"I love when we go out together."

Santana smiles, dipping her head shyly and avoiding the girl's soft blue gaze as they sit together alone at a Breadstix table. Brittany has a way of putting her at ease with just a few words, regardless of how nervous she's feeling. The blonde is wearing the cutest lilac dress while Santana's own dress is black, both of them all dressed up and wearing high heels.

"Me too." The darker-haired girl admits softly.

"Oh no. My food is cold," Brittany's smile drops when she takes a bite and Santana feels bad for the girl. She's just about to signal Sandy the waitress to come over and then go all Lima Heights on the manager of the establishment when she gets a better idea. While Brittany's distracted, Santana discreetly leans over and touches her plate. By the time she's done, it's steaming. Brittany looks surprised but relieved when she tries her food again and that happy look returns to her face. "Maybe I was wrong. It's perfect."

They joke around like they always do, casually talking about how school has been and Brittany tells her about how Lord Tubbington has been acting up lately since he joined a new gang. Before Santana realizes it, she registers the fact that she and Brittany's faces are barely an inch apart. She leans away, clearing her throat and trying to ignore the way the tension just flared up between them.

Regardless of what she and Brittany get, Santana knows Brittany will be stealing some of hers and she thinks it's cute. She feeds Brittany some of her spaghetti twirled around her fork because she can't resist the adorable way the girl giggles and she closes her eyes, taking a deep breath to ground herself when the taller girl leans over to wipe the side of her lip with a napkin, her face so close to hers again.

The inner fire is getting worse. Now it's not just what comes out of Santana but how it feels inside of her. She's in almost constant pain and the heat feels almost unbearable. She can barely look Brittany in the eye as those butterflies she feels around the girl seem to get worse by the day. She notices Brittany looking at her and cocks her head to the side, raising a shark, black eyebrow with amusement.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that, Britt?"

"Is this supposed to be a date?"

Santana nearly chokes on a sip of water at the girl's words as Brittany watches her closely with adoration in her striking blue eyes. She's breathless all at once, especially when Brittany leans over and touches her arm. It's getting harder to breathe these days around Brittany. She feels like all of the oxygen is getting consumed.

"What? Brittany?" Santana glances around cautiously, noticing the groups of teen girls that are sitting in tables nearby. Quinn and her friends seem to have overheard Brittany and are staring at them judgmentally then laughing mockingly. Santana speaks loudly, completely flustered. "N-no! Of course not. Don't be ridiculous, Britt."

"I don't know," Brittany shrugs, apparently unfazed by Santana's denial. "It feels like one."

"How did you arrive at that conclusion?"

"It's just that you ask to come here with you alone on Friday night… and you told me no boys allowed ever and we always get all dressed up, then you bring me flowers when you pick me up from my house and we go to dinner together. You start by telling me how pretty I am and open the car door for me then offer me your hand. You always know my favourite order and I know yours. We have a great time, we dance, then you pay and we makeout after in your car for like half an hour then you get all flustered with that funny look on your face and say you have to go home before your mom and Abuela freak out about you breaking curfew. So to be honest, Santana, I think we're on a date."

Santana's eyes widen and dart around, just to make sure no one has heard Brittany's admission, even though the blonde is speaking in a soft whisper that she knows would be practically impossible for anyone else to hear. She tenses up, every nerve in her body on edge.

For the most part, Santana can see happy couples sitting around at other tables, laughing and touching each other, leaning close to each other. It makes her squirm self-consciously, thinking about how they're basically the same as her and Brittany. Deep down, she thinks Brittany makes a good point but right now, it's not what she wants to hear.

"Whoa, what?! Of course not. It's not a… " Santana feels guilty, swallowing hard at the way Brittany's face falls when the Latina begins to deny it. She shakes her head quickly. "I don't want you to get the wrong idea."

"If you wanted to ask me on a date, you should have just said that," Brittany chirps and smiles calmly while Santana freaks out even more, almost burning the glass she's holding. "I'm even wearing that dress you like on me so much."

Santana lets her gaze drift over Brittany's body against her better judgement because she can't help it. There's a lot to her relationship with Brittany that she just can't seem to help because everything about the blonde is so tempting that the logical parts of Santana's mind seem to stop functioning when she's around the girl.

