Chapter 3 - Training and Exam

After getting home from his admittedly awkward conversation with the green haired kid he started his daily training routine before he had to go to work. He had 10 months until the U.A entrance exam and he had to train harder than ever since he wanted to ensure that he got into the hero course. In these 10 months I want to work on my base physical strength and speed since my technique is better than most adult martial artists but my actual strength leaves much to be desired. I looked at cheap gyms that I could go to since I'm not exactly what you would call rich. After a while of looking I finally found one that seemed good enough. Pro heroes nowadays mostly use their quirks in fights so their hand to hand combat isn't the best, mostly underground heroes use martial arts so that's what villains expect in a fight with a pro hero so me using martial arts might give me even more of an advantage than I thought.

School is more interesting now since people know that I want to go to U.A and be a hero. Sometimes they ask me about my quirk and what I'm doing to prepare. But the good news is that I haven't had anyone try and bully me or force me to use my quirk to prove that I have one. I still don't have any friends since I've been quiet unless I had to speak up but honestly that's fine for me as I want to start making friends after I get into U.A or if I had to Shiketsu since it guarantees that I'll be a hero in training and not miss out on my dream. Back to the training though I started to learn boxing as beforehand I've focused on Karate and BJJ stuff like that but now that I've learned the hardest stuff time for something easier but just as useful.

*Timeskip 10 Months*

I should not have called boxing easier as it was just as hard as the others. But besides that I've just been focusing on my physical strength and speed like I said earlier while refining my 2 special techniques which while painful are still incredibly useful. Tomorrow is finally the U.A entrance exam and not gonna lie I'm kinda nervous as it decides my future however I'm also confident in my abilities that I have so far but I'm gonna go to sleep now. After waking up at five in the morning I get ready with my normal clothes along with workout stuff for the physical portion of the exam. As I got there I saw the green haired kid and was about to say hello but then he tripped and some girl caught him with her quirk and then she started talking to him with him seemingly too nervous to say anything back. After she left I then walked up to him to introduce myself since I couldn't 10 months ago "Hey there again not surprised to see you here" I said similar to when we first met. He once again jumped like before before turning around and seemingly recognizing me "Oh hey it's you again from the sludge villain incident I didn't know you wanted to be a hero too!" he said both nervously and excitedly. "Yeah wanted to since I was little" I replied with a small smile "Same here honestly" this statement made me curious as I asked "Well then why didn't you train before the incident as I can tell you've put on a lot of muscle recently" this caused a sheepish look on his face as he replied "I didn't really believe in myself yet but your statement along with my mentors made me finally realize how much work I need to put into being a hero instead of just wanting and wishing to be one." "Happy to help with your self confidence issues even if only a little bit but we should probably go inside." This caused the green haired boy to panic and rush inside along with me right behind him.

After the mental portion of the test, which I was feeling confident enough about Present Mic then debriefed us about the physical portion which had us destroying robots ranging from 1-3 points with a zero pointer as an obstacle. After changing into some workout clothes we were standing outside of the test zone waiting for the start of the test when all of a sudden Present Mic said "GO THERE'S NO WAITING IN A REAL FIGHT!" which caused me to start running immediately into the zone as I saw a few 1 pointers that I started to fight. I let out a shout of exhilaration after destroying the 1 pointers with little difficulty and ran off to find more robots to destroy. The judges and teachers of U.A were in a room spectating all of the tests with more than a few students standing out to them. "This year's group is much better than last year for sure" said a random pro with the others agreeing with him as multiple students were on screen such as Gou himself and Katsuki Bakugou the current number 1. We then see Gou finish off a 3 pointer with his point total going to 60 villain points and 10 rescue points which impresses the heroes as most people powerful enough to get that many points are arrogant and only think for themselves such as Bakugou. Nezu, the foul thing he is, decides now would be a great time to send out the zero pointer since the test is almost over. (Gou POV) I was taking a breather after taking a out a ton of robots enough to the point that I feel that I passed when I saw that everyone else was running away from certain side I turned around to see this 30 story tall robot and a little green thing in the sky before a large shockwave came and destroyed the head of the zero pointer and making it fall over backwards. Then Present Mic came on the speakers and said "THE TEST IS NOW OVER PLEASE GO SEE RECOVERY GIRL IF YOUR INJURED IF NOT THEN FEEL FREE TO GO HOME!" I then turned around and went home.

I've been waiting for about a week now for my letter and I'm starting to get nervous when there was a knock at my door "letter for Mr Gushiken?" "Coming!" I sprinted to the door and snatched the letter with a quick "thanks!" and ran back to my living room and opened the letter in which a disc-like object fell out and projected a screen with principle Nezu showing up and saying" Hello there im Nezu what am I? A dog? A mouse? I'm the principal of U.A and here to talk about your scores in the entrance exam!" this made me almost face fault like an anime character "Gou Gushiken you scored an 85 on the paper exam and 60 villain points on the physical exam which means congratulations you've been accepted into U.A or as I like to call it Your Hero Academia!"
