Blood, sweat, and tears. That's what it took to get to the peak of my life. My family and everyone around me were proud of me when I lifted that trophy high above my head inside the boxing ring. Under 18 boxing champion in all of Ireland.

life got even better when my local soccer team won the national Cup in extra time 5-4. 1,000 clubs took part and we came out on top. It was a momentous occasion, and to top it all off, I earned player of the tournament after pulling through for the team.

My Basketball team did unfortnunately get knocked out clean out of the nations local team basketball tournament, but we took the loss to heart and put in double the effort for next season.

I finished my school year off with a bang in May, getting above 70 in all exams and asking my crush out which she said yes to. from afar you could called me the happiest boy on earth.

From May to August I was living my dream life, hanging out with the girlfriend everyday, going out and about with the lads, and having the best summer I could have.

Until it all came crumbling down upon me. On August 15th 5.53pm. My Gandfather called down to our house unexpectedley. He said to u he had bad news, and I could see in his eyes it was worse than bad. He sat my brother, sister, and I down in the sitting room. Before he could say a word of news to us he broke down in tears. My sister sat down next to him calming him down with reassuring words.

He wiped his eyes and told us our parents were involved in a car accident resulting in their deaths.

I couldn't believe what he told us. My brother started wailing , my sister crying and began to deny their deaths. I was shocked at the news. I had to get out. I had to get far away. I had to run. So I ran out the door. Ran as far as the eye could see not giving a care in the world if I got knocked down by a car or not.

I eventually jumped over a ditch into a field and stopped in the middle of it dropping down to my knee and letting it all out.

life after that day spiralled downhill afer the accident. I broke up with my girlfriend as I was not in the right mind set for a relationship. she said she understood me tho I have my doubts, and we just remained friends.

After the funeral, we attended the reading of the wills. Only me, my siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents were allowed at it.

The house fell into my Grandparents hands until the day my younger brother Darrgh turned 16. As of the rest of the will, my parents assests were split 3 ways for the 3 of us. Until the day Darragh turned 18 would we be able to claim it.

The last part of the will came as a shocker to everybody. My uncle Brendan who oved to America when he could, were to take custody of us if anything were to happen to my parents.

My parents obviously decided on Brendan as he was capable of supporting us under his roof.

My other uncles and aunts already hae children of their own and are too busy to accomodate us.

My grandparents just weren't able to take us in at their age so Brendan was the only option. He would be the best option in my opinion if he didn't live in another country.

I was only me and Darragh moving over to America as my sister lauren was already 18 and had already moved in with her boyfriend. Se couldn't take us under as she and her boyfriend could only support eac other for the time being.

That left me and Darragh to move to America where my Unle Brendan lived with my 2 cousins, Madison and Trent.

When I got here I was surprised at the enormous house before me. I knew Brendan was fairly well off from his job, but I didn't think he was rich.

His house had 7 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 5 bathrooms, a kitchen, 2 dining areas, 3 studies, an indoor gym, and a games room. Outsie he had swimming pool with a hot tub, and massive lawns. The garage was open so I got to see his Ferrari 458 and Ducati scrambler.

i was in awe of what i saw around he house. he was living everyones dream.

Brendan me to my room and it is fair nice. Bigger and grander than my old room. I had a double bed with 2 bedside lockers. A built in wardrobe into the left wall. On the right wall I had a desk with a tv hanging on the wall above it with my xbox sitting in the top right corner of the desk.

I couldn't thank Brendan enough for this. he was always a great Uncle and friend to have.

After we got settled, Darragh and I went downstairs and Brendan showed us around the house and explained a few things.

Eventually my cousin Trent came back from spending the week at his mothers house. His older sister Madison was staying at a friends house that night so we would see her the next day.

Trent was always more like a brother to me than a cousin. We only aw each other 6 times a year but we would have a great time when hi family came over. We were both 16 but he is turning 17 in November.

We greeted each other with a clasp of hands. He told me he was sorry about my parents and he loved them too. Trent was a good lad. Not a bad word you could say about him. He was there for you when you want to open up to someone. He looked out for my brother Darragh just like any older brother should.

He and Darragh got on great. Treats Darragh like the younger sibling he never had.

Trent and Lauren share the laughs about whatever and would usually find something to annoy someone about., much to their annoyance.

After Trent came back we had dinner and just went straigght to bed after an eventful few weeks.

We spent the next couple of days not doing much so we could ease back into the way we work and live around the house. Brendan was completley understandng about this.

It is now September 2nd and I'm just on my phone trying to distract myelf of the fact that I have school tomorrow.

I'm dreading acing a ton of new people I dont even know, and have to be forced to socialise with thse people. I've already met Trents friend Jason when he came over to hang out at the house before the closing days of the Summer holidays.

Jason is a pretty chill dude from what I can see. Been friends with Trent since they were in- what, kindergarden is it?

I didn't tell him about my parents because no one needs to be knowing that except for my family.

My phone beeped. I look at the notification and see it's one of my friends in Ireland Seamus.

Well Johnny! Have fun in school tomorrow kiddd!! Dont get in too much trouble will ya

Well Seamus! I will off myself way before i actually have fun in school ya donkey. And even if I do try and stay out of trouble, trouble will always be back to bite me in the ass

Ha ha, your'e rightt there. Johnny the magnet for trouble

Any news from the lads?

None. It's weird without you here. It's like there's no life in the team and in class anymore. It's kind of deppressing

Tell me about it. I miss Ireland lad. How's the ex doing?

Cant you just text her?

Bro, I cant. It's too arkward man

Well, I've only seen her twice. I'll tell ya, she doesn't sound too happy at thhe mention of your name

I take full blame for that. I should have come up with a better excuse for the breakup instead of saying my head wasn't in the right mind set for a relationship after the best months of our lives. But it's true like, I'm not in the best head space right now

Johnny, you cant blame yourself for everything. I'm sure she will understand why you decided to breakup with her

Yeah I guess your'e right

Of course I am. I'm always right!!

Shut up lad

Here listen, I gotta get ready for school, talk to ya soon

Talk to ya kid

Enjoy school Johnny!

I turned off my phone and got into bed dreading the day ahead of me in the morning

By the way, I aint Suzanne Collins