She resists the urge to tell the girl how much better that dress would look on her bedroom floor. Something about the way Brittany's looking at her feels way too intimate.

She feels a hand on her shoulder and Brittany looks at her with worried eyes after a long moment of silence between them. Santana can't bear it.

"Is something bothering you? You know you can tell me anything."

Santana just shakes her head, taking another sip of her drink. She has many problems but nothing she wants to burden Brittany with.

"No. Nothing's wrong. I'm fine."

It's a complete lie and judging by Brittany's expression, she knows that. Santana swallows down the fire that threatens to burst out of her. Her chest and back ache, as if the flames are burning through her from the inside out.

Santana clutches her chest and pants heavily when she gets home, her heart beating fast as the surge of frustration that wells up in her feels like liquid fire churning in her stomach then before she knows it she's doubling over in pain, vomiting a wave of fire pathetically that she smothers with a thick blanket.

If she isn't careful, she'll set off the fire alarm again and alert her mom. She feels unbearably hot. She's lucky that yet again, no one figures it out when she accidentally sets fire to the bank downtown when she spots some guy from their school flirting openly with Brittany a few days later in that store across the street.

Santana is looking all over for her best friend after class and frowns at the sight of Brittany and Finn talking to each other in hushed voices in the library all alone. She doesn't understand why the blonde is suddenly oh so close to Kent. It drives her insane the next day when sees Brittany talking to him yet again by the entrance to the school. They're both smiling and leaning close to each other as Finn whispers something to her. Santana's jaw drops in outrage and her blood boils when Finn gives the girl a hug and pats her on the head.

It's not really a new thing to see Brittany chatting up some guy in school but for some reason the very idea of Brittany and Kent stings more than anything else has in a while.

"Why was he talking to you?" She practically snarls before she can stop herself when she catches up with Brittany after school. It finally bursts out of her after she has been unable to think about anything else all day, practically setting fire to her desk when she sees Brittany waving to Finn in class earlier.

"Who?"

"Kent. I saw you guys chatting. Seems like you're pretty close from what I could tell. What were you gushing about to him that's so fascinating?"

She can't help the whiny note that enters her voice, folding her arms over her chest defensively and looking away, determined not to let Brittany see how bothered she is by it.

"Oh, you mean Finn. We're friends, I think. He's pretty cool," The tall girl shrugs, as if it's no big deal. It annoys Santana that Brittany deflects, not really answering her question. "He even gave me a drop home in his truck a few days ago when you were busy."

"No, he's not cool," Santana argues heatedly. It annoys her to no end to think of Brittany hanging out with that guy and the thought of the girl flirting with him just kills her inside. "He dropped you home?! Since when have you been all into that loser?"

"I don't know, he doesn't seem too bad. I think you should talk to him, Santana. About whatever's been bothering you, I mean. Even if you don't want to talk to me about whatever it is, he might be able to help."

"I told you, nothing's bothering me," She insists hotly, in disbelief that Brittany would ever suggest such a thing. "And believe me, Kent is the last person I'd go to for advice unless I was trying to win a butter eating competition."

"Aren't you curious about what you could actually do with your powers?"

Santana looks up and scowls at the sound of Finn Kent's teen boy voice as he slumps against a nearby wall, crossing his arms over his chest and grinning at her. She's alone, Brittany having left earlier when her mom picked her up to take her to some dance class. The black-haired girl knows exactly what he's talking about and she's so not in the mood to talk about this… this issue she has especially after seeing the boy all chummy with Brittany so she defensively snaps.

"What are you saying? Stop yammering on about some bullshit, Kent."

Finn continues to go on, undeterred by how dismissive Santana is even though she thinks she has made it more than clear that she wants nothing to do with his corny comic book ideas about the world.

"I'm talking about your powers. Aren't you curious about what abilities you might have that are untapped? Don't you want to unlock them? You could help people, Santana. You could do so much."

This Kent kid is crazy. He acts like she has been given some great blessing when in reality Santana would give anything to get rid of the curse.

"Of course not! This… this mutation… It's like a curse and I just want it to end so I can be free. I'm not some lab experiment for you and your dad to gawk over, Lumps. If you want to fucking fly around in a cape pretending to be a big hero so you can pat yourself on the back about how great you are that's you but that will never be me."

