I rolled over to my alarm blaring in my ear's. I turned it off and slowly opened my eye's it was 7 o'clock. I sat up and stretched. Covering my mouth as I yawned. Last night was the first night in two days you actually slept. It felt great to be fully rested. You stumble to the shower and turn it on. Once the water's warmed you jump in enjoying the heat. This house was freezing. No matter how many times I turned up the heat it just didn't seem to matter. It made you feel small every room was pretty big and everything was so high up on the shelves. Good thing the counters were sturdy because you've climbed them a lot. After finishing, you brush your hair and stick a clip on the left side keeping your hair at bay. You walk upstairs and open the fridge you'd done a little shopping and decided to heat some left over rice. You place it in a pan on the stove and put water in the kettle placing it on another burner. While you wait for them to heat up you couldn't help but remember the situation last night. The very loud shouting idiot on your roof scream for Kakashi sensei to duel him. It had taken you by surprise and you almost attacked the man. It didn't matter what you did living in the city was too much. All the noise and people. They all had a mind of their own and you couldn't read people worth a crap. You never knew if they were lying or scheming plotting to kill others or you they were a mystery, it filled you up with anxiety. The last few days had put a huge strain on you. You just couldn't do people. All you had to do was survive this training with Kakashi sensei and than you were free to go on your own missions again and that's all you wanted. To be alone where it was quite and all you needed to worry about was the task at hand. After pouring the tea in a cup you eat in silence glancing at your watch again. It was 7:40 a.m. you place the dishes in the sink and run down stairs to get dressed. Just as you were about to head for the balcony you heard a light tapping on the heart starts racing and weren't sure if you should check to see who it was. But after a minute there was more tapping on the door. You slowly approach it and look through the peep hole it was Kakashi sensei. You release your breath not realizing you had been holding it. You open the door and see him standing there with his hand behind his head. "Kakashi sensei? What are you doing here so early?"
He looked a bit flushed and out of breath. I invited him in and shut the door.
"Thank you Uchiha." He huffed and sat down. I rolled my eye's might as well let him use my name since I've finally remembered his.
"Just call me y/n. If I have to call you Kakashi sensei than you might as well call me y/n." He smiled at me than sat down.
"So I umm... Went to the Hokage this morning asking for advice on how to uh... well... train you better. I thought maybe we could take a week to travel and train were its more quite and less distracting." He stopped letting what he said sink in. When you didn't respond he continued.
"He well agreed to it. But... instead of a week he wants us to take a month..."
He trailed off waiting for me to react. Only I didn't know how to react... leave. And for a month...what if something happens in the village. Where are we going to go? Are we going far? Questions swirled inside my brain before he poked me on the cheek. I turned to him surprised. He just smiled at me.
"You zoned out there a bit y/n. Is everything alright do you have questions?"
I nodded and he waited for me to speak. " Where would we be going? Are we sleeping outside the whole time? Why does the Hokage want us to leave for a month? He's not planning anything right?" Before I could say anything else Kakashi sensei held his hands up stopping the barrage of questions. He ran his hand threw his hair and sat back in the chair looking up at the ceiling.
"First. We would be going to an estate my family owns up in the mountains by the edge of hidden leaf territory. No there's a house there and everything although it's quite a long walk. But it's pretty I think you'll like it. I'm not sure why the Hokage wants us to leave for a month but he thinks it'll really help you out. And no... I don't think he's planning anything but who knows it's really not my business."
He finished and looked at me. I sighed not satisfied with the answers. "When are we leaving?" He hummed to himself and sat there for awhile.
"Well since it's already early why don't we leave today about two... gives us time to pack and do what we need to do... sound good?"
"I guess although I don't like it. Do you think I could talk to the Hokage? Maybe he'll change his mind."
Kakashi sensei just shrugged. "I mean you can of course but you've dealt with him enough to know he's stubborn and doesn't change his mind very often."
I sighed knowing he was right when he made up his mind he didn't falter very easy and with everything that was going on you knew he was doing this for a reason... Alright guess I need to pack. I stood up. And bowed to Kakashi sensei.
"I guess I have no choice. I'll start packing straight away."
