Y/n decided to come earlier than everyone she wanted to observe how everyone acted before she jumped in. She was in a tree wearing her full Anub attire besides her Anub mask trading her neck hugging shirt for one with a mask like Kakashi's had, she didn't need these kids recognizing her around town. Y/n was hiding so no one would know she was there. Three kids showed up bickering the whole time. The blonde one kept trying to beat up the black Haired boy...hmmm he looked familiar. Than it hit her that was Sasuke...she'd never seen him before. He was just a baby when she left and moved some where else when she came back. He probably didn't even know they were related. Y/n pulled out her book ten minutes past the meet up time bored already. After thirty minutes passed she was starting to wonder if she had the right group of kids. Maybe she misunderstood the scroll but she shook her head no. She didn't read it wrong the teacher was just late. Once a full hour passed she debated leaving but just as she was about to stand a familiar silver haired ninja appeared give some half ass reason for being so late. Son of a bitch...he was the sensei for this team...of course he was. She cursed the universe for her bad luck. It didn't pain her to be around him now. On the account of everything she once felt for him had turned into hatred. She hated the cocky, lazy, arrogant no good mother fucker to her very core. He could go jump in a ditch for all she cared. The situation now pleased her. She didn't care before if they happened to see her. But now she wanted to get the edge on Kakashi and went into major stealth mode disappearing. He was already looking around a bit paranoid. She watched for awhile as he tried to instruct the team on Taijutsu. Something she had been practicing day and night after their battle. The kid's weren't listening and he was too lazy to care. Kakashi stood underneath the tree she was in, he hadn't noticed but that was because she was sealing her chakra. Didn't need old lefty spotting her before it was time. Kakashi was trying to re-explain how to ambush an opponent something she was an expert in. He looked down and ran his hand through his hair exhausted trying to explain this simple lesson to the now fighting children. Y/n took that as her chance and leaped from the tree releasing her chakra before colliding with Kakashi he looked up surprised right before she landed on him and pinned his arm behind his back. He grunted unprepared for the sudden attack. She held him there for a minute tightening her grip right before letting go. She stood to the side and folded her arm over her chest. The kids had completely forgot their argument and ran up to her excitedly.
"Wow lady that was cool!" "How did you do that? I didn't even know you were there!" "Can you show me how to sneak up on Kakashi sensei?"
She backed away a bit overwhelmed with all the questions. Kakashi stood beside her a bit irritable from her stunt while also being impressed too. She managed to get him before he even knew she was there. He shot a glance at her she was wearing a mask like him and he sorta liked it. She was mysterious..but her eye's gave away she was unhappy with her current situation. Kakashi however found this to be a perfect opportunity to get to talk to her. She was still mad but he would change that in time. She had no choice in the matter and he wasn't going to let the chance to mend thing's slip away.
"Guy's this is Y/n Uchiha. She will be helping me for a little while. So listen to her and do as she says." Sasuke was the first to speak.
"Your a Uchiha?" She nodded at him. "Prove it." He challenged. Y/n closed her eye's than reopened them. Everyone gasped.
Sasuke got closer and inspected her eye's. Than he nodded backing away.
"I didn't know there was anyone left beside me." "Yeah...I've never met you actually. Our families must of not been to close I guess." Y/n smiled at him a bit sheepishly. Knowing she should have probably reached out at some point. But she had her own shit to deal with.
"Y/n sensei teach me how to take down Kakashi sensei!" The blonde one screamed at her. She held her hands up in surrender not wanting the kid to get the wrong idea. "Whoa. Whoa. Whoa kid I'm not your sensei. He is." Y/n pointed to Kakashi. The blonde looked back at her confused.
"But you're training us aren't you? Doesn't that make you our sensei?" She patted his head causing him to pout.
"No dude. I'm in the Anbu. I'm just helping out until I get another mission. Who know's I might not be here tomorrow."
Y/n prayed to whatever might be out there listening that she'd receive a real mission tomorrow far away from the stupid silver haired shinobi who was staring at her with his eyebrow raised. His reaction almost made her feel like her wish was a lost cause.
