Kruger: A Star Wars Story

Prologue

Sirius is a system deep in the outer rim home to the Sirians canine like humanoids who live peacefully on their flourishing planet. The Sirians are a peaceful and well-mannered race, incredibly intelligent and tough as nails warriors. Every Sirian when they become of age 20 is required by law to serve in the Sirian Royal Army for a minimum of 3 years, In this time they will learn valuable skills both Physical and Mental that will help protect and ensure their home world continues to flourish for generations to come. Despite being located in the Outer Rim, which is often a breeding ground for bounty hunters, smugglers, and crime families such as the Hutts, the planet has enjoyed centuries of peace. In the Capital of Newtech City sits the Sirian Royal Family. Their King Lucian Kruger, beloved and respected by many, has overseen the growth of his home world in the last several decades. A wise and compassionate with firm but fair attitude he is responsible much of this growth in the last several years, alongside his him is his wife and Queen Sonja she is not Sirian but Human from the planet Alderaan. Sonja was an experienced diplomat under Alderaan's ruler and well-respected senator Bail Organa. After the two met during a diplomatic meeting between the worlds the two fell in love and eventually they would welcome the birth of their son Anubis, the Prince and future King of Sirius. Anubis was the combination of both his parents' best traits, like his father he was a highly skilled warrior surpassing every Sirian before him and much like his mother was highly intelligent and was showing great diplomatic skills that would normally take the most experienced diplomats years to acquire. By the time he was 18 a teenage Anubis was already showing great promise as the future King his parents believed he was destined to rule Sirius to new heights that had only been dreamed about, but his chance would never come. Due to rising tensions in the galaxy many planets have split from the Republic and would form The Confederacy of Independent Systems. With the tensions at an all-time high many feared war was coming and thus systems would be forced to choose sides in the growing conflict. Lucian, knowing war would only destabilize the galaxy and undo the long-lasting peace of his home world, opted to remain neutral in the conflict. The First Battle of Geonosis would take place and soon after, just as everyone feared war had begun. In the early days of the war the galaxy was plunged into chaos, law and order became a distant memory and soon many systems would be caught in the crossfire, and nobody predicted what would happen next. The Sirian Royal family would wake one morning to a terrible sight, an armada for ships for the separatist were closing in on Sirius it was an invasion. A great battle would ensue. The Sirians fought hard to push back the invaders, but the massive droid army led by their ruthless leader General Grievous just kept coming wave after wave. The Droid army was advancing on the Capital and desperate to save his people and his family Lucian would order a system wide evacuation. Several ships began evacuating Sirian citizens while the Royal Army desperately held back the advancing droid army. With the droid army closing in on the royal palace Lucian would tell his wife to take their son and leave while he and what remained of their army made their final stand.

The droids would breach the palace and a fierce final stand took place but the General himself decided he would be the one to finish off the king. With the battle raging all around the Grievous roamed the halls of the palace unopposed before reaching the throne room where Lucian with his Shadow Saber in hand was waiting for him. The General unfazed whipped out 2 Lightsabers taken from the Jedi's he has killed and engaged the Lucian in a fierce dual. Meanwhile Sonja and Anubis were making their way to the family's personal ship the WaveRider but as they were preparing to leave a squad of battle droids had found them. Lucian and Grievous dueled intensely as neither side gained an advantage, both were evenly match. Lucian, sensing his family in danger, would manage to temporally neutralize Grievous and race to save his family. The battle droids would open fire and Sonja in a split-second reaction would push Anubis behind the protective ray shield covering the ship's entrance but, in the process, left herself open to blaster fire with several blaster shots striking her back. Anubis watched in horror as his mother dropped motionless to the ground before the droids could advance on Anubis Lucian appeared and quickly cut down the remaining droids. Seeing Sonja motionless on the ground and in a final effort to save his bloodline he initiated the emergency takeoff sequence he handed his shadow saber to Anubis and sealed him inside the ship. The WaveRider took off Lucian watched the ship leave as he did, another squad of battle droids arrived with a recovered Grievous leading. Outmatched and outgunned Lucian picks up a blaster from a destroyed battle droid and the two sides stare down at each other for a moment. Lucian manages to let off a few shots before being overwhelmed by blaster fire. Critically wounded he drops to his knees as Grievous slowly approaches and looks down at his prey. Lucian looks up at the general defiantly and without hesitation Grievous ignites his lightsaber and impales him right through the chest killing him. Anubis witnesses the entire thing as the WaveRider leaves the planet and makes the jump to hyperspace. The WaveRider's A.I Gideon pilots the ship to one place Anubis will be safe, Alderaan. When the ship reaches Alderaan a traumatized Anubis is welcomed by Senator Organa but devastated to hear Sirius has fallen. The next several days pass in a blur as news of Sirius destruction spreads across the galaxy and the news only gets worse. The evacuation ships never made it to hyperspace as the destroyed remains litter the orbit around the system, no survivors were found. Anubis has lost his family, his people, his home, everything. Anubis was all alone. The entire event replays in his head repeatedly and only one thing goes through his mind, Revenge. After a few weeks Anubis sets off on the WaveRider to find General that took everything from him little did he know his quest for vengeance would take him down a path he never expected.

Chapter 1: Rising Malevolence

It's been six months since Anubis set off from Alderaan in search of the Separatist General Grievous, but the general's trail has gone cold. Every lead has turned up nothing, however rumors swirl in the galaxy of a new separatist super weapon that has been ambushing republic warships leaving no survivors. Operating on a hunch that it must be Grievous as this is the exact type of ruthlessness he's known for. Anubis sets off for the weapons last known location to start his search the Abregado system. Upon arrival Anubis is greeted to a grim sight 3 republic warships reduced to chunks of floating debris not a single survivor in sight.

