Hello everybody! Nightmare here.
Now you may be wondering what is this? Not an update for The Nameless Midnight. Now I didn't update lately because of school. I hate but sorta like school at the same time. I'm also trying to get my hands on a computer,which a family member is giving me a laptop but can't find the damn charger. But the reason for me making this story now is because I've been thinking and planning this the past week! I can't get this out of my head! But anyways! I welcome you to Monarch DxD:Shadows Rising!
Hm... I should fix that name. Eh another time.
In Japan,The town of Kouh early in the morning there is a male teenager walking towards their school,the formally all girl school Kouh Academy.
The teen is around 5'6ft(167.64cm maybe...)a bit more on the skinner side despite his height. The boy has a handsome face and a sharp chin. He has long onyx hair going past his shoulders that he leaves down and mesmerizing ruby eyes. The Teen looks to be of Japanese and European descendant. He's wearing a black and white school uniform.
This is Yami Nageki,now you may be wondering why does this boy have such a sad surname. Well you see he's a orphan,Yami's father went missing around a month before he was born and his mother only lived long enough to give him his given name. His father a European man didn't have any known relatives and his mother's family refused to raise a "english bastard" though his grandmother was "kind" enough to give him his new surname.
Yami is a lonely teen with only one true friend. Everyone else was indifferent and pitied him or hated him for being half european. Yami could care less about those who hated him but hated those who pitied him.
Yami shook his head as he noticed he was at his school gate and sighed as he walked in. "Yami-chan!" A feminine voice shouted as Yami looked to the figure coming towards him. She was a short and looked young giving her a child like appearance even though she was a third year. She has blonde hair into twin tails and bright blue eyes. She wore a female version of Yami's school outfit. This was Millet Kuromine a third year at Kouh Academy and Yami's best and only friend. They've known each other for the last year when she transfered to the school.
Yami let out a sigh but had a slight smile on his face. "What Millet?" He said sounding annoyed but Millet was unconvinced because of the smile. Millet giggled and slightly pouted. "Ah don't be so mean Yami-chan! Be happy I decided to wait for you." Yami rolled his eyes and said. "Then stop calling me "Yami-chan"." Millet pouted more and went to say something but the school bell rang and sighed. "Let's go." They both started walking to class but no before Yami looked towards a window but saw nothing.
"Yami-chan what's wrong?" Millet asked concerned but Yami just shook his head and said. "It's nothing just thought someone was watching me..." They continued walking but if Yami looked at Millet then he would see her narrow her eyes. 'This is bad. Gremory is watching Yami more lately.' Millet thought.
Back at the window we see the one mentioned. Rias Gremory is a young woman with a proportioned body. She has unique crimson hair and sky blue eyes also wearing the Kouh Academy school uniform. "That was close. He almost saw me." She said.
"Ara Ara. Stalking Nageki-kun again aren't we?" Akeno Himejima said teasingly. Akeno is a black haired and purple eyed young woman also a third year at Kouh Academy.
Rias blushed slightly. "No Akeno! I do not stalk him! I am merely interested in what kind of sacred gear he has." She responded to her friends teasing. "Now please tell me about what you felt from it?" Rias asked as Akeno stood slightly straighter. "Well to be honest it didn't feel like much but felt dark like I was standing in shadows during my time near him. But when Koneko used her senses around him, she said it was as if it was midnight as she felt impowered by him." Akeno finished as Rias looked thoughtful and hummed. "Whatever his sacred gear is it'll be very useful especially if it can also empower us during the night as well. Akeno send Koneko to-" "That won't be necessary." Rias was cut off by a new voice. Both Rias and Akeno look towards the door where they see a young short woman with black hair and purple eyes. She has a bob cut and red rimmed glasses.
This is Sona Sitiri or Souna Shitori her human alias. A third year at school as well. Rias raises an eyebrow. "Why would it not be necessary Sona?" Rias asks curiously and slightly annoyed. Sona smirked and replied. "Because you won't be getting Nageki-san for your peerage." She said this with a slightly smug tone. Rias eyes widened and she growled. "What do you mean I won't be getting him in my peerage?" Rias asked quite angry. Sona just looked neutrally at Rias. "It's quite simple Rias. I let you have Hyoudou. It's only fair that you let me have Yami Nageki-san." She said with a bit of steel in her voice. Rias glares at her but says. "Fine. You can have Nageki-san."
Sona smiles slightly. "Thank you Rias. Now I have to get to homeroom." Sona leaves as Rias and Akeno look at each other. Rias then states. "Akeno tell Koneko to keep an eye on Nageki-kun." Akeno nods then says. "Rias we're late for first period." She says with a very casual tone. Rias eyes widened as she runs straight out of the door.
It is lunch period for Yami and Millet. They are currently on the roof. Millet is laying her head done on Yami's shoulder while he's eating. Yami was slightly surprised but allowed it though it did make him curious. 'She's quite clingy today. Hopefully everything is okay.' He thought as he finished up eating.
"Hey Millet is everything okay?" He asked as she sat up. "Yes everything's fine. Why do you ask?" She answers as he looks slightly concerned. "Well today you've been more clingy, and a lot more touchy. So is everything alright?" Yami asks as Millet frowns slightly before smirking. "Oh am I making you uncomfortable." She leans into his ear before whispering. "Yami-kun~" She finished and leaned back to see Yami's face light up red. "S-stop teasing me. And don't you redirect the question!" He yelled and pointed at her.
Millet just laughs and smiles at him. "Everything's fine Yami. I just had some problems at home. Nothing to big." She finishes as Yami calms down and smiles at her. "Okay I know you don't get along with your family. But you do know that you can stay over my place if you want. You've done so before." Says Yami as he stood up with Millet. "I know,I know it's more comfortable over your place anyway but everything was resolved at home." Millet says but her voice wavers a bit. Yami raises an eyebrow. "You sure?" He asks as she nodded. "I'm sure but do you want to head to the Arcade when school's over?" Millet asks as Yami stopped with and smiled. "Yeah but get ready to get your ass beat." He says as she looks offended. "Me! I'm sorry mister but you're the one getting your ass beat!" Millet yells as they laugh heading down the steps.
After school they head to the Arcade where it's pretty even until Millet starts "cheating" as Yami claimed. They have a great time at the arcade and even went to get dinner before heading towards a Manga store they like. Yami wanted to head home due to how late it was but didn't want to leave Millet alone at night.
All of sudden Millet stopped and started shaking and muttering something. Yami goes up to her looking concerned. "Millet what's wrong? What are you muttering?" He asks her but feels immense pain in his chest and spits out blood. "W-what?" Yami looks down to see a spear of light of all things in his chest and looks at the hand holding it. It was Millet with tears running down her face. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry." She cries as the spear vanishes and he falls down to the ground. "I couldn't let them kill you. They would torture you and I wouldn't be able to stop them so I..." Millet breaks down again crying before she knelt next to him. "I love you..." She kissed him covering her lips and clothes in blood. They stayed like that for a minute before Millet stands up.
"Goodbye Yami..." Black beautiful Raven wings sprout from Millet's back as she flies away crying. Yami just lays there dying wondering if this is just a dream before closing his eyes seeing one last thing.

And so begins the story of Yami Nageki,The King of The Dead. I love Solo Leveling and Highschool DxD despite it's many flaws and I can never find a crossover for them. I can't wait for the next chapter of the side stories to come out nor can I wait for the anime of Solo Leveling.
Poor Millet forced to kill her first true friend and love. Hopefully people like this version of Millet.