"You can just call me Y/n anyways I'm not into that formal shit." Kakashi put his hand over her masked mouth and it took every once of strength she had too not bite it off. He told the kids to try recreating what Y/n had did to him and pulled her aside with his hand still on her mouth. She mumbled something he couldn't understand and he blushed realizing his hand was still on her face.
"Man what's your problem 'sensei'?" She asked making sure to over exaggerate the sensei. He rolled his eye. "Watch your mouth in front of the kid's alright?"
She folded her arms over her chest and huffed at him. "So sorry mouth police didn't mean to taint your children." He sighed she sure was a whole hell of a lot sassier now. And unfortunately he just found it kind of hot. She'd always been stubborn but that seemed to amplifie while she was gone. He liked it and wondered what other part's of her personality had changed.
"Moving past your bad mouth. Your late. You were supposed to be here hour's ago." She scoffed at him and pulled her mask down to light a cigarette. He watched her draw it in and puff out smoke. Now that he was up close he noticed even though he scarred her lip it was a least a smooth cut. The one she left on him was rough and jagged. "Joke's on you asshole I was here before everyone. But you however were late a fucking hour late. I almost left. Where the fuck where you?"
He was a bit surprised she'd gotten here so early and looked at her a bit amused. She rolled her eye's not wanting him to think she got there early just so she could see him. "I don't know how to teach. I thought I could observe the 'teacher' before I jumped in. I didn't know the teacher would be you." She sighed and sat under a tree watching the kids trying to copy her earlier stunt. "I'm not cut out for this...I don't have the patience for kid's... you know that better than anyone." He sat down beside her making sure to keep his distance. "Yeah to be honest I'm surprised she assigned you this position." He admitted. "Temporary position." Y/n corrected him taking another drag off her cigarette. He shook his head. "I'm still in the Anbu. I'm not ready to retire. I was hoping when I got back I'd get put back on the team. But Tsunade said I had to take some time off."
She wined. Wishing she could be anywhere but here. Kakashi couldn't believe she already wanted to go back to work after she had been gone so long.
"But I guess this is the hand I'm being dealt so I need roll with it." Their conversation was going so well Kakashi wanted to try to apologize again. He cleared his throat which caught her attention and she looked at him expectantly.
"So..I know I tired the other day and I was stupid. But I just want to say.. I really am sorry Y/n." He stopped hoping she would respond positively . She looked at him with a bored expression. "It's cool." Kakashi looked at her confused. Not understanding why she was being so nonchalant about the situation now when Saturday she exploded on him. He couldn't keep up with her mood swings. "But I don't understand." He said still extremely confused wanting her to clarify what was going on. She shrugged. "Look Kakashi I'm over it okay? We were young and stupid. Let's just move past it."
Her words perplexed him. So was she saying she forgave him now? "So do you forgive me than?" She nodded. "Yeah sure. Whatever. No big deal man."
He was more lost than ever now. He didn't understand how she was so complacent. It was like she didn't give a shit about anything now. And that worried Kakashi more than it did when she was mad at him. Having angry feelings was better than her having absolutely none.
"But you were so mad Saturday. I didn't think you'd cool down this quick." She chuckled dryly. "Dude we haven't seen each other for over two years. Of course I was mad. But really I don't care it's fine. Let's just drop it. I forgive you is that what you want?"
Her tone was a tad sarcastic but Kakashi hoped what she was saying was really true. "Does that mean were friends again?'
She laughed louder this time and stood pulling the mask back over her mouth.
"No... Kakashi... we don't mix well I'm sure you've noticed. But we are fellow shinobi so we should treat each other as such. I don't want stupid personal feelings to get in the way since we have to work together for the time being and we need to get along if we end up on missions together."
She looked away from him and back to the now arguing children. "All that stuff is in the past so lets keep it there huh? Can't we just get along so thing go more smoothly for everyone?"