Kakashi sensei nodded and headed out the door. You made a list and went to the store stocking up on food pills and water. You pulled out a scroll and stored everything you needed inside other than some food pills and water along with a map. By the time you were done it was one. You decided to tell the postmen to hold your mail for a month and check with the Hokage about this morning's events and just like Kakashi sensei told you, he didn't change his mind no matter what you said. Felling defeated you made your way to the villages entrance. After fifteen minutes past two you grow impatient from waiting and decide to walk outside the gates and walk to the grass a few feet away but where Kakashi sensei could still see you once he finally decided to show up. I swear he's always late. I sat on the ground in the grass meditation style and decided to meditate. After what felt like forever you hear someone run up to you panting loudly. Barely opening one eye you see Kakashi sensei there trying to catch his breath. Instead of getting up you remain seated on the grass. He made you wait so you make him do the same. Ten minutes past and your finally interrupted.
"How do you do that?" Kakashi sensei asked. I opened my left eye and looked at him confused. "Do what?" I questioned. He point to my feet. Leaves were dancing in a perfect circle around me. I opened both my eyes in surprise. I had never noticed it before... was it something new? I shrugged at him.
"Don't know. Ive never noticed before." He stared at me for a minutes before he spoke. "I don't understand you and I'm not sure if i ever will." He muttered lowly before motioning for us to get going.
******TIME SKIP 4 HOUR'S*********
It felt like we had been walking forever and it was starting to get dark. My feet were aching and my stomach was making a huge racket. I dove into my pocket and pulled out a food pill chewing and swallowing quickly. I popped two more in my mouth hoping that would satisfy my hungry stomach. But sure enough ten minutes later it growled again. You wanted to ask for a break but didn't want to be a bother to Kakashi sensei. He seemed lost in thought anyways. After about another hour of walking your feet were in protest. They refused to move another step. You couldn't help but stop and sit down. Kakashi sensei didn't notice till he was a bout ten feet from you. He turned around and looked back to you. He jogged back quickly.
"Y/n chan are you alright what's going on?" You look up at him and wave him off. "I'm fine my feet just need a small break is all go on I'll catch up."
He shook his head and bent down in front of you. You were confused by this gesture and raised an eyebrow at him. He sighed and looked back to you.
"Get on." WHAT!? On his back. Hell no! "No thank you sensei." "What was that I didn't hear you." He retorted. I huffed. Him and his stupid rule.
"No thank you K..a..k..a..s..h..i sensei." You say over exaggerating his name. He you hear him snicker and stand up closer to you. He holds out his hand for you to take which you refuse like always. When you didn't take it instead of walking away like he always did he grabs your wrist and throws you gently on his back and you feel his arms pressing against your thighs. Your face starts to turn deep red and it feels like you're on fire you can't speak for a few minutes by just how embarrassed you are. "K...Ka...Kakashi sensei p..p..please put me d..down." You can hardly choke the words out. Your throat feels like its closing in on you. A man has never touch you anywhere with out the intent to kill and you're not happy about it.
"Just rest for a bit we have been walking for hours and I know you're tired. Plus your stomach is going to alert everything that we're here so we should probably eat soon. I was just hoping to reach the edge of the forest before we stopped. It's only about a thirty minute walk from where we are. And you are really light. So I don't mind carrying you the rest of the way. And nothing you say is going to change my mind got that?"
I sighed and didn't respond. He took that as a yes and started walking again. His steady walk was making me tired. So I laid my head on his shoulder and felt the blushing finally die down. Just like he said it was only about thirty minutes and you were on a dead end drop below you was a massive forest. Kakashi set you down and told you to stay. You almost feel the need to bark at him. Maybe he thought you were a puppy. Ha! As if. You get up slowly and walk to the edge and for some reason you couldn't help but feel excited. It truly was quite here. What the hell was Kakashi sensei doing in the village if he had a house out here. The sound of a water fall somewhere near by was clashing with the sound of the wind twisting its way up the mountain side. It was a sea of trees. You had traveled all over the place but were never met with such beauty and definitely never had the time to admire it either. It was the very definition of peace. Kakashi came back with wood and started a small fire. You wanted to help but were mesmerized by the view. Unable to move locked in place. You could sit here all day and stare at it getting lost in nature. You weren't sure how long it had been but Kakashi sensei nudged your shoulder handing you a small bowl of rice and some fish. You thank him holding the warm bowl in your lap. Still staring at the view.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" You nod your head. He chuckled lightly. "Wait till you see it during the day at sunset this is the best place to be." He said. You turned to look at him and he was looking forward smiling. So he must know the area well.
