This is a series of loosely connected scenes set in an AU in which Ardyn joins Noctis and Co on their way to Altissia in order to screw with Bahamut's plan and take on the astral together. Centered around a "chaotic good and/or neutral" kind of Ardyn, but mostly told from Noctis' POV. See the author's note in chapter 1 for more details. Updates whenever.

It all started one late night for Prompto, a night that would change his life forever. He didn't expect to hear a knock on his door, and he most definitely didn't expect to see a baby left by the door.

Noctis should not have ditched his guard to explore on his own. Prompto had been hunting the wolves for a while when he finally caught up to them they were fighting to collar someone. To his shock that someone was Noctis Lucis Caelum, Vampire Prince of Insomnia. He couldn't leave him to die and he couldn't keep him in in Meldacio. He had to get him back to the city. Easy, right?

"She gave her life so you could do your duty, not so you could sit around feeling sorry for yourself." Gladio said in a rougher tone than he wanted. "You don't think I know that?" Noctis said, holding back whatever frustrated tears wanted to fall. He was supposed to be strong and willing as their king, but even so… he was human. AU Where Noctis wasn't chosen by the crystal. Exiled from his home country, Noctis found a place in the Fleuret's army, the only thing standing between Nifelheim and Lucis. In a world of war and betrayals, Noctis must gather allies to lay waste to the empire and also prevent his kingdom from collapsing from the inside. Luna has plans for him, if he's willing to lend her his powers.
