Bo's POV
Lauren nodded when I asked if she wanted to have that drink now. Her aura is doing things to me. My Succubus practically purred when she nodded. I held out my hand to her and she reached out and put her hand in mine. I've always heard about people talking about sparks flying when they meet the one. I felt sparks as soon as her hand touched mine. I saw her eyes widen and look to mine. I gave her a small smile and led her over to a table in the corner.
Hey brown eyes are darker than my own and I felt like I could drown in them. Her long blonde hair was wavy and went halfway down her back. I wonder if it's as soft and silky as it looks? I shook my head when I noticed Lauren looking at me intently. "You're a Succubus," she said this gently and her eyes showed she was curious about something. I swallowed and nodded. God I hope she wasn't going to turn and run away from me. I need to get to know this woman. I don't know why but my body and the Succubus inside of me told me I need to get to know her.
"You're the unaligned one," Lauren said quietly and I nodded again. "I am, I chose humans," I told her sincerely. It was true. Kenzi had been the first person that just rolled with what I have done in the past and she is human. I chose humans because I grew up thinking I was one. Humans are better than the Fae. Lauren looked at me in awe. "I'm a doctor for the Light Fae, my full name is Lauren Lewis," she looked me in the eye and I felt her aura spike with what I could tell was want.
"Can I ask you a question and feel free to say no if this crosses a line," Lauren suddenly looked very nervous. I felt my heart rate spike and felt the need to kiss her but I held back. "Ask away," I said confidently. "Can you use your powers on me? I have studied many different kinds of Fae but never a Succubus and I've read a lot about…." She trailed off and looked at me. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked you that," she went to stand up and I panicked. I didn't want her to move.
I grabbed her arm gently and pulled her back down into the booth next to me this time instead of across from me. "It's okay that you asked me. You're actually the first person to ever ask me to do that," I assured her and she hesitated but stayed where she was.
The way her aura was burning I could tell that if I used even a little bit of my powers on her that her aura would cause me to explode. Or at least that's how it feels. "Maybe another day… I've had a few drinks and if I were going to do that I would need to make sure I was completely in control and that I had fed beforehand," I felt the need to be honest with her. She looked at me in surprise.
"I didn't think you would say yes. I too have had a few drinks and probably wouldn't have asked otherwise," she admitted. "I can come visit you some time for scientific purposes," I told her and winked. She laughed and I knew I wanted to hear that again. I love her voice.
We sat and talked for another couple hours until Kenzi came over and fell into the booth across from Lauren and I. "Bobo, I want to go home now," she whined, and I could tell she was very drunk. I sighed because I really did not want to leave Lauren's side. We had moved slightly closer and I had my arm on the back of the seat and close to her shoulders. She had told me she is a doctor and was a trauma surgeon in the Army before she came home and started working for the Fae.
Her eyes watched me as I downed the rest of my beer. I turned to Lauren and saw her looking at my lips. I smirked and she looked up in time to realize I had caught her staring. "So, can I come see you at the Light Fae labs?" I asked her and suddenly felt very nervous that she might say no after all. "Please do I'm there pretty much all the time so come by whenever you have a chance," she told me and sounded happy. I felt like I was on top of the world until I heard Kenzi groan. "Can we please leave now Bo," Kenzi looked like she had drank a bit too much.
"See you soon Dr. Lewis," I said as I stood up and winked at her
Lauren's POV
As soon as Bo and her friend disappeared Tamsin came and sat in Bo's place. She stared hard at me until I rolled my eyes and asked her what her problem was. "You cannot get involved with the unaligned Succubus, Lauren she is dangerous word is she doesn't have full control of her powers and with you being human she could hurt you or worse," Tamsin did sound sincere but I could tell she just didn't like Bo for some reason.
"Time for me to head home Tamsin," I told her and stood up and pulled on my brown leather jacket. I caught Tamsin staring at me as I zipped the jacket up. "You look really good tonight Lewis," Tamsin told me as we started walking to her truck. Hale waved at me as I walked by him. He is next in line to become the Ash and god I hope that happens because he is one of the more friendly Fae I have met.
Dyson was looking at me with an unreadable expression on his face as I walked by. Tamsin put a hand on my back and led me out the door and glared at Dyson.
The next day I was sitting at my desk looking into a microscope at blood samples I had from some under Fae that the Ash wanted to know more about. I heard someone approaching and looked up to see Dyson and Tamsin walking in. I knew that they were partners for the police force. Tamsin constantly complained about him because he wouldn't let her work the way she wanted. Dyson was walking towards me.
"Dr. Lewis, I was wondering if I could have a word," he said stiffly. I knew Dyson wasn't my biggest fan ever as he seems to think that the Ash was too lenient with me. Tamsin growled at the way Dyson asked to have a word. He knew I couldn't say no to him where he was a high-ranking member of the Light fae. "What are your intentions with Bo? She's a Succubus and you are human," he told me condescendingly.
Tamsin snarled and pushed him to the ground. "Lauren is better than the Succuslut ever will be," Tamsin roared, and I grabbed one of her arms and turned her around. Her eyes were glowing yellow, and she looked angry. "Stay away from Bo," Dyson told me.
"I can speak for myself."
Bo stood there with her arms folded glaring at Dyson.
"Bo," I said her name and I swore I saw her eyes light up when she heard me say her name. "Don't come in here talking down to Dr. Lewis like that, she's a better person than you," Bo told Dyson coldly. He looked like a kicked puppy when she said that to him. Tamsin's eyes were still glowing as she stared at Dyson. "Bo, please can we talk? I wanted to talk to you last night." Dyson pleaded with Bo who shook her head. "I came here for Dr. Lewis we have some things to talk about," Bo told him firmly.
She walked around him and came over to where Tamsin and I stood. I saw her looking me up and down and she smiled. "You look good in a lab coat, like it was meant for you," Bo told me, and I felt myself blush. "Let's go dumbass," Tamsin spat as she dragged Dyson to his feet. I watched as they walked away and turned to look at Bo. "What can I do for you Bo?" I asked her curiously. I really hadn't expected to see her so soon.
