Prologue
Heatwave Flamezer was a young man now 20 he just finished his firefighter training and just saved up for his own apartment. He was soon going to start helping out a the fire station there so he was moving out of his parents place. He was the youngest of their three children. He was now a man. "We will miss you so much," Brightflame his mother said.
"Take care son," Heatstroke his father said.
"I will, and I will miss you too," Heatwave said. "I will call you, when I get to my new Apartment." he said.
"Safe trip son," Heatstroke told him.
Heatwave then got into the car and left. He found his new apartment and got settled in. He began his work there and was living a very normal life. He was now 21 it had been a year since he moved in. Then he saw someone new moving into the apartment next door. It was a young lady. "Hello," Heatwave said.
"Oh hello," she said.
"I am Heatwave Flamezer your neighbor," Heatwave said.
"Nice to meet you, I am Quickshadow Congni," Quickshadow said. She had a British accent.
"Your accent is British if I am correct," Heatwave said.
"Yes I just moved here from London, England." Quickshadow said.
"Nice to meet you," Heatwave said.
Heatwave and Quickshadow became fast friends after that. They got along well with each other. They were very good neighbors. Quickshadow was a 20 year old woman who was one of the youngest graduates of medical school. She was now getting her residency done. She was studying to be a pediatrician. She was a hard worker.
About four months after meeting Heatwave noticed he had feelings for Quickshadow. So he came up to her. "Quickshadow would you like to go out on a date with me?" Heatwave asked.
"Of course I would love too," Quickshadow answered.
"Friday?" Heatwave asked.
"Friday," Quickshadow said. "Dinner?" she asked.
"Dinner," Heatwave said. "5:30?" he asked.
"5:30," Quickshadow said.
When Friday came the date went great and they were very happy. It had gone very well. They continued to date each other after that. They had become a couple after that. They were in a relationship. They were very happy.
They had been dating for two years as Heatwave was now 23 and Quickshadow was now 22. Heatwave loved Quickshadow with all his heart and he had a feeling she was the one. He was going to ask her to marry him. He even asked for Quickshadow's father's blessing. He gave him his blessing.
Heatwave picked out a beautiful ring and went out with Quickshadow. They were in restaurant having dinner. Heatwave pulled out the ring. "Quickshadow will you marry me?" Heatwave asked.
Quickshadow was very happy. "Yes!" Quickshadow said and Heatwave put the ring on her finger. Then they kissed each other.
It was a wonderful and happy moment. They told their families the big news it was very exciting.
Heatwave and Quickshadow began to prepare everything. All of Heatwave's relatives and friends were coming as were Quickshadow's friend and relatives. Heatwave and Quickshadow were busy getting ready for the big day. "Okay we decided on the food, the drinks, the flowers, the music, the cake, the date, the venue, our bride's maids, grooms men, maid of honor, and best man, now all we need to do is for me to chose a tux and for you to chose a dress," Heatwave said.
"That's right," Quickshadow said.
Heatwave began to try on many different tuxedos. There were a lot to chose from. Heatwave chose a red tuxedo he looked very handsome in it.
Quickshadow began to try on many different dresses. She chose a satin sweetheart with pleating. She looked so beautiful in it.
On April 8th it was wonderful day for their wedding to begin. Everyone was ready for it and they were super excited about it and ready for it.
Heatwave was standing at the altar and he saw Quickshadow come down the aisle. Her father gave her to Heatwave. They took each others hands and said their vows. Then they kissed each other.
They reception was going well. Everyone was so happy and doing well.
Then Heatwave and Quickshadow got into their car and drove off on their honeymoon.
They were honeymooning in the Florida keys and they were very happy and enjoying it. It was warm and fun in the sun. They just checked into the hotel. They had a nice bed and there was going to be lots of good moments then too.
Heatwave and Quickshadow were having a nice romantic evening with each other. They enjoyed their honeymoon very much. Soon they made it back home.
The continued to work. Quickshadow was almost done with her residency and was going to be a full fledge doctor very soon. Only one year to go until then. Heatwave was doing well in his work and saved many lives and got along well with his fellow firefighters.