Finn bristles, his eyes narrowing in annoyance and he opens his mouth as if to argue but he seems to think better of it and Santana smirks when he backs down. Of course the clown isn't gonna have a good comeback for that one, she thinks. He switches to a different tactic as she walks faster to get away from him.

"You should tell her."

"What?"

She pretends to not know even though she freezes mid-step and forgets how to breathe.

"Tell Brittany how you feel about her."

How the hell could this idiot have known? A fool like Kent of all people? Was she really that obvious? At the thought of Brittany, butterflies erupt and for yet another moment those intense feelings toward the girl are all she can think about. First he tries to make a move on her girl and now he's trying to lecture her on how to get her?

"What the hell are you talking about Finnocence?" Santana looks up at the teen in complete annoyance once she finally composes herself, humiliated at what had just happened. "Why are you still following me?'

Finn sighs deeply and seems to run out of patience, a harsher edge to his voice as he speaks up again.

"Look, I'm not going to bother you again but I'm just saying… the constant fires everywhere you go? It's pretty obvious what's happening. I have a theory."

"And what's that?"

"It's your intense emotions that are causing the fires. You're in love with her and you're too scared to admit it, aren't you? You've always been in love with her. That's why you keep accidentally setting stuff on fire. The thing about fire is that it consumes everything it touches if you don't control it. Santana, you need to learn to control it or it's going to really hurt someone. It's already hurting you and you're going to burn yourself alive if you aren't careful."

Santana attempts to play it off and pretend Finn hasn't touched a nerve even though she's breaking down inside.

"Who says I'm in love with her?"

Finn just lets out a long sigh, shaking his head and speaks slowly, as if he's trying to explain something to an argumentative toddler.

"Santana, c'mon."

"Why do you even care? We're not friends, we never have been. I've bullied you and your girlfriend this entire time… besides, you seemed to be all over Brittany yourself just the other day."

Finn just blinks at her in confusion, that signature dumb look on his face then shakes his head like a dog with water in its ears.

"I care because it's sad to see how much you're suffering and because it's my duty to protect this town, including you even if you hate me and Rachel. You're constantly putting everyone in danger with your unstable emotions and you refuse to learn how to control them. Trust me, I know how it feels to be so into a girl that you can't think straight but you gotta just express how you feel because it's not healthy to keep all of those feelings bottled up."

"Look, my- my feelings for her are… they're none of your business. So back the fuck off or I'll singe your creepy pyramid nipples off. Maybe I'll turn em into creme brûlée."

"My nipples aren't the ones you're into though, are they? They're not girl nipples… or Brittany nipples."

"Oh, feeling sassy are we? Just shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about."

"You've got to tell her how you feel, Santana. If you suppress your emotions anymore, it's going to eat you alive completely and burn you up from the inside out."

Santana just shakes her head, flipping him off as she swaggers away.

"Just listen and stop being so stubborn. Tell her about it."

Santana scowls but can't think of a good comeback. She'd like to turn the meteor mutant into burnt toast.

"By the way, Kent, don't ever talk about Brittany's nipples again or I'll roast you alive. Got it?"

"Loud and clear." Finn laughs as he walks away.

Santana groans, bashing her head against the table later that night as her mom plays one of her favourite songs, the lyrics haunting her with thoughts of Brittany even as she tries to distract herself with Saturday chores before she goes to her job shift later.

She's a real nice girl and she's always there for you

But a nice girl wouldn't tell you what you should do

Oh, listen boy I'm sure that you think you got it all under control

You don't want somebody telling you the way to stay in someone's soul

You're a big boy now and you'll never let her go

But that's just the kind of thing she ought to know

Tell her about it, tell her everything you feel

Give her every reason to accept that you're for real

Tell her about it, tell her all your crazy dreams

Let her know you need her, let her know how much she means

Everything changes suddenly when a smirking Sue Sylvester proudly presents her prized student, Santana with a gold necklace adorned with an eye-catching, dark ruby-red crystal pendant in the shape of a flame as a gift for the co-captain of their team for helping to lead the cheerleading team to victory at Nationals.

The piece of jewellery is stunning and looks like it must cost a fortune, which Santana knows everyone else is well aware of. The other Cheerios stare in shock and jealousy, as Sue has never been the type to give rewards to anyone.