"Did you grow up here?" He nodded. "How come you live in the village than?" He shrugged. "When I was four we moved to the city. We still came out here to visit. Mostly me and my mom. Where we're going is the placed she grew up. I must admit it's been...awhile since I've seen it so we may need to do some dusting."
Hmmm. Kakashi sensei was full of surprises than. I hope this month goes by fast. I do love nature but that's alone. He wasn't bad company in fact since he also liked books you two could sit there for hours reading which didn't bother me a bit... but still there was nothing like being alone.. I helped him clean up and we camped out in the trees which was fine the limbs and them were quite huge. You put you bad behind your head and begin to nod off.
*********TIME SKIP 6 A.M.*********
You could feel something touching your face and you move your hand to push it away. But it happens again. You groan not ready to get up. But yet again another poke.
"Come on it's time to get up kid. I already made breakfast." The sound of food pulls you from dream land and you sit up rubbing your eye. Kakashi sensei is on the ground and looks up waiting for you patiently. You stand pick up your bag and jump down sitting on a make shift log chair. He hands you another bowl of rice with an egg on top. You thank him and begin to eat. You can't help but look around you everything looked so different during the day time. The tree's were all kinds of different shades of green. There were flowers everywhere all with birds and other small creature's. It really did take your breath away. You turn back around catching Kakashi sensei looking at you. He turned his head quickly to the side and you swear to god there's a slight blush on his face.
"What?" He looks at you nervously. "Uhh.. uh.. nothing really. I swear." I stared at him for a moment holding is gaze. Than looked away. Unsure of what to think about the situation. For now you let it go. I sighed contently. "I could stay out here forever." "Wouldn't you get lonely?" He responded. I shook my head no. I could never tire of being alone. You can't eat hurt.. if your alone.
"Hmmm.. I'm usually alone especially at home. I have my team in the black ops but they really aren't company. So I guess I understand. But even I crave human interaction every now and again."
He looked at me. He wasn't really staring this time it was more of an observational stare like he was trying to pin point something. You sigh again and stand up.
People only know how to hurt you. Or other's. I prefer being alone honestly...it's more simple that way. Anyways let's get going huh?" I say putting my hand out for Kakashi sensei to grab I looked away. I still don't like contact but for some reason he was okay. Better than most of the people I've met in awhile. His company wasn't a bother and he gave you space when you needed it and he was always checking up on you and well he was kind i guess... ****TIME SKIP 4 HOURS. KAKASHI'S POV*********
I couldn't help but look at y/n while we were jumping from tree to tree. We would go through the tree's like this until we reached the base of the farthest mountain. Than more walking. He checked on her feet this morning which she made a big fuss about, she didn't like him touching her. It was hilarious watching her turn red. But some of their conversation this morning was sticking with him. She would rather be alone. It bothered him. And he wasn't too sure what he could do about it. The only other thing he could think about was how distracting the girl was. Sure she wore black but when she stepped into the sun she seemed to glow out here. Her hair was bright and reflective while the sun made her eye's look like clear ice pools. Her skin was almost porcelain colored and made her look fragile. I couldn't stand it. But I also couldn't look away for long getting pulled in by her. He didn't know what was going on with him or what kind of weird spell she was putting him under but he didn't like it. She made it hard for him to think straight. Plus he still hadn't figured out her personality. She was feisty, smart, resilient and strong despite her small size. He noticed when carrying her yesterday that she was light. And couldn't be taller than 5'2. She was just a big mystery, that was the only way he could describe her. But one thing he did know is that she was starting to open up a bit. Being out here also seemed to help. Perhaps the Hokage does know what he's doing after all. She was more comfortable in seclusion
After a couple hour's of running we stopped to have lunch. She made it this time. Mumbling about paying him back for cooking two times in a row. Well he certainly didn't mind. He settled under a near by tree and pulled out his book peeking up time to time to watch her on occasion. They were in a tiny clearing and the sun was beating down on her. The wind blew her hair around her face, it felt cool and refreshing. She closed her eye's enjoying it he watched as she looked down at the fire and stirred the pot than moving to lay down on the grass. I raised an eyebrow at her than got up. Walking over to her casting a shadow on her face. She peeked one eye at me than patted the ground. I moved and laid beside her but not too close. We sat this way for a little while.
