Prologue
"Hm? I actually found someone. the void is beginning to feel an infinite stretch of nothingness"
The one-way conversation began to drift back to me.
"How interesting, you are a bare SOUL. I don't think you're a Frisk, nor Chara… WAIT! human! You must be one of fallen humans! Oh dearest, how long have you been here? Doesn't matter since the RESET have, most likely, prolonged your suffering indefinitely, poor soul"
I could only see his feet through the colorful creations of my imagination.
"Here, let me give you a hand"
Chapter One
"That was a good dream…" I murmured to myself half-awake "wait a second, I don't sleep!" yelling those words out while sitting up abruptly, now wide awake, I looked around.
I was in what, jogging by the giant overdecorated chair in the middle, I assumed was a throne room, but it was kind of hard to tell because of the dim lighting. Speaking of, was it coming from… me? Does it really matter? I'm free!
"Ha, ha" I started up "HA HAHA HAHAHAH HHHAAAAA…" the sound of my crackling laughter continued for a few more minutes. "I AM FREEEEE!" my delightful explosion of an outburst finished.
"Damn, I knew you'd completely lose it one day, but so close to the finish line" The brightly colored fraction of imagination spoke with a sorrowful look on his face "what a shame" the three eyed cat with same color pallet in both fur, and white of the eye and iris, as its text and jet-black pupil, though interestingly enough the white of the eye and iris not the same color ether of the eyes.
"Hey Ice-cream, I was beginning to wonder then you guys would begin to show up" I said with a mad smile replacing the laughter.
"So, you haven't lost it completely, huh? good to see I've done my job" Ice-cream said, equipped with a smug smile.
"Good indeed" I confirmed, now calmer but still with a smile dancing on my lips.
"By the way, how does it feel to glow?" the energetic cat asked while tilting his head in curiosity.
"Glow?" I asked "Glow" he confirmed. And true enough, then I looked down, I was not only glowing, but transparent too. "Wow, so cool" It was like looking through a light mist with green glow to it, but weirder since it was my hand.
"So, I'm, like, a ghost?" "Seems so"
I continued to stare down at my hand, while shifting my focus between my hand and the floor beneath it. "Freaky" "freaky indeed" Ice-cream agreed with a nod. Well, not much I can do about it now "Let's leave" I said, "This place gives me the chills" I continued, but quieter. There was an abnormally large door facing the throne, clearly the main entrance and exit. "Who needs doors that big?" "Who knows" came the reply. "How do we leave?"
"Through the door"
"Well, obviously, but those doors seem pretty heavy"
"Maybe they're lighter than they look, try to push them"
Unsure of what else to do, I tried to push them open, it didn't go well. I laid my hands on the smooth stone slap and pushed while grunting "Open, you stupid door", meanwhile Ice-cream cheered me on from the sideline, nevertheless, nothing happened. "I… WANT… THROUTH!" and suddenly, all resistance on my palms disappeared, letting me fall forwards and although the landing didn't hurt, I still let out a cry.
"What the hell was that?! Did I open it?" "Check it yourself" came Ice-cream's immediate reply. That was then I rolled over to see the door firmly closed and cutting through my legs just under the knee.
"AAAAHH!" "Calm down, can you feel your legs?" came Ice-crems voice, penetrating my panic. Now that he mentioned it, my legs felt just fine, like they were not cut off by a thick stone slap, as if I could draw them to me and be perfectly fine, so I did. Seeing my two legs emerging from the door must've the b most fascinating thing ever. "you're a ghost, already forgot?" Ice-cream said with a snicker "Oh, yeah" I got up from my temporary spot of hysteria, more than slightly embarrassed, and looked around.
Stretching long before me was a long, wide corridor with giant pillars and windows towering up towards the shadow befallen ceiling in a rhythmic pattern, although it was hard to see the other end because of the pressing darkness. "Who needs such a long corridor?" Ice-cream asked while laying his ears flat against his head "I don't know" I whispered while picking him up and just before spotting a golden Square, seemingly edged into the wall across the hall as the light emitted both never shift in the slightest and was Impossibly bright, like the entrance to heaven or hell. "Why are you just standing there?" asked Ice-cream with a frown "Oh, yeah" I responded intelligently before hurrying up to the other side of the room.
Once there, I could finally see what was shining so bright through the that had given it its shape: a four-pronged star, outshining the fire of the torch at its own game. "Wow, shiny" I gasped while retching out. Was it hot? I caught myself thinking. For the better or the worse I never got to find out, as my hand went right through it while making it distort. Well at least it distorted so I know, I didn't just go through it because of this ghost ordeal.
"Cheer up, Ow, there is probably lots of other interesting things if we look for them" Ice-cream said, still tucked into my chest.
And so, they began venturing out.
-10 minutes later-
"We're going in circles" "No, we're not" the sound of our bickering echoed through the hallway "See? This is new!" we came to a large room with three entrances: the one we had exited from, another on the other side of the room, and a small one to the right of us.
In the middle of the room there were a long bench in the form of a circle; and on the far side of it were a hunk of armor seemingly resting with a spear by it's side.
I tensed up and crouched, before I was scared half to death by Ice-cream's voice in my ear "I don't think he's able to hear you, or even see you."
"I know! Just want to be safe" I hissed back. He rolled his eyes "Whatev-" but he was interrupted before he could finish "Hey! You! What are you doing here?"