Santana smirks as their captain, Quinn visibly seethes, her arched eyebrow twitching as she watches the exchange between her beloved mentor and her rival. The hazel-eyed blonde's own gift of a pat on the back and a gift certificate to one of Sue's favourite tanning salons is beyond lame in comparison. Santana barks out a laugh. So much for Quinn being Sue's favourite.

Santana feels on top of the world and thinks this is probably what being on cocaine might be like. Suddenly nothing matters and she has all of the energy in the world. She shoves Quinn out of the way bodily when the girl tries to confront her, much to her frenemy's shock. Quinn's jaw drops and hazel eyes flash in annoyance but Santana can care less.

"Where are you going?" Brittany asks and looks at Santana in surprise and confusion when the girl doesn't show any indication of heading in the direction of their Glee Club practice after that.

She glances at Santana and her lips part, no doubt noticing how Santana has changed out of her Cheerios uniform into a leather jacket over a dark red shirt and the tightest pair of black jeans she owns. Of course, the gold and ruby necklace is on full display. Santana just grins proudly, shoving her stuff into her locker roughly and swaggering away without a care in the world. "You look so hot, especially with that necklace. Are you skipping Glee?"

"You bet. We don't need them, Baby Doll," Santana grins wolfishly, gently playing with Brittany's hair and is pleased to see the blush that rises to the girl's cheeks. "Come have some fun with me, Princess. I'll take you for a ride."

"A ride?" Brittany repeats in a nervous little voice. "Wait, you want me to ride you? Like, right here by the lockers? I don't know, Santana, we might get suspended."

Santana does feel heat rush up to her face but unlike the flustered state she'd usually be in, she just feels brave and powerful. She suddenly wonders why she ever felt the need to keep secrets. Why shouldn't she show off for once in her life and finally get some enjoyment out of it? Consequences be damned.

"Maybe later if you're a good girl, Britt-Britt. Don't worry, though. We're gonna have a great time. I'm about to show you what your girl is really capable of."

Brittany blinks at her but doesn't pull away when Santana grabs her hand and leads her away, lacing their fingers together. Santana struts through the school in complete confidence with her shoulders back and head held high like a boss, watching all of the peasants and knowing she's better than them all.

She takes her hair out of its tight, high ponytail just because she feels like and shoves her pair of aviator sunglasses on. The taller girl gasps when Santana drapes her arm around her waist in public, not pulling away even when other students come into view, staring at the two of them.

"Check this out, Britt." Santana boasts, creating a large flame from thin air that hovers above her open palm and feeling ecstatic at the way Brittany squeals in delight.

"Wow, you're so amazing."

They reach the car park but instead of going in the direction of Santana's red car, Santana turns her attention to another one.

"What are you doing? You look angry."

"It's Chad's car. Don't you remember? That asshole who spread the rumour about you sleeping with him and his footballer friends last week," Santana snarls, clenching her fist. "He won't be needing that piece of junk anymore."

The Latina doesn't think too much about it, unleashing a stream of fire that completely incinerates the car before laughing loudly at her destruction. She shows off more than she normally would, releasing a powerful torrent of flame that's massive compared to anything she has created before and watches Brittany's awestruck face. She loves all of the girl's attention being on her.

Before anyone can see who started the fire, Santana just quickly pulls the girl away and leads them to her car. Brittany just keeps staring at her as if she's turned into an alien when Santana just chuckles as she speeds out of school before anyone can catch her, tearing down the street at a death-defying speed with Brittany in the passenger seat. Santana turns on the radio, blasting music and banging her head along with it. Eventually Brittany joins in with her and they both laugh loudly at the thought of Santana making that douche Chad's car explode.

Santana sets her sights on a few more places around town that get on her nerves, spreading fire uncontrollably as she releases blast after blast from her fists and laughs maniacally. She steals whatever she wants for her and Brittany. The sight of a girl with her hands on fire has just about everyone running away from her in fear, even some of the thugs from the most dangerous part of Metropolis.

Santana is furious and grabs some thug's arm, burning it when he says something perverted to Brittany, until the guy screams like a little girl and runs away.

She looks over at Brittany with a smirk, hoping she will be impressed but instead there's a sad look on the girl's face that Santana doesn't understand.

