Bree sighed, setting down her mission bag as she came in the lab. She was exhausted. That had been one of the most grueling missions that didn't involve villians being personally against them.
Douglas walked over to Bree, giving her a hug. "Are you okay baby? You look tired."
Bree nodded. "I'm just exhausted. Why can't we get a break lately?" She snuggled into Douglas' shoulder.
"I know. I'm sorry. hundreds of superheroes and bionic kids and yet we always get sucked back into the fray." Douglas pulled the ponytail out of Bree's hair, untangling the braid with his fingers.
Bree chuckled, still leaning into Douglas. "I guess the ogs are the best, right?"
Douglas laughed. "Only because I made them." He pulled Bree into a kiss.
Bree kissed Douglas back, before she moved around and climbed onto Douglas' back.
Douglas grinned. "Come on, let me take care of you." He walked into the hyperlift with Bree still on his back.
Bree made a a pleased humming noise, starting to play with Douglas' hair.
Once upstairs, Douglas set Bree down on the bathroom counter.
Bree pouted a little bit, but sat mostly still, kicking her legs a bit while Douglas started the bath water.
"Okay, first I'm going to rinse the first off of you, then I'm going to start a bubble bath." Douglas smiled at Bree, carefully peeling off her mission suit and finally checking her for injuries. "Let daddy take care of you."
Bree nodded, grinning at Douglas. "Ok." She shuddered a bit from Douglas' careful touch.
Douglas gently places Bree in the tub, using the detachable shower head to rinse her hair and body. "Is this warm enough for you baby?"
Bree nodded. "It's perfect." She let Douglas soap up her body, relaxing into his touch.
"Good girl." Douglas praised, rinsing the soap off of Bree's body before moving on to shampooing her hair. "Your hair has been getting longer lately, it might be time for a haircut. Unless you don't want one."
"I'm not sure." Bree answered honestly. She let out a small moan from Douglas massaging her scalp.
Douglas nodded, grabbing the shower head again to rinse Bree's hair. "That's okay." He grabbed the conditioner after rinsing Bree's hair.
"Don't get me wrong, I like going on missions I'm just tired of being overworked." Bree admitted, fully relaxing into Douglas' touch.
"I know, baby. I know." Douglas finished washing Bree's hair, rinsing the conditioner out before grabbing the bubble bath. "I can't fix all of it but I can fix some of it."
"I know. You do what you can." Bree laid back against the tub's shelf-style ledge. It was almost a perfect pillow.
"Do you want the shower pillow baby?" Douglas asked, checking the temperature of the water again and adding the bubble bath.
"That sounds good." Bree agreed, glad that the bathtub was long enough to stretch her legs out. That was one of the better perks of having a rich fake father.
"Anything for you." Douglas gently sat Bree up before placing the pillow with waterproof fabric behind her head. "Now you need to relax."
"I'm already relaxed. You take good care of me." Bree replied, leaning her head back again and closing her eyes.
Douglas smiled again. "I'm lucky to have you." He was content to sit next to the bathtub telling Bree how much he loved her and how good of a girl she was.
