Wish Upon A Shooting Star-Ch 1
A very tired Penelope Garcia blew out a deep breath as she walked through the front door of her apartment, she had just pulled a double shift at her job as a waitress at Joe's a nearby diner and couldn't wait to get home and get her shoes off. As she wiggled her toes she said, "alright girlie let's grab a bubble bath and then head to bed, you have a few days off and you are going to get some rest", she sighed happily as she walked through her apartment and headed straight for her bathroom.
Penelope closed her eyes as she laid her head against the tub, it had been a long week and with her birthday coming up she wanted to just rest, relax and enjoy her birthday for the first time in years. She had asked specifically for this time off so that she could enjoy her birthday without having to worry about work the next morning and she was extremely happy when her boss had told her that her time off was granted.
A few minutes later she walked out of the bathroom and headed to her bedroom, she was more than ready to turn in but as she got ready to lay down the moonlight peeked through her half open curtain. She walked over and started to close it but looked up and saw a shooting star. she quickly closed her eyes and said, "wish I may, wish I might, please grant this wish I wish tonight", she then said, "please send me the love of my life, a man that will love me for me", she intertwined her fingers and said, "pleaseeeeee".
When she opened her eyes she smiled and said, "I guess only time will tell if my wish has been granted", she tiredly laughed and then turned around and walked across the room and pulled back the covers on her bed. She laid down and sighed as she snuggled under the covers, she yawned and weakly grinned again as memories of her mother telling her stories about wishing on stars and how she hoped that this time her wish really came true.
Penelope felt her eyes closing she she yawned one final time before rolling over onto her side and closing her eyes, she was exhausted and it didn't take long before she fell into a deep, peaceful and resting sleep. She woke up the next morning to the sound of somebody knocking on her door, she opened her eyes and glanced at the clock and saw that it was only 7:30, she threw back the covers and put on her robe as she shuffled her feet across her bedroom floor.
As she walked through the beaded curtain that seperated her bedroom from her living room she heard the knock again, she said, "hang on I'm coming", she looked through the peep hole in her door and saw two men standing there that she didn't recognize. She said, "can I help you?", one voice said, "yes mam I'm Dr. Spencer Reid and this is Derek Morgan and we're with the FBI" as both men pulled their badges from their pockets and held them up so that she could see them.
She opened the door and stepped back and said, "yes, how can I help you?", Reid said, "we were wondering if you'd seen or heard anything last night?", Penelope said, "sorry, I worked a double shift at Joe's diner up the street and when I got home I took a quick bath and headed to bed". One of the agents, a Derek Morgan said, "what time did you get home mam?", Penelope said, "it's Penelope, Penelope Garcia and I got home around 2:00 this morning".
Derek said, "did you walk home from work Penelope?", the blonde shook her head and said, "no sir, I drove my car Ester", Reid said, "Ester?", Penelope said, "Ester is my baby, had her since I was 16 years old and lived in California". Derek couldn't help but smile at the beautiful blonde standing in front of him, she seemed different from any other woman that he'd ever met and even though he'd just met her he couldn't help but somehow feel drawn to her.
Reid glanced at his friend and saw that he was staring and smiling at Penelope, Reid said, "please be careful and be aware of your surroundings Ms. Garcia", as he pulled a card from his pocket and handed it to her. Penelope looked at the card and then up at the two men and said, "what exactly is going on agent", she looked down at the card an then back up at them and said, "Reid?", Reid then said, "several women have been kidnapped in the area so we're" and then Penelope glanced at Derek and didn't hear anything else that the younger agent had said.
Derek smiled at her and said, "here, I'll give you one of my cards too" as he pulled a card out of his pocket, he said, "if you see or hear anything that is suspicious please contact one of us Penelope". The blonde smiled and nodded her head and said, "okay, sure, sure", she then watched as the agents turned around and started walking up the hall that led toward the staircase but before they disappeared Derek stopped and turned around and looked at her and said, "please be careful when you're out alone, okay?", she said, "I will, thank you", Derek smiled and then turned around and headed toward the staircase to join Reid.
As she closed her door she smiled and bit down on her bottom lip and said, "calm down Garcie, calm down, sure he's the sexiest man you've ever seen but he's an FBI agent and he wouldn't want anything to do with you so get any thoughts of a night of mad passionate lovemaking with that chocolate Adonis out of your mind".
Well seeing that she was now wide awake she said, "might as well fix some breakfast" as she made her way toward her kitchen to do just that but as she worked on her breakfast she couldn't help but wonder if her wish last night would come true and if it did who would the love of her life be. A huge smile crossed her lips as Derek's face flashed before her eyes again, she said, "who knows maybe we'll meet again stud muffin", she sighed happily and then went back to fixing her breakfast as she anxiously waited to see what the rest of the day offered her.