"Santana… I don't know about this. It's too much. I really don't want you to get in trouble."

They can hear police sirens in the distance. Brittany's face is pure white with fear and Santana feels guilty and hates the thought of scaring the girl but that uncomfortable feeling passes quickly as she shakes her head, on top of the world again as she touches the pendant on her necklace, playing with it.

"Don't worry. I'm here to protect you."

Santana lifts Brittany up with a strength she has never possessed before and holds her in her arms. Brittany gasps then wraps her arms around Santana's neck tightly. Santana uses her flames for jet propulsion to hover above the ground, then fly away with the girl at a high speed. Then she realizes with a frown that she has company and sets Brittany down, promising to return to her right after she deals with the annoyance of Finn Kent and Rachel Luthor… and Smallville's resident superhero.

It's a cat and mouse game between her and Superman of all people who appears on the scene. At first, she can't quite believe he's real and laughs to herself. She uses her fire powers to zip around town, creating an explosion in a nearby building to distract the hero. She thinks she has finally lost him and is smug about that fact. Thinking that she can outsmart Superman is pretty good for her ego. Then she goes looking for her girl.

Santana's heart leaps into her throat not long after that when she watches from a distance as a car races by on the street, narrowly missing Brittany in the girl's distracted state, after Santana had been the one who promised to protect her.

She rushes to her using her jet propulsion but someone else is much faster. Finn Kent is holding a shaken looking Brittany in his arms bridal style.

Santana fumes, angry at herself for not being there in time and overcome with jealousy as she watches Finn walk Brittany into The Talon with his hand placed on her shoulder comfortingly. She follows them and finds the two of them standing close together again, whispering something she can't quite make out.

To say Santana sees red is an understatement. The ruby-red pendant on her neck seems to flare brighter as her swirling emotions intensify. She pushes in between the two forcefully, gritting her teeth and growling at Finn like a rabid animal as she shoves him back with a strength she never has possessed before.

"Don't you fucking touch her."

Finn blinks in confusion and almost laughs at her as if she's the weird one.

"Huh? Santana what's going on?" Then he lowers his voice, turning to her in a more confrontational manner with a serious frown on his face. "I know what you've been up to at school and around town. I don't know what's going on with you but you need to stop right now."

Santana doesn't register what he's saying, her focus on Brittany the entire time. She feels like an animal claiming her mate and the words come ripping from her throat in a low growl that's more venomous than her voice has ever been as she glares. She advances on Finn threateningly with a flaming hand and he easily dodges the wave of fire she pelts at him with super speed.

"Did you not hear what I just said? You have your own woman, Kent and last time I checked she's short and brunette. Brittany is mine. She's my woman and if you even think about stealing her away from me I will torch you."

Finn backs away from the two of them, holding up his hands defensively. Rachel shrieks in outrage at Santana's accusation, standing closer to Finn and latching onto his arm.

"As if, Finn would ever," The short girl declares. "I'll have you know that Brittany is not remotely his type."

"Whoa, whoa, stealing her away from you? Calm down, I'm not…" Finn hastily retreats from Santana as she gives him a look that spells murder. Clearly, the last thing anyone wants is more trouble with the girl who has recently become an unstoppable force of villainy in the small town.

"Then what's going on between you two? What's the big secret that I'm not allowed to know about?"

"Santana, it's not like that. You don't need to do this. Don't hurt him." Brittany pleads, pushing Santana's arm away when she goes to attack Finn. Rachel shouts angrily at Santana and by now everyone in the coffeehouse has turned around to find out what's causing the commotion.

"Why? You're defending your boyfriend?" Santana accuses in a broken voice, feeling like her worse fear is materializing. The thought of Brittany loving someone more than her makes her whole body hurt. Nothing could feel worse. "After all this time, you really just wanted him all along?"

"Santana, you know that's not true. We were talking about you. All this time, I asked Finn if he knew how to help you. We've only been talking about you the whole time we've been friends," Brittany finally breaks down into tears as she faces Santana. "It's because we care about you and it breaks my heart so much to see you in pain. That's the only reason I've been hanging out with Finn. He's my last hope and I didn't know how else to save you."

