Enjoy chapter 2!

Today is my first day at Mystic Falls High. I'm extremely nervous as I'll be the new girl yet again and the people here have known each other their entire lives.

I get up and start getting ready. I brush out my curls that I did the night before and work on my make up, I've just done my lashes and a subtle pink lip. My outfit is a white bodysuit tucked into black shorts with a Gucci belt. I finish off the look with black ankle boots and a long dangling necklace.

I make my way down stairs to find my dad making coffee. "Good morning." He greets offering me a cup.

"Hi."

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous."

"Don't be, you are going to kill it today, just like always."

"Like I had a choice."

"I know you are still not happy with me about this, but I promise you, coming here won't be so bad."

"I know, I'm just nervous about my day."

"I know, but as always, you will find your way and run this town."

I smile. "Alright, I better head off."

"I'll be home late, so feel free to order take out for dinner tonight."

I arrive at Mystic Falls High and make my way across the lawn, already feeling people staring at me. I eventually get inside the school and find my way to the office where I get my class schedule.

I drop my bag off at my locker, ignoring the jealous stares from the girls and I pull out some books and my phone and make my way to the bathroom. As I step inside I find a tall good looking girl fixing herself up in the mirror. "Oh sorry." I say and she turns to face me. "You're fine, I was just fixing myself up."

"Likewise." I smile and take a spot next to her, fishing out my compact.

"First day?"

"Why am I not surprised that you would know."

"If it helps, I only started here a few weeks ago."

"Really?"

"Yes, I moved into town with my family. I'm Rebekah."

"Alyssa."

"What made you move to a town like this?"

"My dad, he's an incredible doctor, who has worked all over the country, and they offered him and incredible deal to work here."

"I take it you aren't happy it?"

"I've never lived in a place long enough to make any real connections."

"That must have been tough, is it just you and you're dad."

"Yes, my mum died when I was 7."

"I'm sorry to hear that, but you and your dad must be close."

"Thick as thieves."

"But he still moves you from place to place."

"Not for much longer, once I finish high school I'm out of here."

"What do you want to do?"

"Travel the world."

"Any career aspirations."

"Journalism."

"What's your class schedule?"

I show her my schedule and she smiles. "It looks like we have majority of the same classes."

"I'm glad, I need someone to sit with at lunch."

"Come along. I'll show you around."

Following Rebekah around was easy. I found that we have similar personalities, we are bold, we know what we want and we love attention. Throughout the day Rebekah has been showing me around the school, and I've noticed people glaring at the both of us. "What's with the duo glaring daggers into my back?" I ask as we sit in the cafeteria for lunch.

"That is the Scooby gang, who have been a pain in my side for to long."

"They think that the world revolves around them?"

"In particular the brunette."

"I can already tell I don't like her."

Rebekah grins. "Than you are a great judge of character."

"I am, almost inhuman."

"Go shopping with me after school?"

"In this town?"

"No there is a great mall not far out of town."

"I do need to fill up my new wardrobe." I grin. "Let's do it."

The school day comes to an end and Rebekah picks me up from my place. "Nice place." She expresses.

"My dad always wants the best wherever we go."

"You actually aren't far from me."

"Where are you?"

"Just on the outskirts of town, my brother built a mansion for my family."

"How many siblings do you have?"

"Four."

"All older?"

"Second youngest but I'm the only girl."

I grimace. "You must have had trouble in the guys department then, with a house full of males."

"Oh you have no idea."

"Well I'm here now and I have your back."

"Same goes to you too, I feel like this is the start of a fun friendship."

Several hours later after going through every clothing store in the mall Rebekah invites me over for dinner at hers. "You're brothers won't mind?" I ask.

"They'll just be glad I have a new friend."

"I'll just call my dad to let him know." I tell her and I take a few steps away. I quickly call my dad and tell him that I'll be home later than expected and his only request was for me to message him when I get home.

I walk rejoin Rebekah and she is on the phone. "Yes Elijah, have the table set, my new friend is coming over, and please have a word with Kol and Klaus." She pleads and hangs up.

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I was just informing my brother that you are having dinner with us."

"So you said you had four siblings?"

"I had five," she says sadly.

"Had?"

"Our youngest brother Henrik, he died years ago, but to this day I still miss him."

"I'm sorry." I say. "What about your other brothers? Anyone I should look out for."

I notice her fidget slightly "I'm not going to sugar coat anything, my family is powerful, and with that comes, arrogance, the only one you should really look out for is Nik."

