8-year-old Anastasia was sitting inside of the carriage beside her sister 11-year-old Drizella while their mother Lady Tremaine sat across from them. While Drizella sat up straight with perfect posture, the youngest Tremaine girl was slouched down while her legs were spread out on the floor, her arms were crossed and she was pouting. Her mother finally noticed and sighed, an impatient look on her face.

"Anastasia! Sit up like a lady. We want to make a good impression on the sultan." Lady Tremaine scolded.

"I don't see why it's so important that we are traveling so far from The Enchanted Forest to be stuck in the middle of nowhere in a desert where's it's very hot and nothing for me and Drizzy to do. You had practically dragged us."

"Because Ana, we are going to the city of Agrabah to meet the sultan and hopefully be chosen to be the betrothed of his son, Prince Mizra." Drizella said, turning to her younger sister, smiling hugely, a look of excitement on her face.

"I do not wish to marry some bratty prince Drizzy. I only want to have fun instead of being forced to play with other stuck-up royals all the time just so I can fall in love with one of them. It's silly." Anastasia said, continuing to pout.

Lady Tremaine scoffed while Drizella rolled her eyes then Lady Tremaine had adjusted Anastasia onto the seat properly and straightened her legs while Anastasia glared at her then she had lifted up her daughter's chin so she could meet her firm gaze.

"You must be wedded to a prince if you want so many things that are important in life, dear girl. Jewels and treasures, a castle, power. If you have it all, our family will finally be noticed and respected and people will be intimidated and feel less fortunate. You may not your prince and that prince may not love you but the people will. Do you understand, Anastasia?"

"You mean the people will adore you. That's all you care about, Mother." Anastasia said quietly.

Lady Tremaine's eyes suddenly became cold and before Anastasia knew it, her mother had slapped her across her cheek, making her yelp in pain and hold her cheek while Drizella giggled, smirking. Anastasia looked back up at Lady Tremaine, her cheek reddened while she rubbed it, tears filling her eyes.

"I'm...I'm sorry, Mother. I will listen and be good."

"Very well then. Now, dry your eyes and regain your composure. The sultan and his son shall adore you both."

Anastasia and Drizella nodded. Drizella had begun to fan herself while Anastasia looked out the window. She stared out at the city of Agrabah and started to slowly smile. She may not have been looking forward to going to the palace and having to meet Prince Mizra but she did love all that Agrabah had to offer. There were merchants with their stands selling tempting food and beautiful jewelry as far as the eye could see and she saw some animals like camels, goats and horses passing by and children her age playing in the streets. She wished she could have joined them. It would've been much more fun instead of what she was really going to endure.

Afte admiring other things in Agrabah, Anastasia began to fall asleep but then the carriage had then come to a stop, startling her awake. She looked out at the window again and in her line of vision was a very large palace that she to crane her neck a little to see all of it. The palace did look beautiful but it also proved to Anastasia that she was right. The sultan and his son had to be tyrants to live in a place like this. She'd seen enough castles to know.

The carriage door open and two of the palace guards had helped Lady Tremaine then her daughters out of the carriage. As Anastasia was being led into the palace, holding onto her mother's hand, she stared at all of the many rooms and statues while her mother pulled her along, forcing her to keep focus.

The doors to the throne room swung open and Anastasia looked ahead and could see the sultan on his throne with a boy at her age beside him. Despite only being a child like her, something about the prince's demeanor made Anastasia glare at him. She had a feeling he was mischievous, rude and very abusive. She met many princes her age like that and now she possibly had to deal with another.

Her mother had roughly tugged on her hand and Anastasia hurriedly followed in step with her and Drizella and then the three of them had gone over to the throne and then Lady Tremaine had curtsied followed by Drizella.

"Your Highness. I am Lady Tremaine. I believe I had received your message about talks of a bride for your darling son."

The sultan nodded and then had stood from the throne and approached Lady Tremaine and her daughters while Mizra stayed close to his father's side, also studying them then Drizella had winked at Mizra and then curtsied while giggling making him smile and wave back.

"It seems that one of your daughters already knows how to properly greet the next ruler of Agrabah." The sultan finally said, nodding in approval.

"She is very polite, Father." Mizra added, also nodding.

Then the sultan had turned to Anastasia and the girl looked up at the man towering over her and backed away slightly, eyeing him warily. The sultan had glanced back at her, the same look on his face then turned to Lady Tremaine and pointed to Anastasia.

"Your youngest however could work on her manners. She did not properly address us when you first entered." The sultan said, now scowling.

"I agree on that matter wholeheartedly, Your Highness. I will teach her a lesson once we have settled in."

"Oh, no...Allow Mizra to do the honors."

Mizra had walked up to Anastasia and stared at her, smiling for a moment then had slapped her where her mother had struck her, stinging her sore cheek more while the sultan, Drizella and Lady Tremaine watched in amusement.

"A fine punishment indeed, young prince." Lady Tremaine praised.

"Shame though. She does have a beautiful face; I am sorry that I had made it ugly." Mizra said, stroking Anastasia's cheek.

"Why waste your time on such matters then, Mizra?" Drizella said, turning to Anastasia, a look of disgust on her face.

"Indeed. Come. We have a bountiful feast prepared for you tonight."

The sultan had offered his arm to Lady Tremaine and then she had accepted it while Drizella had done the same with Mizra and they had begun to leave the throne room while Anastaisa stood there, holding her cheek then had run to catch up to them but as she was doing so, she turned her head and then noticed a boy of about 10 wearing the clothes of a palace servant, looking at her. Their eyes met. She wondered if he had seen what had happened while they stared at each other but before Anastasia could move towards the boy, she heard her mother yell out for her then she looked back over and saw that the boy had disappeared then she had gone to find her mother and sister, now thinking if who she saw was only her imagination.

The boy had actually hidden behind a corner and saw Anastasia leaving. He felt so horrible about what Mizra had done to her and he was about to interfere but yet Jafar knew what the consequences would be if he had done so. But he also knew that he wanted to befriend the girl. But how was he ever going to be able to meet her?