Santana is stunned into silence, not expecting this. Seeing Brittany crying because of her is too much for Santana to bear and she momentarily stops her angry tirade against Finn. Almost enough until her anger takes over again, this time at herself and she curses to herself for ruining everything.

The small brunette beside Finn points at Santana's ruby-red and gold necklace.

"Don't you guys see? It's the red meteor rock. That's why she's acting so strangely and has the delusional idea that my boyfriend is into Brittany. That necklace is poisoning your mind, Santana." Rachel tells her but Santana ignores both of them as she prepares to strike out… at what or who she doesn't know but she's boiling.

"Santana…" Brittany whispers softly, putting a hand on her shoulder. Her voice makes Santana's face gentle for a moment but even Brittany's touch is not enough to stop the hypnotizing effect of that red crystal she's wearing on her necklace. "I think she's right. You should take it off. Please take it off."

Brittany might like to think she is the only one who could ever persuade Santana but it seems like the red rock has a mind of its own and it's like a temptress, seducing Santana away from Brittany… twisting her mind any way it wants. At the moment, it makes her feel like being brutal and holding absolutely nothing back. She ignores their requests and instead becomes possessive over Brittany again as her impulsive side takes over.

"She's beautiful, she's innocent, she's the only thing that's good in this fucking awful world and she's way too perfect for you. Fine, maybe I'm not good enough for her either but I'll fucking burn you alive if you try to touch my girl."

"Your girl?" Brittany repeats, wide-eyed. She sounds really happy about that.

"That's right, Baby. You're my princess and everyone should know that." Santana wraps her arms around her waist and pulls her close, dipping her to kiss her fiercely in front of everyone in The Talon. Brittany tenses up at first but then closes her eyes, melting completely for a moment.

Santana bites down hard on her neck in a way that is sure to leave a mark for everyone to see and Brittany whimpers but doesn't protest at all and clings to the darker girl. Some of the guests wolf whistle at them while others just stare in shock.

Finn and Rachel's jaws are dropped, sharing a look of confusion with each other.

"What's got into you, Santana?" Brittany asks in a dazed, breathless voice.

"The same thing that's about to get into you," Santana chuckles, thinking about the next joyride she can take Brittany on. "C'mon, Beautiful. We got places to be."

"Not so fast, Santana."

Santana attempts to make her getaway but finds Kent standing in front of her, blocking her way with his massive barrel-shaped body. Santana grunts in annoyance, unleashing a blast of flame at the man's face and it hits him full on. Kent grabs her, throwing her bodily into a wall fifteen feet away and she collides with it painfully. The adrenaline rush somehow makes her unable to feel any of the pain she normally would as she picks herself back up and makes a run for it, making sure that Brittany is safe and assuring her that she'll be back for her.

It's a race through the town as Finn Kent disappears but she eventually catches the familiar sight of a red and blue blur coming toward her. She hurls a massive tornado of fire in Superman's direction and he simply blows it out, with that same type of super breath ability Finn has.

Santana lifts her hand, gathering power to send another wave of fire in the superhero's direction but before she knows it, her entire body is soon covered in a layer of ice and she shivers, unable to break out of it. Superman stands over her with a disapproving, unamused expression. Finn and Brittany soon catch up to them and the blonde runs to her side, tears sliding down her cheeks.

"Brittany! Dad! The necklace!" She hears Finn shout weakly and Santana freezes when Brittany's arms are around her, carefully pulling that gold necklace off despite her protests. Brittany frowns, throwing the necklace on the ground beside Finn and looking at it with fear and repulsion written all over her face. "Destroy it!"

Superman shoots laser beams from his eyes that melt the red stone to nothing within a few seconds. Santana passes out in Brittany's arms when it's all over and they break her out of the ice.

Though Kent reminds her that she wasn't in her right mind, Santana can't even begin to describe her level of embarrassment when it's all over and memories trickle back to her. Finn and his father, who turns out to be none other than Superman himself, manage to put out all of her fires and even remove memories of that weird day from the minds of most of Smallville's citizens who claim to have seen a superpowered pyromaniac causing chaos around town.