"Is he dangerous?" I ask curiously. She sends me a nervous look which I catch. "So just don't do anything to piss him off and I should be okay." She nods. "You know this is just making me even more curious about your family."

"My family is very complicated but when we are together and united we are unstoppable."

"What about your other brothers?"

"Kol will just want to flirt with you." She laughs. "But he is just as dangerous as Klaus, if not more unpredictable."

"You know this isn't scarring me away."

She looks at me confused. "Usually people are halfway out the car."

"I'm no ordinary person Rebekah, I make my own choices, I choose who I hang out with, may that be, they are dangerous or not, that is what life is about, it's about adventure and living on the edge, and taking risks."

"You are definitely something else."

"Like I said, I'm no ordinary girl Rebekah, get used to that."

"I plan too."

"So you told me about Kol and Klaus, what about your other two?"

"Elijah is our security blanket, he pulls us up on our shit, but is always there for us. He is nobel and strong but if you cross him or my family, you would feel his wrath."

"Just like any older brother would do."

"And then there is Finn. My eldest brother, he isn't around much, we don't have the best relationship."

"Thank you for inviting me out today, it's made me feel not so angry about the move here."

"You're welcome."

We drive for a few more minutes and approach a huge gate that has a huge letter M in the middle. The gate is surrounding by huge hedges and trees. "Wait is this your place?" I ask curiously.

"One thing you should know about my family, we don't do anything half asked."

"Sounds like we are much alike." I chuckle as we drive through the gate and up a driveway. We go ground a bend and as I look ahead infront of me is a huge mansion. "Well now I'm curious." I grin as I take in the house. "What does your family do?"

"We invest in a lot of things, but that's mostly Elijah and Niklaus's forte."

"My interest has been even more peeked."

"Come on I'll show you around."

We enter the house and walk into a grand entrance showcasing a huge spiral staircase. "Wow." I say aloud.

She guides me further inside and points out all the different rooms. We walk into a lounge room and a good looking man in his late 20s is on the couch. "Elijah." Rebekah greets.

"I see you've brought a guest." He says noticing me.

"Like I told you on the phone, this is Alyssa, she'll be joining us for dinner."

I finally get a good look at him and damn he is good looking. Not necessarily my type, but very easy on the eyes. "Thank you for having me, your home is beautiful."

"Thank you, Rebekah tells me you've just moved into town?"

"Yes, with my dad, it's been a difficult adjustment, but I feel like my time here has started to become a little more interesting."

"When you hang around my family, interesting is an understatement."

"I'm going to continue to show Alyssa around, call us when dinner is ready." Rebekah requests.

"Sure will. Alyssa it was lovely meeting you, make yourself at home."

"In this place, I won't have a problem." I joke.

After seeing the rest of the place, Rebekah and I retreat to her room. "Where's your powder room." I ask suddenly.

"If you head down the hall, it's the third door on the left." She directs.

"I won't be long."

I quickly leave her room and make my way down the hall. I find the fourth door and open it. Inside is not the restroom I was hoping to find, it's an office. A dark one in fact. I peek inside and notice a huge book shelf filled with hundreds of books, as well as a seating area with a fire place and to the other side a couple art easels located by the window.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" A voice asks loudly from behind me.

I jump startled turning around and I'm left speechless. Standing in front of me, is probably the most attractive man I've ever seen. I slowly move my gaze to meet his and I feel an electric bolt pass through me as our eyes meet.

I'm lost in his gaze amd it looks like he feels the same way. I shake off my thoughts trying to find words. "Shit, I'm so sorry." I say quickly. "I was looking for the restroom, but I guess I found your office by mistake."

I see his walls turning and he shakes off the feeling and smirks, ahh, there it is. "Sorry to spook you Love, I don't usually have beautiful ladies trying to see inside my office love."

I roll my eyes at the nickname and turn to face him, showing off my confidence. "I'm Alyssa, Rebekah invited me over for dinner."

"So you're Rebekah's new friend?"

"Yes." I confirm. "She showed me around and asked me over for dinner, it would be rather rude to decline such an offer."

He grins. "It would have." He agrees not moving his eyes from me, and I too can't seem to look away. "Did you like what your saw in there?"

"In your office?" He nods. "I only got a quick glance, but it's rather dark."

He laughs. "Just how I like it."

"A little light wouldn't hurt." I chime in.

He smiles. "I guess it wouldn't."

"I'm sorry I didn't catch your name."

He grins. "I'm Niklaus, but you can call me Klaus."
