Title: The Not So Sweet Spot
Rating: M
Summary: Sometimes having Retro Metabolism sucks.
Notes: Ah yes, the reason why I put an M rating on these fic's, TORTURE, BLOOD AND A MERCY KILLING.
The not so Sweet Spot.
He really wished the people that put him here actually had the good sense to kill him, as at least then he would get the chance to actually heal.
One of the major downsides of retro metabolism was in some cases of major injury it was better to die, and let the body heal while the body was 'dead,' especially in cases where a normal human would have died, even with medical help, because pain killers were almost useless – even if they were available - and you were suffering the entre time you were healing.
But there was another downside to the retro metabolism when it came to fatal injuries – because of the healing factor trying to save his life it took him longer to actually die.
And sometimes the difference between dying and healing would find the sweet spot where nether the life or death camp made any real progress.
And the bastard's that put him this position had somehow managed to do just that.
Captain Mahogany was currently strung up by his wrists with a chain, his feet unable to touch the blood-soaked floor below him, he didn't know where Lieutenant Turquoise was but if he was put though the same treatment he just received, things were not looking good for his normal human partner.
Especially since one of the thugs that had captured them, was eyeing Turquoise like he was a prisoner that had just dropped the soap.
He was glad Lieutenant Coral wasn't with them, for there would have been no way Mahogany would have been able to distract the attention from her like he did for Turquoise in an attempt to buy both of them some time.
They really went to town on him too, he was pretty sure most of his ribs were busted, as was both arms, his ankles and feet… How he was still awake after all this he didn't know, especially after they decided to give him the death by thousand cuts.
There was enough blood on the floor and walls for a horror anime.
He hoped the twin bond he shared with Keys died when the Mysterons killed him, or she would not be having a fun time right now – she would probably be screaming down the island feeling his pain.
He hated the days when the human race justified the Mysteron's war on nerves.
He pitied the poor person that was going to find his sorry ass eventually, and wondered how Colonel Blue handled Scarlet's many demises.
That was when he heard the door open and heard the horrified gasp of Colonel Scarlet as he walked into the room.
"Turquoise?" he weakly asked the Colonel.
"We found him," Scarlet answered, as he checked over Mahogany's condition. "We got to him in time, Kallen."
"Thank god," Mahogany gasped. "Sorry to ask this, but can you do me a favour?"
Scarlet sighed sadly, as he slowly pulled his knife out of his belt, "Are you sure you want me to do this?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm sure," Mahogany hissed. "Do it."
"I'm sorry, Kallen," Scarlet replied, as he used his knife to stab Mahogany through the heart, putting him out of his misery.
Captain Mahogany woke up in Skybase's infirmary.
"Welcome back," Lieutenant Turquoise, who was sitting beside Mahogany's bed, with his arm in a sling, greeted.
Mahogany smiled, glad to see his friend and work partner safe.
Notes: Yeah, I think we have established that Kallen isn't that lucky, and that Kesha feels it every time he dies.
And yes, I other shoed Scarlet for this one.