Superman… who's really some nerdy looking middle-aged journalist called Clark Kent, gives her a stern warning about staying away from red kryptonite then they even force Santana to help them repair everything, even though they could easily do the work with their super strength and speed. It figures that Finn's dad is just as much of a lame goodie goodie as he is. Chad's car is gone for good though, no explanation other than a random fire and that makes Santana smirk. Her entire body hurts as she recovers from the fight and she feels lucky that she didn't break every bone.

Brittany's one of the few who remembers everything about her kryptonite-fueled rampage.

"I'm sorry, Brittany," Santana sighs, dropping her face into her hands when she visits the girl a few days later. "Something just came over me. I know I hurt you and embarrassed you and that's the last thing I'd ever want."

Brittany leans in close, cupping her cheek.

"You kissed me. In front of everyone. The way I've always dreamed of."

Santana stares at her in shock, her heart racing.

"Britt, that's what you really wanted?"

"Of course."

The blonde's lips are against hers before she knows what's happening. There's that fire in her veins again, longing building up inside of her and without realizing she's doing it at first, she grinds her hips up against Brittany's.

"Santana." Brittany giggles in between kisses. Santana is embarrassed but Brittany doesn't pull away and rolls her hips back against hers as the darker girl finds the pale skin of her neck. "It's just… Why did you react like that when you thought Finn and I were together?"

"I… I don't know." Santana lies.

"I think I know."

Brittany smiles warmly at her. It's a relief that the girl isn't holding any of the more humiliating things she did against her but Santana wants more, so much more with her. Santana sighs, thinking back to the advice she got about expressing her feelings. She just wants the fear and pain and the constant repression to stop. It takes all the courage she can muster but she finally sits up, looking Brittany straight in the eye and her voice trembles.

"Brittany, the truth is… I'm in love with you. I've always been in love with you. I've tried to say it so many times before but I couldn't. The thought of you with anyone else makes me so jealous. I just want to be with you."

Santana is suddenly terrified as soon as she utters the words out loud.

"I'm so in love with you too."

Their lips meet and everything feels so natural, so right with the world as they fall into bed together. This is the same bed they have slept in together so many nights and now Brittany is pleading with her for more.

"You're so hot right now."

"Y-you're hot too, Britt."

"No, I mean, your body is actually really hot. It's kind of steaming."

Santana inhales sharply, self-conscious suddenly as she feels the temperature of the room climbing sharply, She has to struggle to control herself.

"You feel good. So, so good," Brittany nuzzles against her cheek, then against her neck, pulling Santana's body closer as if she can't get enough of the warmth. "You always feel so good. It's cold out tonight and you're like my own hot water bottle."

"Wait… I…"

"What's wrong? Don't worry. Kiss me, Baby." Brittany hums against her ear, her hands running over Santana's back and shoulders. The feeling of Brittany's lips tracing over the shell of her ear, then her neck and jaw makes her close her eyes. They both are in a mad rush to get each other's clothes off, tossing them anywhere on the ground and then it's her bare skin against Brittany's cooler skin. Brittany's body is so soft and smooth. She tries desperately to focus.

Brittany grabs her left wrist, spreading her thighs and gives Santana such a come hither look that the Latina can barely function. Santana parts her folds with two fingers and finds Brittany completely wet for her. She closes her eyes and encases her fingers in Brittany's warmth and wishes she could go even deeper as she inhales sharply at how tight and wet the girl feels.

She can barely think after that as she continues to pump into her. Hot breaths and girlish whimpers against her ear. A steadying hand on her shoulder. Brittany arching up into her and crying out as she comes.

Brittany's hand is between their bodies, touching her too and the sensations of Brittany coming on her, Brittany's soft moans, their damp, hot skin pressed together as Santana is flush against her body, Brittany's curves and soft lips, and her soft fingers touching her just right are too much. Her mind goes blank from the pleasure as she's on the verge of climax. Then she finally does, gasping into the girl's mouth.

"Brittany… oh Brittany."

Scorching heat bursts out of Santana. She inhales sharply and pulls Brittany close, horrified when the flames erupt around them, burning the bed frame and spreading to the mattress. Brittany jumps out of the bed just in time. Santana rushes for the fire extinguisher she's so thankful she thought to keep in Brittany's childhood bedroom once she's able to snap into thinking clearly again. She looks up at Brittany apologetically.