Kakashi didn't know what to say as her words slapped him in the face. She walked up to him and held out her hand. He shook it reluctantly and Y/n announced she was going to go have the kids introduce themselves to her and try to help them out if she could while walking away. Her words hurt him pretty deeply but he was not going to give up hope on trying to properly mend things.
And Kakashi stayed true to his word. He didn't give up. Actually he bugged the piss out of poor Y/n. He would talk her head off the whole time they trained team 7 and she would walk her home. No matter how busy she said she was. And if she wasn't going home he'd follow her to where ever else she was off too. And he would 'bump' into her in town. At fist Y/n ignored it quite easily, she figured he was trying to re-establish their friendship but after a month of his incessant bugging she had just about had it. Her anger had long since faded and now she just found the fucker annoying.
"Kakashi sensei. Quit bugging Y/n she trying to teach us something." Sakura complained. Y/n was trying to help them understand how to make clones and Kakashi just kept asking her questions and to wanted her to spar him.
"But I want her to spar with me. It would be educational right Y/n?" She rolled her eye's at him. He'd been trying to get her to spar with him for a month, saying she could take all her frustration out at him and they could be friends again. He was like a two year old poking an already agitated cat just asking to be scratched. She glared daggers at him before sighing. "Why don't you guy's practice doing some clones on your own for awhile. And see if you can help each other improve."
She walked to a near by tree and sat down lighting a cigarette pulling out one of her books. Kakashi followed her suit pulling out his own book which he was clearly not paying attention too since he was too busy watching her as she watched the kids. Even though she didn't want to teach kids and much to his surprise she was actually quite good at it. The only thing that stung was they seemed to like her more then him but he really couldn't blame them he liked her too. They thought she was cool and well she was taking this a bit more serious than him. But she always gave one hundred percent in every task she had. And this thought brought to his attention that he really had no right to be mad at her back than. She was just following orders like a good shinobi who loved her village and people who lived in it just like him. He wished he had realized that sooner. And if he would've thought about it rationally she would have come back and than they could've picked up where they had left off instead of starting all over again. He really wanted to spar her. He thought maybe if she beat the piss out of him than she would feel better and they could start over again. But of course like always she didn't agree with him.
"For some one who hate's kids you're rather good with them." He stated. She gave a faint smile not taking her eye's off the young ninja's. She sat there for a moment before turning to him to speak. "You think so?" He smiled at her. "Yup. You're a natural. They like you more than me now." She smacked his arm playfully but instantly retracted it like he'd burned her hand. "I'm not going to bite you know." She sighed. "Ha yeah how do I know that."
Y/n said under her breath sarcastically. But than her expression turned serious. "They only like me more because I show up on time and keep them from killing each other." Kakashi laughed. "Hell you're already doing better than me. Maybe you should think about doing it permanently."
She busted out laughing this time causing Kakashi to fall back being surprised by the sudden outburst. "I'm not teacher material idiot. I like the Anbu this is so boring I don't know how you stand it honestly. It's really hard for me to hold my punches and slow down so they understand...it's just not my thing."
He eye'd her curiously trying to imagine her actually being a teacher but he couldn't. The image just didn't fit her. Although he didn't think the Anbu was quite right for her either but she enjoyed the job and was actually really good at it. Naruto shouting at Sasuke caught both the Jonins attention. Y/n shouted at them.
"Hey if you guy's don't quit fighting I'm going to kick your asses! Do some solo training I don't have the patience to listen to you argue today!"
Everyone apologized and separated from each other. Kakashi chuckled and she snapped her head back to him giving him a what? Look.
"Do you know how many times I've told them that and it never works?" She smirked at him. He loved the look of confidence on her face. It made her even sexier.
"I actually do it though. I can't count how many times I've kicked these kids butts all over this field. And that's just training. I've had to knock a head or two around as well."
They both laughed. "How come you're being so relaxed with them? You weren't with me." She asked wondering why he was taking it so easy on the young shinobi when he used to drag her into the ground till she could barley walk. Kakashi looked away from her and watched as Naruto tried to make a clone, it was pitiful to say the least. Than he looked back to her with a small smile.
