A/N: This fic exists thanks to my lovely friend Joey who showed me a fan art of BNHA characters in Mulan which made me go 'hey, wait a minute, this could actually be really cool'. I don't know who the artist is, but thank you to them too. And thank you to whoever decided to click on this fic. I hope that you'll enjoy it.

Usually the greatest danger of guarding the wall was boredom. As Higawara made his way back and forth between the two watchtowers he tried not to think about the fact that he still had five mind-numbing hours of his shift left.

His fatigue and boredom evaporated the moment he saw the grappling hooks come flying over the wall. He dashed to the watch tower, dodging passed the incoming invaders. All along the wall he heard sounds of fighting. He used his quirk to hurl one of his attackers over the battlements in a tornado of sand and ran for the ladder leading to the beacon at the top of the tower.

He had just reached the top when he saw the shadowy figure crouched on the parapet like some ominous bird of prey.

"Shigaraki Tomura," he breathed the name that sent terror into the heart of every soldier in the Imperial army. Before the Hun could attack, he threw the torch he held into the waiting oil of the beacon. All along the wall, other beacons were lit.

"Now all of China knows that you're here."

Shigaraki didn't seem perturbed by that. Behind the pale hand that hid his face he seemed to be smiling. He grasped a nearby Imperial flag. It slowly disintegrated, crumbling to dust beneath his fingers.

"Good."