Quickshadow made good friends at work and around town. They both soon moved into a nice house. They began to settle in and were very happy. They would have disagreements or got upset with each other for one reason or another but they knew being married was not an easy thing but worth it. They were very happy and very much in love.
They were wondering if they could be any happier. Little did they know that life was going to show them they hadn't seen anything yet. Quickshadow now 23 had just finished her residency and was now a full fledged doctor. She was hoping to maybe find another hospital to work at some day. Things were going well. She saw her doctor recently because she hadn't been feeling well that recently that time in the fall and didn't know what was wrong.
Then the doctor called her. "Hello," Quickshadow said. "Yes I am Quickshadow," she said. "Really? Thank you, yes I will set up an appointment," she said. She was very excited she was pregnant. She was going to have a baby. It was very exciting to say the least. She saw Heatwave who just came in. She came up and kissed him.
"Hello my darling you are in good mood I see," Heatwave said with a smile. He was happy to see her happy, and that she welcomed him like this.
"I have some big news, the doctor called with my test results," Quickshadow said.
"What is it?" Heatwave asked.
"I'm pregnant," Quickshadow said.
Heatwave was amazed and then he picked her up and twirled her around laughing. "This is the best news ever!" Heatwave said.
They were very happy now. The first appointment came. Heatwave and Quickshadow were very happy. "Okay now let's start," the tech said.
Quickshadow was laying down on a bed and then she started to move the wand around her middle. "Things are looking good." the tech said looking a the screen. The little heartbeat was well heard.
It was good thing that their baby was doing well.
The weeks passed and there were more appointments. Now things were looking good. Now that she was three months pregnant they were ready to tell everyone that she was pregnant. Their families were very happy for them. Heatwave's parents were looking forward to having another grandchild with their other five grandchildren. Quickshadow's parents were looking forward to the birth of their first grandchild.
Their coworkers and friends were very happy and excited for them.
They were busy getting ready for their baby. There was a lot to do. They had to be ready for their baby to be born. They got all the things they needed and got the nursery ready in the coming months.
Quickshadow's belly was growing. She started wear maternity clothes.
They found out their baby was going to be a boy. They were very excited about this and hoped it was going to be a wonderful life with their son.
On July 14th a healthy baby boy was born. Heatwave and Quickshadow were very happy and named their son Hot shot.
Then soon the brought him home. Hot shot began to grow, grow, grow and grow. He quickly went from a baby to have an active eight year old. He was very happy, active and healthy child. He was very active he loved to run he loved to jump and he loved to play. He also played sports and he was very good at them too. He played many sports. He played basketball, football, soccer, hockey, track, gymnastics, karate, swimming, tennis and baseball. He was an all star in all of them. He was able to keep up with his school work and chores perfectly. Hot shot was very also very strong and fast not only in body but also in mind.
Heatwave and Quickshadow were so happy they had such a healthy, smart and active son. It made their hearts fill with much pride. They were very happy.
However things were soon going change in a big way. Late that November Quickshadow got a job at another children's hospital in Fort Worth which was far from their home town in Maine. So they began to pack and got ready to move it was going to be a very long trip and they had to be ready for it. They had to be there before Christmas.
Hot shot was kind of sad to leave his home in Maine but he knew that it was good for his mother. He said good bye to his classmates and all his teammates. He was wondering what his new home was going to be like. So he was kind of nervous to say the least. He hoped to have some friends in his new home.
They made it there on the 10th of December. They got all moved in. Hot shot was soon transferred to the new school. He got transferred to class for third grade. He was learning there and met some of his new classmates.
Heatwave got situated at a fire station in Fort Worth. He was doing well there and was being a big help. He also saw his old childhood friends there in Fort Worth who lived there now. He got to spend time with them too.
Quickshadow did well at her new job at Cook Children's Hospital. She was a good doctor and made friends with her new co workers.
The winter soon turned to spring. Then the end of the school year came now school was out for the summer. This is where our story begins.