"Because you needed hard training. If I didn't train you hard you'd do it by yourself, it challenged us both and watching you get stronger in turn made me want to as well. You pushed me to be better. These kids don't really need that. They can't even get along, but I'm working with them they'll get it eventually."
She hummed at him and lit another cigarette. "So I pushed you to be better huh? I'm not buying it." She scoffed. "I mean it Y/n. I'm not lying. Even if i was a complete dick to you and took you for granted you did make me a better person. At least now anyways."
She just looked at him blankly before standing up. "That's enough training today don't you think? Naruto looks like he's about to blow a blood vessel."
Kakashi sighed this was always how their conversations ended up going. As soon as he tried getting close to her she'd stop him and than leave. He nodded yes despite wanting to do the very opposite. Knowing pushing her was a bad idea. Although she said she didn't want to be friends anymore she was starting to loosen up around him. Before he couldn't even get her to have a conversation with him, but now they're talking again and joking around. He was close he could feel it.
Y/n told everyone goodbye than headed home. She was happy Kakashi wasn't following her for once. She was pretty bored so she decided to stop by Lady Tsunade's office and see if she had any missions for her, but just like the last few weeks she said no.
"You know Kakashi told me your doing an awesome job and his teams improving well. So I'd really like to keep you there for now."
Y/n nodded. She sighed once she was out of the building. Teaching was boring. And having to do it with Kakashi sucked. Just as she rounded the corner a kid with black hair in a ponytail hit her and fell to ground with an oof. He looked up to her surprised than blushed lightly as she eyed him. She held out her hand and he took it. Once he was on his feet again she patted his head.
"Watch where your going there dude." She smiled at him, before the boy could speak Asuma's voice came from behind him.
"Hey Y/n it's been a minute how you been?" The black haired boy looked to the white headed woman who's name was Y/n. He blushed a bit harder thinking she was pretty and he had just straight face planted into her than fell to the ground.
"Hey Asuma I'm good. Where are you headed? Is this your team?" He nodded introducing them. This is Choji." He pointed the broad boy. Than he gestured to the blonde girl. "This is Ino. And the one who just walked into you is Shikamaru. We're head out to train."
She smiled at the kids than waved. "I just came back from doing that actually. Oh and hey guys nice to meet you I'm pretty good friends with your sensei." She watched as the Shikamaru blushed again than shoved his hands in his pockets continuing to walk forward. "We're gonna be late sensei and that'd be a drag."
She chuckled a bit at his reaction. "You guys go ahead I'll be right there." Asuma announced to them and the kids started to walk away.
"How are thing's going? It's been about two weeks since you've come to the house." She smiled at him Kurenai had already voiced this complaint to her. But she was just so busy with helping train the team and dealing with Kakashi's mess she was wiped by the end off it and there never seemed to be enough hours in the day.
"Yeah. Yeah I know. Your woman already wined to me the other day I told her I'd come over and hang out this weekend is that alright?"
He smiled "We were going to invite the whole gang... that cool?" Y/n rolled her eyes at him than put her hands on her hips.
"Yes it's fine you already know that. I'm not mad at him anymore." "How's helping him teach been going?"
She sighed. "It's okay. Boring as fuck but okay. Me and Kakashi are getting along besides when he decides to follow me around like a lost puppy. I'm actually surprised he's not here." She said irritatedly. Asuma laughed at her. "You know he's just trying to be friends again. He'll quit eventually."
Oh how wrong he was.
***TIME SKIP FRIDAY 3 RD POV***
It had been a long day training the young shinobi. Y/n was especially brutal. She'd showed up in a fowl mood and it plagued her throughout the day. It was now just a little past lunch and the kids were wiped, panting on the ground from the exertion. She sat in a tree looking for another Taijutsu to teach them. They had gotten a hold of the simple techniques it was time for her to step up the game. Kakashi walked to her tree and stared at her. He wasn't sure what was going on that had her so on edge. And he wished he could read her mind at least than he'd know what was wrong.
