Link woke up in a strange world, with strange gravity, surrounded by fairly normal people. He was sitting on a bed in a room not unlike a healer's. The light in the room seemed to come from a large bowl filled with glowing spheres. A woman with bright red hair was sitting on a chair nearby, almost leaning over his bed.

"Good, you're awake," she said with overflowing exuberance,"We were all kind of nervous about trying to heal someone who doesn't look to be from around here, in case their physiology was different. I'm Shallan, what's your name?"

Link started to sit up. "Where am I? This doesn't look familiar…"

"You're in Urithiru, a giant ancient tower. The planet is Roshar. Also, you can understand me? I wonder how that works…" Shallan started taking notes in a way that reminded Link of someone, only he couldn't quite remember who.

"I don't know. That planet doesn't sound familiar. I'm from Hyrule."

"You are an offworlder! I would tell Jasnah but she's busy. Guess you're stuck with me."

A tall man walked in and said,"He's awake! Shallan, have you been taking notes?" Shallan slipped the pen back into her left handed sleeve, which was longer than the right. "Leave him alone, he just woke up. Oh, the name's Adolin by the way."

He held out his hand, but Link was still in the process of pulling himself up. After a few seconds, Adolin let his hand fall awkwardly.

Link looked down at himself to find that he was wearing pants and a shirt that looked unfamiliar but felt normal. A man, wearing white, walked in.

He said to Link,"Ah, I see that you're awake." Then he turned to Shallan and Adolin. "Both of you, leave him alone. I'm going to check him over and that doesn't require your help. He's probably overwhelmed right now. Don't you have some strange crisis to deal with? Or better yet, organize the team to find my son you promised."

Shallan and Adolin walked out reluctantly. The man turned his attention back to Link.

"My name is Lirin. What is yours?"

"Link."

"Now, how are you feeling?"

"Overwhelmed. How did I get here?"

"Nobody knows for sure, but it's been speculated that your appearance has something to do with my son, Kaladin's, disappearance."

Link didn't know who Lirin's son was, or what Link could have done to him. He didn't want to start off in a new world accused of something he had no control over.

Lirin frowned at his frightened face. "I don't think it's your fault, so don't worry. It's only strange. Anyway, you look exhausted, and I'm sure you need more sleep."

"That sounds wonderful." Link responded.

Lirin and Link went to find an available room in what Lirin called Hearthstone's area of the floor. Link had no idea what that was, but all the people he passed looked pleasant, like Kakriko village. Whatever that meant. Maybe it was some place from his past? Link didn't care. As soon as Lirin and Link worked out accommodations, Link was asleep in bed.
