The full moon hung high in the sky as Goku gave a deep sigh. It'd been decades since his fight in the tournament of power. He was much older now, and unlike his rival Vegeta he'd declined the gift of immortality from the true god Omni-King. His choice brought about great pain in the friend he once spent days if not weeks training with. Where as Vegeta had ascended to the level of a God of Destruction. Goku hadn't although maintaining the same power as Vegeta even with his deteriorated body.
'Man was I lucky' Goku thought to himself slightly shifting upon the grass as he stared at the star filled sky. 'I met so many strong people. My life was great' Goku thought again as he knew his time was coming to an end. A soft smiled filled the Heroes lips as he began to feel his eyes get heavy. Suddenly a presence made itself known.
The presence Goku knew all too well. It was one of his oldest friends none other than Vegeta. "K-Kakarot" Vegeta said his face filled with emotions. His fist clenched as he watched his oldest rival drifting away. "I came... It was only right. Even on Namek you didn't let me die alone. Even when I tried to destroy the Earth." Vegeta said. He'd been bottling up that sentence for so long, but he knew if he didn't say it he'd never be able to face his rival in otherworld.
"Hey Buddy" Goku said weakly giving Vegeta a soft smile. "Namek? That was so long ago" Goku said with a painful laugh that sounded more like a gasp for breath. Vegeta's teeth gritted as he watched his friend slowly drift away. "Why didn't you... Why didn't you accept immortality Kakarot" Vegeta questioned with a shaking tone. His feelings were in a spiral as he felt Kakarots ki slowly fading.
"I dunno" Goku began with a smile. "I just thought... My adventure had come to an end. I've beaten Berus. I stopped Frieza from destroying the universe, and I even beat all the angels. Wouldn't you say this is a fitting end ol' buddy?" Goku said softly.
Vegeta chocked back a sob as Kakarot spoke. He was there with him when he'd done it. Even the Omni-King was stunned when he'd defeated the grand priest, but Vegeta knew. He knew Kakarot would do it. A single tear fell down the Prince of all Saiyan's cheek. "I-If you could start a new adventure Goku... Would you?" Vegeta asked with a soft tone.
"YEAH TOTALLY!" Goku said before clenching his hand against his chest. "B-But not here" Goku said with a saddened tone. "Everyone is gone now... Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chichi" Goku said softly. As Chi-Chi's name left his lips his tears began to fall. "I wouldn't be able to handle doing it all over again without them..." Goku said with a softer tone.
"Then fine Kakarot." Vegeta said looking towards the sky. "I'll make sure your next adventure is different. I'll make sure that you get an adventure unlike any other even if it means I have to fight the Omni-" Vegeta stopped as a powerful presence appeared.
None other than the Omni-King and the High priest appeared. Behind him stood all of those who Goku listened off and more. "I accept" The Omni-King said in his typical childish tone. "I'll send you away Goku. To a place unlike this one. A place where you can be a hero again" The Omni-King said as the group behind him pushed past.
Chi-Chi's hands held Gokus softly. "Goku... I love you" She said softly. "That's why I wont stop you, but always remember" She said panning back towards all the fighters who were there with smiles on their faces. Even Frieza had a smile plastered on his face. "For a stupid Monkey... You weren't that bad" The Arcosian said looking away as his teeth clenched.
"My only regret is not killing you myself" Frieza said with a muffled voice. Only his closest guards noticed the tears trickling down his face. Goku meant more to Frieza than just an obstacle to overcome. He'd shown Frieza training was delightful. He had shown even the mortals could oppose the gods. He was a light that Frieza chased after, and now to see that light fading due to the life span of Saiyans he'd grown scornful of mortality. "After this... I'll conquer Universe 6 and I'll train my own Saiyans in hope of finding you there..." Frieza said with a hint of fluster in his voice.
"No" The Omni-King said simply. "The place I'm sending Goku is ruled by other gods. It's not a place connected to us no physical being can travel there. Only the soul. I've already send them a warning he'd be coming. I hope they receive the information in time" The Omni-King said snapping his fingers as a magical picture appeared above Goku.
He could see a large tower surrounded by numerous buildings. People dressed in armor and other rags were all smiling and trading happily.
"This is Orario. It's a place where gods gather and aspiring adventures come to challenge a thing known as the dungeon. There was some infighting. That's why they accepted the transfer of souls from one gods rule to another. I hope that you'll find a family in this new world Goku" The Omniking said with tears now flowing from his face.
Goku had meant a lot to the Omni-King. He was the first mortal to spark a passion for fighting in the Omni-King. He was the least greedy mortal he'd ever met. All the Saiyan wanted was a good fight, food, and rest. "Goku. I'll free you from the pain now." The Omni-King said softly as Goku spoke once more.
"I love you guys. I'll see you again eventually I promise" Goku said softly as the Omni-King slowly pulled the soul from his body. Lifting it high into the air as Goku's tail shown to be connected with his body once again. "You'll still be a Saiyan, but your ki will be weakened back down to when you were Seventeen Goku. So be safe" The Omni-King said as Goku was sent into the portal.
As Goku's lifeless body laid there Vegeta was the first to blow apart the ground and lay his rival to rest. "You've done it for me... This is the least I can do for you my friend" Vegeta said softly as he pushed the soil over the body of the strongest warrior that ever lived.