"Uhm Y/n?" Kakashi said trying to tread lightly. She peered down to him and raised an eyebrow, he couldn't see the rest of her face for the mask she was wearing and continued to wear every day they trained. Kakashi liked the mask at first. Kind of made her mysterious. But now he hated it. It made her expressions unreadable and felt like a huge wall between him. He didn't know if she was wearing it because she didn't want him to see her face or for some other reason, all he knew was he didn't like it and wanted her to take it off. "Yes?" She answered a bit short.
He rubbed the back of his head and smiled. "I think the kids might of had enough for today don't you think?" She rolled up her scroll and jumped down to him. Finally pulling her mask down to smoke. She looked tired as hell. Y/n had looked that way all day but her punches and kicks never faltered and she never seemed to get enough when they were finished. "Dude it's lunch time we still have hours left to go. Why do you wanna stop?" He gestured to the shinobi on the ground.
"They're not like you Y/n they don't have the energy to keep going forever. Let's cut them some slack." She looked away from him and glanced at the kids feeling a bit bad about over doing it. She shook her head and told the kids they could take the rest of the day off but not without giving them some money for ramen. She felt bad and wanted to repay them. Once she handed them the money they all jumped up excited and ran off. She chuckled softly than her smile fell once she faced Kakashi. He smiled at her.
"If you want to burn more energy we can spar?" She sighed picking up her things and getting ready to leave. "I don't want to spar with you Kakashi. It didn't exactly go well last time if you remember and I might accidentally kill you in the process." She smirked at the last of her words.
"I would never do anything like that to you again. I was stupid and wrong. I bet it'd make you feel good to show me how strong you've gotten besides you wouldn't kill me anyways."
She gave him a deadpan stare at how ridiculous he was. "No Kakashi. Now I gotta go see you at Kurenai's." She left a little quicker than normal making it to her house in record time locking the door behind her and putting her stuff on the table. She moved to the couch plopping on it with a sigh. Y/n didn't like being in a bad mood it always took too much energy. But Kakashi's words from the other day kept ringing in her mind. She made him a 'better' person. What the hell did that even mean? If he was a better person he wouldn't have hurt her...buttttt. He also said 'better person now'. Sooo she managed to make him a better person by not even being there? It confused the hell out of her. The stupid silver haired shinobi had kept her up all night. Thoughts of him kept snaking their way into her mind. She definitely didn't hate him anymore and he had apologized a million times and was trying very hard to rebuild their friendship. It wouldn't hurt her to be friends with him sure they'd never be friends like before. But something was stopping her. Here lately, even if he was absolutely fucking irritating, she had caught herself staring at him when he read or noticed how his mask would move when he smiled. How his voice sounded different when he spoke to her. How she didn't really mind his stupid conversations anymore and she actually enjoyed teaching with him and missed his company. She liked looking at his face and listening to his laugh. Y/n jumped up from the couch blushing. She smacked her cheeks and went to the balcony lighting a cigarette. Stupid aloof ninja she shouted in her mind. Yes if she agreed to them being friends she was worried her newly budding feeling would get stronger and come to the surface. Y/n didn't understand the new things she was feeling, she'd never felt them before and they were terrifying. She'd never thought of being in a relationship before. Hell she'd never even kissed anyone. Yeah her Icha Icha books described shit but the words didn't really have to much effect on her since she had no idea what sex felt like. Once the word sex crossed her mind she turned red again and shook her head. Maybe going to town would help. She grabbed her things and left. After walking around for a few hours Y/n still couldn't clear her mind of Kakashi. In fact she was kind of hoping she'd bump into him which only pissed her off more. It was getting late the sun was beginning to go down and her stomach was growling. But she didn't have time for food she needed a distraction from the silver haired man that continued to haunt her wherever she went. The only place she could think of was the clearing by the east gate. She stopped mid step and turned around in a new direction. Unaware that the silver haired ninja she was trying to run from was watching her with curiosity.
