since I was born." she said before looking at her dead sibling. "Well…better than starving to death." she said before going and eating it. "That's so nasty…"

"Could be worse…we could be like that guy." Theo said pointing to a frog struggling in a web.

"Whoa…what is that? A frog?" Kazuma asked.

"Yeah. It's an Elroe Frog. Danger Level E. Not all that dangerous." Ivy said.

"Uh…" Sally said as they saw the spider approaching. "What about that?"

"It's a Small Lesser Taratect, a spider monster. Danger Level F." Ivy said.

"Aw, it's actually kinda cute." Ethox remarked.

"This must be its web. It's about to chow down on Mr. Frog there." Nemo said.

The frog however was not planning to go down without a fight as it spat some poison right in the spider's face.

"Ah! My eye! Poison? Is this poison? Part of my field of vision is missing. But I'm a spider so I have lots of eyes so we're good." she said before dodging the poison shots.

The Ellroe frog spat poison repeatedly at the spider, but she was able to doddge them relatively easily since she knew it was coming. But then she caught another poison shot right on her back.

"Shut it lady!" she said as she started battling the frog before leaping to behind it as she started biting into its back as it continued to spew poison until it soon died.

"Whoa…it killed the frog that easily?" Gobta asked.

"Of course. The fangs of spiders are venomous after all." Ivy said.

Having just realized that now, the spider herself jumped for joy.

"Yes, I did it! I got em, I did it! The first prey I ever caught with my webbing/home! This is the best kind of win-win situation possible. Not only can my webbing hold monsters, they can also wander into them." she said before feasting on the frog. "I don't care if it tastes nasty. I will survive in this world as a spider…I'll survive, period!" she said as she ripped it apart.

"Whoa…that spider is fierce." Theo said. "I have an idea. Let's follow it and then make it the guild mascot after we're done!"

"What? You wanna take that thing home with us?!" Subaru said.

"Why not? She's fierce and she's a good fighter." Theo said.

"Wait, how do you know it's a girl spider?" Subaru said as Theo just shrugged.

"Well, what're you gonna name it?" Sally asked.

"Oh yeah, gotta make sure we recognize it by something." Ethox said. "Hmmm… I'm gonna go with… Kumoko!"

"Okay. I get Kumo cause it's the Japanese word for spider…but what about the extra ko?" Subaru said.

"Easy…it makes her sound more cute." Ethox said.

"Kumoko it is then. We'll be sure to keep an eye on her while we explore." Ivy said.

As the guildmates watching her left, the spider, now known as Kumoko, got a strange sensation as soon as Ethox christened her new name.

"Weird, did somebody just give me a name and I didn't realize it?" Kumoko asked herself. "Eh, it's probably nothing."
