Author's Note: After thinking it over, I have to be brutally honest: the premise itself is kinda…lame. All these times Sumika tried to impress her crush and Ushio never, ever is even aware of her feelings is not a very good combination. Not at all.

So, um…I'm gonna go ahead and change things around. Ushio being attracted to girls equally, including big and strong girls like Sumika. And BOTH of them will fall head over heels for one another.

Sumika Murasume. A tall, strong and smart girl with long black hair, lovely grayish brown eyes and wears glasses. She is on the karate team at home, and trains hard every day. At school, she's so athletic and smart that everyone admires her. She's a very nice girl at heart overall. However…when it comes to love…she has none of that. She may be admired by all, but she has no experience in love. Mostly from the fact that she is tall, violent and nerdy. Who would ever go out with someone like her? Back in the day, all the cute girls are chosen to be with either guys or other females alike. Anybody would choose ones who are good looking. It's all about appearances, not what's on the inside. Sumika always feels so insecure about herself since then. Until she met a cute girl named Kiyori Torioi, who loves eating curry bread every day. She was the one who understood Sumika and they became best friends ever since.

By the time high school started, Sumika had to leave her middle school female friends, who also admired the tall girl based on appearance and strength. Honestly, how can she be as girly as them? Even if she tried, she will never succeed. Kiyori thought the same way when Sumika asked her for some advice. Both of them know that acting cute and girly is impossible for a girl like Sumika. They decided to drop it a while later and have Sumika just be herself no matter what. Kiyori assured Sumika that someone would accept her for who she is, just like how she accepted the taller girl. Sumika wanted to keep that in mind for as long as it takes. She will be sure that any one would accept her if she's patient enough.

One day, during lunch, Sumika looks around to see the girls and guys doing their thing: eating lunch together, talking amongst themselves and having a great time. She smiles a small smile as she unwraps her bento. Kiyori takes a bite of her curry bread, curious to know what her best friend is thinking right now.

"Looking at the people, huh?" Kiyori asks.

"I'm just…wondering what type of girl I would like," Sumika says.

"Wait a minute, girls?" Kiyori chuckles. "You're not going out with a boy?"

"I've hung out with female friends a lot," Sumika says as she sips on her drink. "It just kind of stuck, I suppose."

"Based on how you look, I would see you going out with a hunky guy who is also handsome," Kiyori points out. "You two would be a perfect fit."

"Please, a nerdy girl and a guy who has been to the gym for at least twice a day?" Sumika playfully rolls her eyes. "That's not a neat combination…to me at least."

"You fought tough guys like that back in karate tournaments, right?" Kiyori says.

"That's different," Sumika states. "I would rather hang out with someone my own size or at least a bit shorter than me who would still accept me. I haven't found anyone who would do that."

She looks around some more, to find who she might want to talk to. Be friends with them. And even…fall in love, if that's possible. She eats and looks around until one girl catches her eye. She sees a beautiful and cute girl with long light brown hair that reaches over her shoulders with light brown eyes. She looks like a dream to Sumika.

"Wow…" the taller girl swoons as she stares at the cute girl from straight ahead. "Who is…that?"

Kiyori looks over at the girl her best friend is looking at. "Oh! That is Ushio Kazama! She has a thing for girls!"

"Whoa…Kazama…" Sumika breathes. "She's into…girls like me…?"

"Who knows what type of girl, though?" Kiyori smiles nervously. "With her, I heard she's into very cute girls."

"ACK!" Sumika almost falls over her chair, but quickly gets back up. "C-c-cute…girls?"

"Oops! So sorry I said that!" Kiyori puts up her hands in defense. "I mean…just go find out for yourself when you get the chance!"

"Haaaah…sure, that's fine," Sumika sighs as she stares at Ushio. "As long as I get to talk to Kazama, I'm sure she will be very happy to be friends with me."

Kazama…she's so beautiful… Sumika thinks. I think I'm…in love with her…

Even if Ushio is into cute girls, that doesn't stop the taller girl from falling for her. She HAS to be the one. There is no other girl as cute as Ushio.

**Later**

Sumika and Kiyori start to head toward the train station and head home. Since both of them go the same way, Kiyori and Sumika take the train together. However, when they get to the station, they notice that Ushio takes the same station as them. It surprises Sumika to see that her crush takes the same station. However…something is up. Ushio is next to some creep who is behind her. He is doing something suspicious. It may not seem like it, but from what she is seeing, it does not look good.

Kiyori seems to notice it, too. "This guy is bad news. Look at him. He's so careless about his surroundings."

"I'll make him pay…!" Tossing her school bag, she rushes toward the man and grabs his wrist before he can grope Ushio's butt. "You know where your hand should be!? Up your fucking ass!"

"EEEK!" Ushio gasps and turns to see her savior.