Kakashi was slowly following Y/n in town. It wasn't like he was stalking her. He was leaving Ichiraku's when she passed by, not even noticing him she was so lost in thought. He was actually a bit concerned for her, she'd been acting off all day so he decided to follow her. He panicked when she stopped walking and than turned back towards him. Kakashi quickly stood to the side afraid she spotted him but Y/n just kept going determination all over her face. This peeked his curiosity even more as he continued to follow the white headed woman. His curiosity turned to confusion when he realized they were going towards the east gate. He stopped and watched as the guards let her through. What the hell was she doing leaving Konoha? Once she was outside Y/n made a left. Wait she wasn't going to the clearing was she? Kakashi was extremely worried now and made his way after her. The Guards didn't say anything when he ran past them and went in the same direction as Y/n. Now when you normally patrolled the area it would take you a few hour's to get to the clearing. But this lady was booking it. She was jumping from tree to tree at an alarming speed. Even though Kakashi was trying to keep his distance so she wouldn't notice him he'd be screwed if he lost sight of her all together. Y/n had always been fast it was one of her best qualities. Kakashi could barely keep up with her back than, but now it was impossible. He had to activate his Sharingan and rely on her chakra to lead the way. After about thirty minutes of running she finally stopped once she hit the clearing and bent down with her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath. He stayed a pretty fair distance away as to not alert her of his presence. Than she made a clone and started sparing with it. Kakashi felt his chest tighten. Of all places why did she have to come here? What was the purpose of coming to this spot to bring up bad memories? He wanted... No. Needed to know why she was there so he decided to give up his hiding spot and walked closer to her. He saw Y/n look at him with her face scrunched in confusion. She released her clone and gazed at him angrily.
"Why the hell are you here Hatake? Are you following me?" He blushed a bit embarrassed but he tried to keep his cool
"I was worried honestly. You've been acting off all day. And why are you training here? Do you like constantly giving yourself pain? Why are you trying to make yourself suffer I don't understand you?"
She didn't respond to him looking at the ground pissed. He couldn't make out her full expression yet again because of the stupid mask.
"Why are you here Y/n?" "It's none of your business." She replayed plainly. "No it is my business. Whatever is going on with you obviously involves me. So instead of fighting your clone spar with me."
She shook her head no. He sighed walking closer to her. "Why not!? I know your still mad..." "I'm not mad!" She shouted. His presence was defeating the whole purpose of why she was there so she began to walk off but Kakashi caught her hand. She turned to face him. He was staring at her with desperation.
"Than what's wrong you're not leaving till you tell me. How can I make it better if you won't tell me." "You can't make it better!" Y/n screamed trying to get him to release her wrist but he wouldn't budge not until she told him what was going on.
"Let go Kakashi! Or I'm going to hurt you." She stated hoping he'd do as she asked. "No. Not until you spar with me." He countered. Y/n was ready to rip her hair out with his constant request to fight. Fine if this mother fucker wants a fight. Than a fight he'll get.
"Fine." Was all Y/n said. He watched her in confusion but she only stared back at him. A smile started to pull at his lips.
"Really?" He asked unsure if she meant it. "You've got five seconds to let go or I take back the offer." And with that he let go. Now he had been watching her fight for over the past month but her fighting kids wasn't the same as him. "Are there any rules?" Kakashi wondered. He wanted her to set the boundaries so she would feel comfortable. Y/n nodded.
"No weapons. Taijutsu only. And I won't use my Sharingan to keep the match fair. Wouldn't be much of a fight if you can't see me."
He was relieved. Her invisibility was a huge advantage and he'd lose for sure. "Alright seems fair I'll let you start Feisty."
At the sound of her old nickname Y/n lunged at Kakashi landing a kick to his rib cage knocking him down. But as he got back up she tripped him sending him back to the floor. Than she backflipped into a tree behind her letting him gain his footing. He wasn't going to lie she took him by surprise. Her speed and accuracy had increased ten fold. He stood there for a moment before lunging at her which she easily dodged. Kakashi was throwing kicks and punches left and right but Y/n dodged them all and landed a few of her own. They fought like that for a few hours. The sun had long set they both stood there huffing from the hours of excursion. Kakashi leaned against a tree trying to catch his breath.
