CHAPTER 4: MONICA MAKES PLANS

At Mary and Monica's place, an attorney was at their house. Monica had made a plan to write her last will and testament before it was too late. The chemotherapy to battle the cancer had wreaked havoc on her system and she was feeling worse than she did with the cancer itself. She wanted Mary to be set with her life, even if she wasn't in it.

"So, have you thought about what you wanted to say in your will, Ms. Woodburne?" asked the attorney.

"I have," said Monica. "Mary, do you have the laptop?"

"Right here, Mon," said Mary, handing her the laptop. Monica went to a file on there.

"I can print this out and then you can notarize it, Mr. Larson," said Monica to the attorney. Mr. Larson looked at what Monica had typed for her will and testament.

"Okay, print this out and I can make it legally binding," Mr. Larson replied. Monica printed it out on their printer. She then signed the bottom and handed it to Mr. Larson, who then notarized it and placed it in a manila envelope. "I will take this to my office. You have the main copy, I have the signed copy, so if there's a dispute, we have the proper documents here."

"Thank you, sir," said Mary. And Mr. Larson left the apartment. Mary went over and hugged Monica.

"Oh, baby!" she said, softly weeping, as she caressed her girlfriend.

"It'll be okay, Mare," said Monica, assuring her. "We'll be okay." Monica kissed Mary softly and held her close. Monica didn't know how much time, if any, she had left, so she wanted to make the most of what she had left.

At the Brown household, Charlie and Pat, who was holding Little Richie, was talking with Lucy and Linus about Peggy Jean's sudden appearance. Lucy told them about her running into Peggy and telling her to back off and leave them alone.

"I swear it was a coincidence," assured Lucy. "I had no idea she would be there."

"Uh huh," said Charlie, not knowing if to believe the former fussbudget or not. He decided not to question her and just let it be, provided Peggy abided by the warning. "Well, as long as she leaves us alone, I'm fine with just letting her go."

"Me, too," added Pat. "It's not like Violet when she tried to kill everyone in here. Peggy just realized she made a mistake, but it was way too late."

"Hopefully she gets her life in order," said Linus. "I kind of feel sorry for her."

"Yeah, here's hoping she finds someone who will make her happy," said Charlie. There was a knock at the door. Charlie went to answer it, to find Cormac at the door.

"Hey, corporal," he said to his subordinate. "To what do I owe this visit?"

"Here to pick up Sally for our date, sir," said Cormac. Lucy and Linus raised their eyebrows.

"She and Cormac dating?" asked Linus.

"Well, you made it clear you weren't interested," said Sally, coming in dressed in a hot pink mini dress with matching heels and her hair done up. "Plus you have Mary Jo now, so why not date Cormac, who liked me since we were kids?"

"You'll get no argument from me, Sally," said Linus, raising his hands. "If Cormac makes you happy, I'm happy."

"Okay, have fun, you two," said Charlie.

"Thanks, Char," said Sally. And she and Cormac left for their date.