The man glares at Sumika. "What the fuck did you say!?" He tries to swing at her, but she blocks it and grabs his arm.

She throws him over head and slams him on the ground, knocking the wind out of him. He then lies there, trying to get his breath back, and Sumika huffs. Ushio is shocked to see this happen right before her eyes. Sumika, her classmate, just saved her from a molester. And…it was so incredible. She hasn't seen such a girl as tall and strong as Sumika. Kiyori is also surprised by this. Sumika grabs the molester's wrist to drag him toward the police station, followed by Ushio and Kiyori.

Though, things weren't going well as Sumika tried to explain the situation. The molester scoffs.

"She's falsely accusing me officer," he says. "I was minding my own business and then THIS high school girl grabbed my hand out of nowhere and hit me! She should be arrested for assaulting me!"

Ushio takes a step forward. "He touched me!"

"WHAT!?" the molester says.

"He touched me! And my classmate saved me!" Ushio says.

The molester grins, showing his true colors. "Ohhhh, how cute hearing that from you. You sure are so innocent and cute, wearing a skirt so short. You also have an incredible bust. How many guys ogle those, hmmm~? I would be dying to touch those myself and have all the fun. Hahahaha-"

BAM!

Sumika performs a devastating roundhouse, hitting his face so hard that his cheek caves in and then he is thrown into the wall and then falls face down on the floor, unconscious. Ushio cups both hands to her mouth at the devastating attack Sumika delivered and Kiyori is just as surprised as Ushio was.

**Later**

After coming home, Sumika sighs and puts her bag aside. She plops down on the bed and puts her forehand on her forehead. What an afternoon that was. She encountered a molester and then saved Ushio from him. She doesn't know how to act when she comes to school tomorrow. She knows that Ushio would be grateful for saving her, so…does that mean she has a chance to ask her to be her friend? Most likely. She is both nervous and excited.

**Next Day**

"Thanks so much for saving me yesterday!" Ushio exclaims as soon as Sumika and Kiyori approach the classroom.

"Oh…n-no problem," Sumika blushes at how close Ushio is. "Anybody would've done it if they were in danger of molesters."

"Ohhhh, you were so cool~!" Ushio cups her blushing cheeks and sways back and forth. "You threw down that molester like he was a rag doll! And then you were like, 'Hyah!' and 'Wa-tah!' at him when he tried to insult me!" She does some soft karate chops in the air to miserably imitate Sumika's movements.

"Ah…th-thanks," Sumika says, blushing even redder than before.

"Ehehe~!" Kiyori laughs. "Sumi-chan is indeed really strong. She's in the karate team after all~"

"Ah, yes! You're Sumika Murasume, right?" Ushio says. "Well, then please. Will you allow me to call you Sumi-chan as well~?"

"I-if that is what you wish," Sumika swallows hard. "If you will allow me to call you Kazama."

"I don't mind~" Ushio smiles sweetly.

"Goodie~" Kiyori says. "We should eat lunch together today since we are all friends now~!"

"Great idea!" Ushio says. "I have a present as a thank you for saving me yesterday! Just you wait~!"

Oh, my God! Sumika thinks. Can Kazama get ANY cuter!? It's like I'm in heaven right now! She gets to eat lunch with us now!

Sumika has never felt this way in her life. But she's happy. She's truly happy she has met Ushio and talked to her the next day.

**Lunch Time**

"What the!? Cheesecake!?" Sumika cannot believe her eyes as she sees a lovely baked cheesecake in the middle of their lunch table presented by Ushio herself. "Did you make this yourself!?"

"Absolutely~" Ushio replies, clasping her hands together. "I'm actually a really good baker. Pies, cakes, everything that is dessert~!"

Sumika takes a bite of the cheesecake she just cut up and once again, she felt like she went to heaven and back.

"Oh, my God! It's so good!" Sumika exclaims as she takes another bite and then another before serving herself a second piece. "Wow, Kazama! You make cake so well, it's unbelievable!"

Ushio giggles. "I'm very glad you like it."

"Yeah, it's so good~" Kiyori agrees as she has a piece of her own. "You aren't kidding~"

Ushio nods and turns to Sumika, who is enjoying the cheesecake. She blushes at the way she is enjoying it. She worked so hard to make this dessert and she got praised wonderfully for her efforts. In no time at all, Sumika finishes up the cake and puts her fork down.

"Mmmm~!" the dark haired girl hums happily. "That was the best cake I've ever had~!"

"I can make other desserts, if you'd like~" Ushio offers. "I can make all kinds, like I said~"

"Oh, that would be BRILLIANT!" Sumika says excitedly. "I look forward to whatever you bake next~!"

"Ehehe! I'm so glad you're so enthusiastic~!" Ushio giggles.

Sumika is even more happy than earlier. She hopes to see the brunette again to not only talk to her, but try out her new desserts she will bake.
