Ch One

Bilbo clutched an arm of one very stubborn Thorin Oakenshield while Dwalin clutched the other as they helped Thorin to the front gate of Erebor. Thorin's little sister, Dis, would be arriving at the mountain shortly. Thorin had made clear his desire to greet his little sister upon her arrival; not 100% since the battle, Thorin still struggled to get around; having a blade stab completely through the bottom of his foot to come up out through the top didn't exactly do Thorin a solid favor - making it hard for the Dwarf King to get around. Thorin tried to wave anybody off who tried helping.

"For the last time!" Thorin protested, "I don't need-"

"Don't bother finishing that sentence." Dwalin chided, "you aren't invincible, and what would your father think if you somehow ended up worse than you were before?" Dwalin added, "or your sister, better yet?"

Laughter rang through the whole mountain when Thorin grunted in protest; bouncing off of the stone walls and leaving a loud echo that lasted for half a minute. "Plus we're friends." Bilbo pointed out, "we would be horrible friends if we didn't help you."

"Still so stubborn and hard headed I see." A female voice spoke up before anyone else could say anything. Bilbo and Dwalin had helped Thorin out onto the "front porch" of Erebor; followed at their heels by the Company of Dwarves that had tagged along with Thorin during the quest. Thorin stopped walking and the group surrounded him.

Walking up to Thorin, a female Dwarf with long black hair, blue eyes, thick black eyebrows, a strong defined face, button nose, pale pink lips, a toned, slender body and a beaming smile, pulled Thorin into a hug.

"Hi little sister." Thorin planted a kiss to the hairline of the female Dwarf. "How have you been?"

"Hi Thorin - I'm better, now that I'm home. It's been too long. I've missed you tons."

"Indeed." Thorin agreed, "I've missed you, too."

"AMAD!" An excited Fili and Kili pushed through the group so they could hug their mother.

"Hi, my darlings." Dis planted a kiss to her boys' hairline. "I have missed you two as well."

The rest of the Dwarves greeted Dis with warm hellos and bows.

Bilbo smiled warmly at Thorin's sister when her eyes turned to him.

"Who is this?" Thorin clasped Bilbo's shoulder with a strong hand as Dis asked her question. "Dis, this is Bilbo Baggins. He's the Hobbit who helped me during the quest - who helped us reclaim our home.

Thorin looked to Bilbo. "Bilbo, this is my little sister, Dis, who also happens to be Fili and Kili's mother." Bilbo clasped Dis' hand as Thorin gave the introductions - surprised at the amount of strength in her grip.

"Hi." Dis smiled.

"Good evening." Bilbo warmly greeted.

Bilbo felt something change in the air when his hand touched Dis,' and color painted both of their cheeks as sparks ignited warmth in their stomachs.