"Why are you here Y/n?" He asked again. She threw another punch at him and he blocked it grabbing her wrist in the process and throwing her to the ground. She responded by grabbing his leg making him fall to the ground too. They both laid there completely out of breath.
"Tell me...huff..huff...why you're...huff..huff...here Y/n." She closed her eye's unwilling to share her feelings with him. He didn't deserve her feelings that's why she was so mad now. After all the bullshit he put her through. After he ripped her heart out and crushed it. After all of that crap she had fucking feelings for the bastard and she didn't know why... she couldn't explain why... She was so happy to see him. He still felt so familiar to her like they never fought never separated. She wanted to give him another chance and start over and it pissed her the fuck off. Kakashi felt Y/n's body move and narrowly dodged her elbow coming right for his face, her elbow connected with the ground crushing under the impact. Than she lunged forward again. He jumped backwards trying to creat some distance. The moon lit up her whole figure. And if she wasn't running full speed towards him at that moment he would have thought she was some type of goddess. He could see anger returning to her eye's as she sloppily threw punches and kicks too angry to care anymore. Kakashi was just blocking them now as he watched tears start to brim her eyes and her fists hit him lighter and lighter until she stopped and just stood there crying. She hated feeling like this, she hated she was no longer mad at Kakashi. That she really just wanted to tell him she missed him and this grudge was stupid. She missed their hours of talks and laying under the stars, his cooking and stupid complaining. She missed just sitting in comfortable silence as they both read till late at night. She missed his stupid antics and aloof attitude. Y/n stood in front of Kakashi silently crying he could see the tears staining her mask. Her shoulders were shaking and her breath started to hitch. He closed the distance between them and hugged her. Y/n began to sob louder into his shirt as her knees began to give out. Kakashi tightened the grasp on her waist and lowered them slowly to their knees. She tried to push him away weakly but he wouldn't budge which only made her cry more. He rubbed circles on her back and laid his head on top of hers while he pulled Y/n into a tighter hug. After a few minutes of sitting like that her sobs died down and turned into sniffling. Kakashi felt her arms wrap around him tightening they're embrace.
"I missed you." She whispered into his chest. He smiled, than separated her slightly only to pull her on his lap and hugged her even tighter than before burying his head in her shoulder.
"I missed you too soooo much." Kakashi could feel his eye's stinging with tears as well. He didn't want to cry in front of her but at that moment he didn't care. They were hugging each other and crying like stupid little kids if someone had a problem with it they could take it up with him. He forgot what it was like to hug her. She was warm and had cold hands like always. Even though she had gotten taller and filled out a bit she still felt pretty small in his arms like she always had. They stayed that way for awhile not saying anything just happy to finally have each other back. But Y/n's stomach growled making Kakashi laugh. He stood up and pulled Y/n with him not letting her hand go. What if he let go and this was all a dream. He watched the blue eyed girl stumble a bit the exhaustion was evident on her face. She tried to walk to her bag but Kakashi wouldn't let go. She turned to him and tilted her head a bit wondering what he was doing. But he didn't say anything and held her hand as they walked over to her stuff. She grabbed her bag and drank some water offering it to Kakashi who in turn opened his mouth for her to pour it in. She pored some water on his face. "How dare you." He said giving her a devilish look. Kakashi pulled her closer and plucked the water from her hand pouring it on her as well. And that's how they ended up soaking wet walking back to the gates laughing at each other and talking like nothing bad ever happened between them.
Y/n yawned once they passed through the gates. She was becoming more unsteady with each step she took. Kakashi noticed and stopped them. He let her hand go and walked in front of her bending for her to get on his back.