"Nothing left just like report say it must be him. Gideon modulate the scanner for any ships in the area. This debris field is recent which means the general can't be far behind." Anubis ordered his A.I

"Yes Sir"

Anubis carefully navigates the WaveRider through the debris field.

"Sir I've detected a faint distress signal coming from within the debris field. "

"Probably a survivor, how anyone survive this is beyond me. Lock on to the signal we're going after it."

Anubis flies the WaveRider to the signal and comes upon an escape pod with 3 clones and a Jedi Master clinging on to it.

"Look out there it's an escape pod and survivors. Gideon prep tow cable, bring the pod into the loading bay and have the medical droid meet me there."

The WaveRider successfully tows the pod into the hanger Anubis with the medical droid begin checking on the survivors

"Will they be alright?" Anubis asked the medical droid.

"The pressure suits offer some protection, but they will need a medical frigate for recovery I will stabilize them now sir" The droid replied.

Anubis approaches the Jedi Master crouching down.

"Your Men are safe Now"

"Tell me, were there any survivors?" The Jedi asked

"No, you and your men were the only ones I found" He replied

"The Hunters must have destroyed the rest. You have our gratitude, had you not arrived when you did, I fear we may have well been among the casualties."

After recovering the Plo Koon explained his he and his men were attacked with ion cannon a weapon that can disable ships leaving them defenseless.

"I must report my findings to the Jedi Council at once before more ships fall victim to that weapon" The Jedi Urged.

"I will gladly take you to wherever you need"

"If I may ask you're a Sirian aren't you?" The Jedi questioned

"I am" He responded "Anubis Kruger of Sirius"

"The prince, I wasn't aware any were any left after the invasion of Sirius"

"There weren't, I was the only one who made it out alive no one else survived." Anubis explained as he closes his eyes still haunted with the terrible memory. "The one responsible is still out there, the one called Grievous."

"That is why you were out here?"

"I heard the rumors of a new super weapon and the reports of republic ships being destroyed in ambush attacks with no survivors reported. I knew in my heart it was him, it's the type of ruthlessness he's known for. He will pay for taking everything from me."

"If vengeance is what you seek you may only find more pain." Master Plo states as Jedi do not believe in revenge as it is a path to the dark side.

"I'm not sure how much more pain I could feel than what I'm already feeling-"

"Sir I'm detecting a massive vessel approaching" Gideon Interrupts.

Anubis looks over at the scanner and sure enough a large mass has appeared and is heading their direction.

"Shut down the power systems before they detect us." Plo Koon says as he and Anubis begin rapidly shutting down all the WaveRider's power.

The Separatist massive super weapon The Malevolence comes into view. Anubis and Plo Koon watch anxiously as the ship passes by, but just as they think they're in the clear the ship begins to turn around.

"They're coming back."

"Are all the systems shut down?"

Just as Plo Koon speaks the medical droid walks on to the bridge inquiring about the loss of power. Both Anubis and Plo Koon stare in horror realizing they forgot the medical droid.

"We've got to get the power back on now." Plo Koon says as they race to restore power to the WaveRider. The Malevolence moves into attack position and it's Ion cannon prepares to fire. The WaveRider finally comes back online and Anubis jumps into the pilot seat and races away from it desperately trying to get clear of the ship.

Gideon comes back online. "Sir what has...

"No time to explain I need you program the hyperdrive now"

"To which destination sir?"

"Anywhere but here hurry!"

The Malevolence fires and the WaveRider desperately maneuvers through the debris field, but the Ion cannons' rays are rapidly gaining finally the ship gets clear of the debris

"Coordinates locked, Hyperdrive ready sir"

"Engage"

The WaveRider enters hyperspace successfully escaping the Malevolence. Sometime later the WaveRider rendezvous with General Skywalker's Republic Cruiser the Resolute. After Docking Anubis and Plo Koon are greeted by Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka runs toward Master Plo greeting him with a hug.

"Master Plo you're alive"

"I have our new friend to thank for that" gesturing to Anubis.

"Thank you for saving them"

"We were about to launch a rescue mission when we lost contact thankfully you came when you did."

"I was in the right place at the right time."

"Skywalker it's time give our report to the council"

"You should join us Anubis" Master Plo said to Anubis

"Me?"

"Yes, if you wish to find Grievous this is your opportunity for Justice. Help us stop Grievous before more suffer the same fate as your home world.

Anubis thought about it for a moment for the last several months he been chasing every down lead to Grievous only to come up with nothing. Now he's closer than ever and if the republic is willing to aid in his quest, then he was not going to let his best shot pass him by the decision was an easy one.

"Aright, I'm in."

The Four head up to bridge to brief the council on The Malevolence and its destructive weaponry. With this new threat still out there, The Republic will need to come up with a plan quickly before it strikes again.

And that completes the first chapter of this story. This story will follow the entirety of the Clone Wars series. You'll recognize the some of names & settings and can probably guess where the inspiration came from. While names were borrowed from other series this is not a crossover and will follow the clone wars storyline with a few modifications to include our main character. I will do my best not to go too far away from the original source material as i want to the events that occur to make sense for the characters involved and not have our main character there just to be there. Keep in mind this the first fan fic story ever that i published so if you happen to notice certain spelling errors or improper grammar then i apologize and promise to do better. I always open to suggestions on where to take the story and make it better as i want this story to be able to be unique in its own way while remaining faithful to the source material. With that being said i hope you enjoy the ride because we're just getting started.