"It's okay. I needed a new bed anyway." The girl lets out high-pitched peals of laughter. In fact, she laughs until she's practically bent over at the waist, wiping a tear from her eye. Santana can't understand how she can be so calm about this.

"Oh my God… Brittany, I'm so sorry. I'll help you clean this up."

The girls end up cleaning Brittany's room and getting rid of the charred remnants of Brittany's bed. The blonde giggles the entire time but Santana still looks up at her with a sheepish expression, humiliated that this whole thing has happened because she can't control herself with Brittany in bed.

"Brittany… I don't know what happened… I just…I couldn't stop," Guilt eats away at her and she starts to ramble. "I don't want to keep secrets from you anymore. About anything. The truth is, the sleepover at Quinn's, that fire in the biology lab during sex ed class… the fire in the classroom. That was all me. I don't know what Finn told you about what happened with the kryptonite. My hormones are just… I can't help it when I'm around you. I can't control it."

"Don't be sorry. I know you couldn't help it any of those times, Santana," Brittany kisses her lips softly and looks pleased rather than upset. "You can't control yourself around me? I think that's the most romantic thing I've ever heard."

"You know… about my powers? You're not upset"

"Of course I'm not, Silly."

Santana is stunned, her heart beating fast as she clutches her hand to her chest, the world spinning around her. Brittany knows her other deepest secret in the universe and she isn't backing away in horror or rejecting her. In fact Brittany looks really happy. The happiest Santana has ever seen her.

"But you… you never said anything. When did you find out?"

"Since we were like six and I saw you shoot fire out of your nose when you sneezed like a baby dragon then you got scared that everyone in class saw it but only I did. It was really cute. I thought you wanted to keep it a secret and it's okay if you did. It was your right to keep your secret."

"So you still… love me?" Santana is astounded. It's too good to be true. "I'm just a menace… I destroy everything I touch."

"I love you. Everything about you. I love fire," Brittany beams, gesturing towards the candles around her room. "I always have. Fire isn't just about destruction, it's exciting and full of life like the sun, just like you. Speaking of which, could you light those for me?"

Santana grins and does what she says, carefully lighting each of the candles on the surfaces of Brittany's room. It does make everything seem even more romantic and before long, Brittany crawls into her lap, pulling her into a deep kiss. The night turns out rather well despite the whole disaster and them sleeping on an inflatable mattress.

"Britt, are you sure?" Santana asks nervously when Brittany starts kissing her neck and she presses her thighs together, realizing where this is heading again. "What happens if I lose control again?"

"Then you lose control again and it'll be really sexy. It's super sexy that you create fire. Don't think so much. Just have your way with me."

Santana can't really argue with that, especially when Brittany's boobs are in her face. Sex with Brittany is even better now that all of her secrets are out in the open and luckily, she doesn't start anymore fires. She's surprised when she's in the middle of making love to the girl and Brittany grabs her free hand, placing it on her creamy thigh and looks up at her pleadingly, biting her lip. It's the type of look from Brittany that Santana will never be able to resist.

"Can you… you know?"

Brittany looks at her in the eyes, conveying a certain message and she doesn't need to say anything more

"Britt! You're serious…? I don't want to burn you."

"You won't."

Their lips crash together as Brittany straddles her thighs and she lets Santana do that to her. Santana can't help but smirk the next day as Brittany stands in front of her full length mirror, cheeks flushed and examining each mark that she begged Santana for.

She smirks even more when Finn and Rachel notice the little marks all over Brittany's thighs and ass as the tall blonde skips around in a tiny red bikini during the next pool party at Mike Chang's place while Santana hovers closely nearby. The tall boy and short brunette both look pretty appalled when they figure it out but once he recovers, Finn congratulates her with a huge grin on his face.

"You did it. You finally told her."

Santana shrugs, but can't quite find a venomous response to scare him off. This whole being Brittany's girlfriend thing makes her too damned happy sometimes that she's distracted. Finn's probably just happy that there haven't been any random fires in a while.

"Yeah. I love her and she's perfect." Santana admits, giggling when she lies back on the deck chair and Brittany comes right over to sit right on her lap, draping herself all over her and pulling her into a kiss. Santana smiles against her mouth and she surprisingly finds that she doesn't care who's looking at them. Maybe being a freak with fire powers isn't so bad if she has a girlfriend she adores by her side.