"Isn't the sky beautiful? It's so refreshing out here." She said pulling me out of my thoughts. I turned my head and looked at her. Her eye's were closed and there was the tiniest hint of a smile on her lips, they weren't really plump but they weren't little either. Her mouth fit her face just right. She just looked different out here. Back home she was always tense and short to the point. Never kept eye contact and never spoke unless she had too. But here... she was more carefree...leaving the village behind suited her. Much more than staying and working like dog all her life. But that wouldn't happen. The Hokage would never let her just up and leave. She was to 'precious' to the village. He didn't know why but this bothered him more than anything. She wasn't free to live her life. I mean neither was he. But he had nothing. Yeah he had the black ops but that was just a job. And he had the village it was the only thing driving him forward anymore. He had nothing else to live for other than the village. He had no idea what he was doing with his life. He just couldn't stand to see the same thing happening right in front of him with y/n. They were walking down the same path. Only he had more support than she did, her way of coping with it was work. I suppose being in the village is probably hard for her, a constant reminder of all the loss...I felt a little poke on my forehead. I opened my eye to see her standing above me.
"Are you alright Kakashi sensei? Ive been trying to get your attention for a few minutes now but you just kept looking at the sky. Lunch is done."
I sat up and she handed me a bowl of soup and some rice. It tasted pretty good considering our limited resources. After we were done we both laid back down on the grass.
"Are you sure you're alright?" She asked again. I nodded my head. "Yes I'm fine just lost in thought this place will do that too you. So be careful." She tilted her head up at me. Catching my attention. Than her eye's looked down.
"Right... I know what you mean... it's hard to focus when it feels like you're the only person in the world. It's so quite out here. And me and you are definitely not noisy people and nature is thriving all around us. It feels like we're the last two people on earth right Kakashi sensei?"
She looked back up at me. Her eye's kind of froze me in place making it hard to respond. He closed his eye and listened to the noises around him. Birds and leaves moving the breeze in the trees...she was right. How strange. Heh..I opened my eye again and looked at her.
"Ha...yeah you're right y/n. It is very secluded out here. I can see how it would make you feel that way."
She looked back down again breaking contact. And for some reason it made me feel kind of irritated. I wasn't done looking at her face. All of the sudden it got darker. We both looked up as a huge white puffy cloud drifted by. Than the sun came out again, I looked at her as she stood up. All this sun was making her light freckles darker. I could already tell a big difference. I got up as well and helped clean up our mess making sure to put out the fire. I don't think y/n could handle it if we burnt down the forest.
We continued jumping through he tree's which took us the rest of the day. Just as night fall we hit the beginning of the trail to my house. After I relayed this to y/n she practically cried from relief. He felt bad for pushing her so hard but they needed to get to the house as soon as possible so they could continue her training. I set up the fire and refused to let her cook. But she refused to back down so now you're both cooking. We sat in silence for awhile. I watched as the fire danced on her face. The moon was hidden by the clouds making our fire the only real light around. At night she changed..her bright hair and blue eye's were darker now and she was much more quite. Which was frustrating to say the least. So we continued our silence as we ate. Than we both sat under a tree by the fire. I watched as she took her shoes off rubbing her feet, than she laid on her stomach and watched the fire.
"How long will it take us to get there Kakashi sensei?" I laughed lightly. "We won't be walking the whole day if that's what you're asking. But it's still a few hour's to the house."
She sighed and put her face in her bag. I looked at her feet that were red and swollen. Hmmm. Maybe we should take it in a little bit easier tomorrow... I mean we were practically already there and earlier than planned too. She was a fast runner.
"Do you think it'll really take a whole month to train me?" She questioned never looking away from the fire.
I nodded. "It'll take longer than that honestly, but we can't stay out here too long. The village might need us and I'm sure the black ops team wont be happy with me when I return." I could hear them all complain now that I got to take a vacation with a cute girl while they were hiding in mud protecting the village from a far. I caught myself and blushed after calling y/n cute. No. No she isn't cute its this damn forest, she's just different in it. Plus as I said so many times before she is younger than me! She sighed again.
"I'm sorry the Hokage is forcing you to train me. Hopefully it'll go by fast so we can both get back to our lives..."
