Country Star and the Businessman
Chapter 3: I record my next hit
It's been a week since I last saw Herbert, but now I hear a knock at my front door. I go to it, open it and see him standing there, he says, "I got you a place to record a hit track." I'm surprised, but happy as well.
I smile and thank him, he then tells me that he'll drive me there. He walks me to his car, and he opens the passenger's door. I get in and put on my seatbelt, he goes to close the door, but he stops halfway, and says kindly, "You look beautiful." I smile, he must have noticed that I was wearing my new purple t-shirt, light blue jeans, and black boots, as well as the fact that I decided to leave my hair down.
I thank him by complimenting his look, and he is a red long-sleeved shirt, covered by a black coat, black pants, and white tennis shoes. He blushes a little, I giggle, he looks so cute.
He shuts the door, and he soon gets in from the driver's side. He puts his seatbelt on, then he grabs the wheel. I look to see that his blush has deepened. He begins driving us North, he then looks my way, "You'll like the place I found."
I smile and tell him that Homer brought me to a studio before, I ask if he thinks it's the same one. He tells me that he could only find one in this town.
I then put a hand on his shoulder, I told him how grateful I am to have a new manager, "I'm so thankful for our meeting. I'm also grateful that you wanted to be my new manager. I've got another handsome manager."
I see him smile, but he is still blushing. He tells me that he feels the same about us meeting. I take my hand away, and look in my mirror, seeing if my hair needs to be put up.
Herbert notices and says confidently, "You look great, especially your hairdo."
Pretty soon we're at the studio, he asks me if it looks familiar, and I nod. We pull our seatbelts off and then exit the car, I begin walking, when he comes over, he asks, "You got talent, right? I'm not making a massive mistake, right?"
I take him by the hand, telling him that I was a star. He smiles, we continue walking and I'm still holding his hand.
Soon we enter the studio and the owner walks up to us, he says to me, "Lurleen Lumpkin, what a surprise to see you again. Who is this, your boyfriend?" Herbert and I blush, Herbert pulls his hand away and chuckles, and stutters this out, "No, I'm her new manager."
I nod, and tell the man, "I'm here to record my next hit song." The man smiles and tells us that the same band that helped her before is still here.
After a couple minutes I entered the booth with a guitar. I didn't expect Herbert to arrive at my place today, so I forgot my own guitar. I look out the window to see Herbert smiling. I began singing a song that came to me during the car ride.
"I was a-walking when I met a prince, he acted sweetly. This man was a brother to a man I knew.."
Herbert begins to realize that the song was about him, so he blushes.