"Come on." He gestured to her. Normally she'd refuse. But her leg's just couldn't go any further, so she hopped on. He secured her in place before walking again. Damn him for keeping me up all night Y/n thought. But she definitely wasn't mad at the situation. She laid her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his neck. The motion caused both of them to blush. She was happy he couldn't see her face. His body was warm and she could feel the muscles in his back with every step he took. His grip on her thighs was firm but not to hard, his hands felt a bit rough but hers were too. His shoulders were also quite muscular although she didn't know how considering he never seemed to train. His heart beat was steady as was his breath. Y/n hoped she wasn't too heavy for him.
"I hope I'm not too heavy." She mumbled into his shoulder. He scoffed but chuckled lightly. "Y/n you are by no means heavy trust me. Naruto feels heavier than you."
She rolled her eye's knowing he was lying. But Y/n's weight was the last thing on Kakashi's mind. Her chest was pushed against his back and although he really couldn't feel much, stupid Jonin vest he thought, her warmth was surrounding his back. He hadn't stopped blushing since he picked her up. It didn't phase him before, carrying her like this use to feel normal, but now it only stirred up his feels for her. Kakashi had to remind himself to take things one step at a time. There was no need to rush plus he didn't have a clue on how she felt about him. Y/n was close to passing out by the time they reached Kakashi's house he gently set her on the couch and instantly started cooking. He thanked himself for cleaning earlier that day. Y/n sat on his couch sleepily. Her damp clothes were irritating but sleeping felt more important than comfort right now. She was starting to nod off when Kakashi spoke to her.
"Hey sleepy go to my room and change it's not good to stay in those wet clothes. I'm pretty sure I don't have anything that'll fit you but it'll be dry. Dinner should be done when you come back...do you...uhm.. remember where everything is?"
She smiled slightly knowing she remembered where he kept everything in his house. Y/n nodded than walked to Kakashi's room. It looked exactly the same other than a picture on the night stand. It was a picture of them. She picked it up inspecting it.
Y/n couldn't help but smile as she remembered taking the photo. Kurenai had actually forced them to take it and said they both had to look happy or they'd stand there all day. It made her face heat up a bit knowing he stuck it there. So he really did miss me huh she thought touched my the mento. Y/n set it back down and walked over to his dresser. Her bra was a bit damp but if she wore a black shirt it'd be fine her shorts were still a bit wet but he didn't have any pants that would fit her. She settled for the shirt, pulling off her wet one and pulling his large black one over her head. It could be a night dress she giggled to her self. She looked down than his scent hit her. She inhaled through her nose lightly a small smile forming on her lips but than she mentally smacked herself. Stop being a creep you idiot. Y/n shook her head, what were these stupid feelings doing to her. Kakashi knocked on the door making her jump. She opened it and his gaze scanned her figure. He liked how she looked in his shirt. It almost covered her knees. He blushed wondering if she had shorts under there, the thought of her walking around his house in just his shirt and panties was too much for him to handle. Y/n looked back at Kakashi a little confused she couldn't read his expression and he was acting a little odd.
"Is everything alright?" She questioned he didn't answer but grabbed her hand pulling her to the kitchen table that had food on it.
She could see he'd already eaten.
"When's the last time you ate?" He asked watching her practically inhale her food. She blushed which caught his attention. Her mask was finally gone and he could see her beautiful face in full now. He liked the red color on her skin and his fingers twitched under the table wanting to touch her cheek to see if it was as warm as it looked, but he fought the urge reminding himself one step at a time. She scrunched her nose like she always did when thinking.
"Last night." She replied eating again. He arched a brow at her. He hoped she was properly taking care of herself of course that didn't matter now because he'd make sure she did. He shook his head in disapproval. "That's not healthy short stack. You gotta take better care of yourself." She rolled her eye's and nodded.
Kakashi put his arm on the table resting his head on his hand while he watched her. She looked at him like he was crazy. "What?"
"Hmmm.. just noticing how much you've changed. And how you're still the same too. And how much I missed having you around."
He finished smiling at her. She blushed than smacked his arm picking up her dishes to wash them. Once that was done they walked to the couch and talked to each other until they fell asleep side by side.
