I can't believe I'm moving, again. This is the second time in the last two years I've moved for my dad's work. My dad is a doctor, and a quite successful one, he gets job offers from all around the country and he's just accepted one in Mystic Falls, Virginia.
The timing could not be worse. I was really enjoying my Senior year in LA and suddenly my dad announces the news and he accepts me to be happy about this, how am I going to keep up with my studies if I keep moving. If I had a choice I wouldn't move but my farther ended the argument real quick. So, here we are, driving past the 'Welcome to Mystic Falls' sign and I glare as I look out the window. What type of name is that for a town anyway?
We pull into our street that has identical picket fences and two story houses going all the way down the street. What is this Wisteria Lane? As you can tell I'm in a mood, my dad has just made me move yet again and I'm moving to a small town where everyone knows everyone.
We pull into a driveway that's has a big two story house. My dad cuts off the engine and I slowly get out of the car and take in the facade of the house.
So this is my new home? It's bigger than the last one, and I guess that's a good thing, with my dad working late hours, I'll have the house to myself. I might as well make the most of it.
I enter the house and make my way up the stairs. I find the Master Suite, which my dad graciously gave up to help with making the move easier for me. I enter and inside I find a king sized bed, a walk in closet and my own en-suite. Maybe it won't be so bad after all, but I won't tell my dad that.
A couple hours later my room is starting to come together. I make my way down the stairs where I see my dad picking up his suitcase. "Liss." He calls out.
I approach him. "Yes."
"I have to work tonight, but I put a credit card on the table for you to get some food."
"How am I supposed to get around?"
"Come outside with me." He grins and I follow him out.
I step outside onto the front porch and next to my dads SUV is a small white Audi. "Dad." I gasp. "What is this?"
His grin hasn't left his face. "It's yours." He replies and throwing the keys at me.
I catch them and I am in shock. "Omg, dad no way." I squeal and walk over to him hugging him tightly. "Thank you."
"Your welcome." He smiles hugging me tighter. "I know you didn't want to move here, and I appreciate you for being so understanding, and being the best daughter."
I smile and hug him again. "Thank you dad."
"But give this place a chance, you never know what will happen."
"I'll try."
"Are you alright for finding your way around town?"
"It's not a big town I'm sure I'll manage."
"You know I love you right?"
"I know."
"Everything I do is for you, remember that."
After my dad has left, I do a little more unpacking and decorating and head out to find some food.
I arrive at a place called The Mystic Grill. God, how original, they could have at least tried a different name. I really hope my dad is right and this is worth it.
I get out of my new car locking it as I walk to the entrance. I open the door to the grill and step inside. People's heads turn in my direction as I make my way down a couple steps and eye the bar.
I walk towards the bar and take a seat and check out the establishment. There is a restaurant with booths and multiple table set ups. The main bar is in the centre and to the right is an area for billiards.
A bartender comes over with a huge grin on his face. Here come the arrogant jerks. "What can I get you beautiful?" he asks.
"Do you order food from up here?" I ask.
He nods. "Yes."
"I'll get fries and a coke please."
"Anything else?"
"Not tonight."
A short while later I look over to my right and see a pair of blue eyes looking in my direction. I turn to face the mystery person and find a guy dressed in all black. I automatically know that he is bad news.
I turn back to face him and notice he's making his way over towards me. "Hi." He greets with a smirk.
I turn in my bar stool to face him and roll my eyes as he continues to smirk. "Hi"
"I've never seen you around here, did you just move here?" he asks flirtatiously.
"What gave me away?"
"It's a small town and everyone know everyone."
"Well, if you excuse me I have to go."
"Leaving without giving me your name?
"That's because I didn't give it."
I go to walk away but grabs me by the wrist roughly and looks into my eyes intently. "What are you doing in Mystic Falls?" he asks almost like he's compelling me.
I don't know what on earth he's doing but I remove myself from his grip, and I'm angry. "What the hell are you doing?" I shout making a scene. His eyes go wide in shock. "Don't ever grab me like that you freak." I say just as loud. "I don't know what gave you the right to approach me, but stay away from me." I order and storm out of the grill.
Arriving home after my rude run in with the stranger, I shower and get my things ready for school tomorrow. Tomorrow I start my Senior year at Mystic Falls High. Watch out Timberwolves a new queen has arrived.
