"You're a girl." Bakugou had never been one to mince words and he said it with characteristic bluntness.

"What?" Momo's voice accidentally slipped up an octave from the tone she usually used around the other recruits. She, Sero, Kirishima and Bakugou were sitting around under a tree as they sometimes did after training and the sudden declaration took her completely by surprise.

"We won't tell the captain," Kirishima promised.

"Can you imagine the look on his face though if he found out he got beaten by a girl in last week's strategy practice?" Sero said.

Kirishima elbowed him in the ribs.

"But of course," he wheezed, rubbing his bruised side, "we'll never know. Because he'll never know. Because we won't tell him."

She briefly considered trying to deny it, but Bakugou's scowl said, 'don't lie to me'.

(She was gradually coming to understand his different glares better. There was a 'determined' glare, a 'I hate you' glare and a 'I don't hate you, but I'm going to pretend to.')

"It might not matter whether you tell him or not though," Momo said regretfully, "Iida is already suspicious and he'll be sure to inform the captain."

Bakugou grinned and cracked his knuckles.

"Leave that to us."

"Look we get it," Kirishima said, throwing a friendly arm around the scribe's shoulders, "you're just trying to do your job."

"But see, we also have a job to do," Sero said, "we have to look after our friend."

"So if you stand in our way," Bakugou said, letting mini explosions pop off in his hand, "we'll arrange a little family reunion with your ancestors."

Iida's eyes widened. Not so much at the threat, but at the recruits' audacity.

"You can't threaten a government official! It's a punishable offense!"

"Only if you get caught," Sero said with a shrug.

"And we can't get caught if they never find your corpse," Bakugou added.

Iida looked from Bakugou to the letter from his brother who had worked as an administrator before he retired. 'Midoriya' had looked far too familiar and the name Yaoyorozu had also rung a bell so he had written to his brother requesting information on the family. His brother confirmed that Midoriya had died in an accident years ago and that All Might's only surviving child was a daughter named Momo. He had meant to take this information directly to the captain, but…

The punishment for women joining the army was harsh. Harsher in his opinion than the crime deserved. But he didn't write the law; his job was to keep it. However, would it really be just to uphold an unjust law? Iida had always believed that the rules should be followed, but maybe… just this once.

"Fine," he agreed.

"Wonderful," Kirishima said, leading Bakugou away who was still glaring fiercely at Iida, "see? I told you didn't need to bring the shovel."

A/N: I know this is really short, but I like the idea of Bakugou and the others finding out that Momo is a girl and just immediately accepting it.
