Kaladin and Sidon ascend the peak, and Sidon said that he would head back to the Domain. Kaladin needed to collect about twenty arrows from the beast.

Slowly, Kaladin crept up to a nearby rock to hide.

"Syl, do you mind-"

"I'll go scout."

Syl flew off, and shortly came back with a nervous look on her face.

"I think you're just going to have to see it to understand. I don't think its eyesight is very good, but be careful."

Kaladin quickly peeked out from the rock to the sight of a ramaging man-horse. Muzu had not explained nearly enough. The lynel, as the Zora called the beast, let loose a few dozen arrows into the sky.

"You weren't kidding, Syl. What the storms is that thing?"

Kaladin observed the lynel for a few minutes, then made his move. He charged the beast, flung himself onto its back, and lashed himself there while trying to pull out shock arrows from its quiver.

Kaladin was eventually thrown off the beast, after the lashing had worn off. He didn't stop to count the arrows, but he sure as heck wasn't coming back for more. It would have to be enough. Kaladin dodged behind a rock, and teleported back to Zora's Domain.

Back at the palace, he was greeted by Sidon, with a signature smile.

"I knew you could do it, Kaladin!" he said ecstatically

Kaladin started to wonder how often the prince used that phrase-and how often he actually meant it. He was exhausted after the fight, and really wanted to take a nap. But in his experience, disasters waited for no one, and he rather not get woken up for some urgent crisis. So when Sidon asked if Kaladin was ready to face the beast, Kaladin agreed to meet the prince in an hour by the dam.

After gathering some supplies, since nobody knew what would happen once Kaladin boarded Vah Ruta, he was ready to go. Sidon explained the plan and soon Kaladin was riding on the prince. He was a little unsure about riding the prince at first, but it wasn't the strangest thing he'd done. After several laps, with Kaladin lashing shock arrows at the elephant, (since he can't shoot a bow to save his life) both were soaked, but Kaladin was inside the beast. Sidon tried to follow to help, but some strange force stopped him from entering.

As he was walking in, a soft voice seemed to echo in Kaladin's head. It said,"Sorry to intrude, hero, but I think that I should explain. I am Mipha, Vah Ruta's pilot." Mipha was silent for a moment, then said,"You aren't who I was expecting though. I don't want to be rude, but where is Link? Is he okay?"

"It's a long story, but my name is Kaladin. Link is currently missing, and I've been working in his stead. I guess I'm Hyrule's hero for now."

"Very well then, to fix the divine beast, you'll need to activate five terminals that look like the one on your far right."

Kaladin walked over to the device, and placed his slate on the pad. The terminal turned blue.

"Just like that, Kaladin. Four more to go. While inside Vah Ruta, you can control her trunk from your sheikah slate, which might be helpful in getting to the terminals. Good luck, replacement-hero." Mipha's voice faded out.

Kaladin noticed right away that all of the terminals were hard to get to. Those sheikah sure had an odd sense of humor. Despite the strange puzzles, Kaladin successfully found all of the terminals. He went to activate the central terminal, when a mass of dark energy and ancient parts popped out. And Kaladin was running low on stormlight.