"Eh... I don't really mind to be honest. I'm not going to lie and say I was happy about it at first but this trips been nice so far and I get to know someone new. Plus I've been working nonstop and could've used a break. You're not forcing me to do anything I've been stuck for awhile."
She turned to look at me. Her eye's sealed me there for a minute before looking away again... god man this was going to be a long trip huh...he was just curious, he's never met anyone like her and she intrigues him that's all. It was her silence. Her way of thinking that had him on edge once he broke down her wall's the mystery would be over and we would all be able to get on with our lives. Sigh... Best not to dig to deep... he glanced at her again or he'll fall and he had a good feeling there was no way he could climb back up. Dinner was done and as always we ate in silence. Y/n always turned her back to me when we ate, and I actually appreciated the curtesy. She knew I never showed my face. She cleaned up and than laid on her bag and I rested on a near by tree.
"What type of Sharingan do you think I have?" "Hmmmmm. To be honest I don't know. But we'll figure it out. It took me awhile to figure out mine. But as you probably know I wasn't born with it."
She shook her head yes. "Yes grandma told me about it. I actually think it's kind of cool Obito did that for you. It's kinda like he's still around ya know."
She paused.. but didn't look at me while she spoke. "I wish the stars would come out. I brought a small telescope with me to view them. But I suppose it'd be best to look at them from the house huh?" She asked putting out the fire than laid back down turning away from me. I took that as my sign to go to bed too. She was out pretty quickly and he soft breath is what finally made me fall asleep.
***Y/n Pov***
~ You wake up to crashing and people screaming. The whole house was on fire, you try to stand and look down realizing you're a baby and before you can understand what's happening the door flies open and a woman with panic written all over her face comes in and grabs you. Wait you recognize her but you don't know why. She than take's you and runs through the door and through a gaping hole in the wall. You look around and realize your outside and it's night, there's fire and people running and screaming everywhere. Some ninja come down and try to attack the woman holding you but a man with white hair stops them before they can get to her. " Rasengan!" he yells before striking the intruder down. "Run! Go now I'll find you I swear!" He shout's to her. You see her hesitate than an explosion erupts. "GO NOW!" She turns and runs as fast as she can dodging people and enemy alike. There were dead bodies every where and the air was chocking you. You try to say something but only cries escape your lips. The woman looks down to you and smile's. "Shhhh little one everything is going to be okay. Mommy and daddy will protect you no matter what."
She leans down and kisses your forehead. She ran into the woods. But she didn't stop there she kept running. She ran for what seemed like forever before finally stopping at a small cave entrance, panting heavily trying to catch her breath. You look up at her she looked exhausted and defeated. For some reason the urge to touch her face become's unbearable so you do. She look's down at you and smiles. "Don't worry snowflake. Daddy will protect us I know it." She entered the cave and it was full of supplies. Which was odd unless they had planned this happening before hand. It felt like hours had passed and just when you felt sleep take you a small rustling sound come from the outside of the cave. The woman pulls out a kunai and picks you up hiding along the wall. The same white haired man comes in and she starts to cry. "Oh thank god I thought we lost you". She said before hugging the man who winces but returns the hug anyways.
"The whole village is gone. We tried to keep them out. But it was no use. We were heavily out numbered." He said peeking out through the cave. She let a few more tears escape her eye's. "Is..is everyone gone." He looked down than up to her without saying a word. She cried quietly. Covering her mouth with her hand. "What do we do. We didn't plan on it being this bad honey..." "We wait. If we try to leave now they'll discover us." She sighs. Than lays me down beside her. She rubs your tummy and hums a lullaby. It only takes a few minute's and your asleep...
You suddenly wake up to the sound of a woman screaming. "N0 Please spare her she has nothing to do with this!" You look up in the arms of someone you've never seen before his face looked blurry. He was squeezing you tightly and it hurt. You begin to cry and the woman shouts again. 'Please stop! I'll tell you whatever you want to know! Just don't hurt my daughter. Please! Take me instead! I can be of use to you!" You look down and see the white haired man laying on the floor blood covering most of him. You cry harder confused and scarred the woman tries to run to you but another man punches her in the stomach knocking her to the floor. He has a kunai to her neck. "Sorry dear I'm afraid we're not taking prisoners today." You at her and the man slides the blade over her neck. And than everything goes black and starts to shake. ~
