Welcome to a very different fanfic than what I usually write, been playing dungeons and dragons for a few months now and thought, why not write a fanfic about it? Enjoy!

Session 0

Rachel, John, Molly, and Adam sat down at a round table Molly had two binders in front of her and several notes behind them as she took out a 20-sided die and threw it on the table as it rolled and stopped at a 20.

She took a deep breath and spoke "The lich casts power-word kill at Nathaniel the Brave who quickly drops to the floor lifeless." Adam then crushed the soda can, causing the liquid to squirt and stain his hand.

"Come on, I thought I was higher than 100!" He yelled as Rachel pinched her nose in embarrassment at her brother's rant.

Molly continued as she looked at Rachel. "Olpal what do you do?" Rachel was about to respond when the lights were turned off.

"Mom, we were at the end of defeating evil," Adam stated as he and Rachel's mother turned the lights back on in the basement while holding a laundry basket.

"You can do that tomorrow, now please clean up I need dry these."

"Yes, Ma'am." The twins spoke at the same time as they closed the player's handbook and began clearing out the table Molly folded her binders and walked out of the basement and John was folding chairs.

"You know we do have that club option we made," John stated as Rachel and Adma had a look nerve-wracking.

"We've been trying to promote it for two weeks and we're the only ones who've been in it and anyone who joins either leaf cause they don't understand the rules or happen to get one-shotted by a nat 20," Adam replied.

Still worth a shot than getting death touched by a lich again." Rachel stated as the three friends laughed while sorting through a few boxes they were moving.

The following day the three friends walked through the hallway and opened their lockers as a jock cut off Rachel in a letterman jacket. "Rach! You look... a bit worse for were."

"Not now Kyle." Kyle Williams was one of the school's most popular star athletes who constantly studied with Rachel in exchange for doing small favors.

"Anyway, thank you for helping me with that algebra exam." He said.

Rachel didn't look at him. "With what? A burger and fries at the diner? Your not my type." Kyle turned a bit red before replying.

"I mean like joining your board game club thing."

"You mean Dungeons and Dragons." She corrected him.

"Yeah, if you need a tough guy to help you in..."

Rachel cut him off. "Let me stop you there, have you ever been a mighty magic user that can simply conger things out of thin air and summon balls of flaming fire and shoot lightning from your fingertips?" Kyle stuttered a bit trying to find an answer. "Thought so but if your serious meet us in the English class after school and we'll see how much of a tough guy you are."

She then walked to her locker.

After finishing lunch, Molly sat in the library, took out a sketchbook, opened a map book, and began copying a drawing of an island. "Ok, that looks good for a small side quest for..." The book was then closed shut by a pale hand as Molly looked up and saw a girl with ginger hair and a wad of gum in her mouth, which she chewed. "Eating isn't allowed here Charlotte."

Charlotte Brown snickered as she blew a bubble. "And you're here cheating for geometry."

"One that's world history and two this is one passion of mine you can't take from me!" Molly yelled as the librarian shushed them. "Sorry." Charlotte snatched and tore off one of Molly's drawings of a small fairy holding a wand.

"Cute... and it's like a bug, squishable." Quickly and without remorse she crumbled the paper into a ball and tossed it to the floor Molly bent down to retrieve it as she uncrumpled it.

"Your freaking... gnoll," Molly muttered as she left while Charlotte was processing what she was just called.

At afterschool programs Molly, Rachel, Adam, Kyle, and John sat down in chairs next to a combined desk as Molly took out her binders and placed them next to her. "Ok welcome everyone to a new campaign of mine called Temple of the Dark Dracolich." She said as the lights flickered.

"Dragolich? As in dragon lich!?" Adam started as he held his head. "God help us."

Molly then took a deep breath. "Don't worry I'm sure this campaign will last till summer break." She assured him as she took out several character sheets. "Now premade or you're making your own?"

Rachel, Adam, and John took blank sheets as Kyle pondered.

He then asked. "You have anything that fits me?" Molly searched through her pre-made sheets before handing him one as he looked at it. "Half-Orce Barbarian?"

"High strength and health, the type of guy who rushes into things," Rachel stated as her response caused Kyle to start smiling.

"My kind of guy and you?" Rachel then took a pair of 4 6-sided dice and rolled it on the table resulting in an 18.

Molly smiled. "First time you got a roll that high could go nice with any class."

John then rolled his dice and frowned. "Can I reroll that?"

"I'll give you just one reroll but that's it." After the rest rolled Molly then started as every then filled their sheets. "Now everyone introduces yourselves."

Adam then stated first. "I am Norris Diamondguard, the wood-elf druid, he has lived with animals his entire life and vows to protect the forest he calls home."

"Not bad, John?" Molly asked as he stood up.

"I am Iris, the Saytr Hexblade warlock, she was once a market seller before finding a sword that seemed to communicate with her, and now searches for the reason why the blade chose her."

Molly lifted an eyebrow. "Interesting concept." It was Rachel's introduction.

"This is Julia Winters, a Human fighter and member of a mercenary guild, she takes whatever can give her a payload." Molly nodded and looked at Kyle.

"Kyle now let's hear your character." Before he can reply the door opened as Charlotte burst in. "What do you want?" Molly asked.

Charlotte took a chair and sat down "In case any of you forgot, I'm currently the class president meaning I have the authority to shut down any clubs that I see fit like say this place.

"You wouldn't," Molly said as Adam and Rachel stood up to defend her.

"I would but maybe if you show me a demonstration I could change my mind, so yeah make me something awesome." She demanded as Molly huffed before a slight smirk appeared on her face.

"Sure you want to roll for it?" She asked as Charlotte snatched the dice and began rolling getting high and medium numbers Molly put in the stats and skills before handing the sheet back to Charlotte who didn't even bother to look at what she was playing and smiled at the high numbers on the stats.

Molly was about to begin when she took out her guide and opened it as a small sheet of paper fell from the back she looked at it and saw it was an odd poem that she read out loud.

"Freinds around the table, time to celebrate. "

"It's a party, hit the lights, here we go!"

"Waste the night away with a little escape."

"It's a chance to lose control."

"So let's just leave this world behind."

"Everybody come on take a dive."

"What the hell does all this mean?" She questioned and soon the answer was in front of her as the board she had placed on the table began to glow before turning into a large spinning vortex which began to suck everything inside as the clock on the wall stopped completely before the group began to be sucked in also.

The twins quickly held hands as they vanished into it, John was too dumbfounded to do anything, and Kyle made a run for the door before being dragged, and Charlotte simply began to mutter a few prayers all while Molly was silent as the vortex closed and knocked her into a wall as a 20 sided die rolled on the table and landed on a natural 1.

Let me know what you guys and gals think of this first Chapter and quick advice: never let anyone else make your character for you as you'll find out soon.
