He flew to the range, wearing warm winter gear this time. After completing the nearby shrine, Kaladin walked down to the little building. The range was a sort of natural wind tunnel, and the Rito had hung up targets around the cliff walls. Someone Kaladin assumed was Teba was cleaning his bow inside the shelter.

Teba was startled when Kaladin walked in, and jumped into a fighting posture "Who are you? Why are you here?" he said.

"I hear you're going to mount an attack on the divine beast. I want to help," Kaladin said.

"Well, I need a wingman. You'll do, but only if you can hit five targets in a minute, even though it's below average. I need someone who can hold his own up there."

Kaladin was going to stop Vah Medoh. He was probably the only one at the moment who could. And while he could fly up on his own, he really didn't want to tick off the Rito. Especially Teba. He struggled with arrows, except when using a phrenic bow. Sadly, the bow had broken not too long after his fight with Waterblight, so he'd just have to fire arrows the hard way.

"Pass me some arrows."

"No bow?"

"Just watch."

Teba handed Kaladin a dozen arrows. Kaladin jumped into the range and lashed himself upwards. While the wind was powerful, Kaladin decided not to risk it. He struggled to get used to the wind stream, but soon he was in a steady position. Kaladin had know idea how Teba was counting time, but that was an issue for later. Teba was mostly willing to trust Kaladin. He'd return the favor.

Miraculously, Kaladin managed to hit the required targets. None were bullseyes but Teba hadn't specified that those were required.

When Kaladin landed back on the pad, Teba said,"I've never seen a Hylian fly. Or do whatever you just did with those arrows. You're on. Meet me in an hour with any supplies you need while on board. I'll lend you some bomb arrows so don't worry about that."

Kaladin and Teba meet up in an hour and manage to actually take down the divine beast's shield pretty quickly. Teba was injured and flew down. Kaladin tried to follow him down, to check the injury, but Teba waved him off. He couldn't make out all the words but Teba shouted something back about Vah Medoh only being deactivated for a short time. Kaladin was still tempted to fly down, but he couldn't risk the mission. Besides, Teba would be okay, since the injury was so small. He'd just have to be.

Kaladin went into the beast alone, and to his great disappointment found a similar set-up as Vah Ruta. It was needlessly complex per usual. When Kaladin walked in, Ravali gave Kaladin a speech similar to Mipha's, though he wasn't convinced that Kaladin could fix the beast. But Kaladin persisted, only jumped a little bit when Windblight appeared, and defeated him quickly. Ravali, a tall Rito, appeared clapping with contempt.

"Whoever you are, strange newcomer, that was good. I'll admit that I didn't think you had it in you." He wasn't admitting, Ravli had made that very clear from the start. "I grant you my ability to create an updraft, that I've dubbed Ravali's Gale. Enjoy," he said. A green orb was shot into Kaladin. It knocked him back less than last time.

Kaladin started to teleport as he said,"Thanks. I will."

While he didn't want to disrespect a ghost's last wish, he had a different use in mind for the power.

After wandering around just a little bit, he found Teba sitting on one of Rito village's nearby rock formations. It looked like he was watching Vah Medoh.

"You're back. I'm glad to see that you made it out alive," Teba said as Kaladin helped him up. He seemed relieved.

"Yeah, I did somehow," Kaladin said nonchalantly. He gestured to Teba's foot. "How's the leg?"

Teba grunted. "Doing better. Still hurts sometimes when I put pressure on it, but it's fine."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Kaladin paused for a breath. "While I was up there, I talked with Ravali's ghost. He granted me the ability to create an updraft on a whim. But I can fly already. I think the power would better serve one of his own people. Would you like the power of Ravali's Gale?"

"You'd just grant it to me?" He reminded Kaladin of Teft in that moment, the way he'd been waiting for Kaladin to return from the canyon, the way he sounded so skeptical. Storms, he missed Teft.

"You'd use it more than me."

"You know how to do that? Pass the ability on?"

"I think. Do you want me to?"

"Heck yes!" Teba tried to jump, but sat down again after jarring his bad leg. "I've been wondering for years how he did it. I've never been able to figure it out."

Kaladin concentrated for a moment. He could feel Ravali's power within him, and somehow pulled it out. A green orb appeared to come out of Kaladin, and he passed it into Teba.

Teba shot upwards. Kaladin watched for a moment, then followed after Teba called down. The two chased each other for a little bit, Teba occasionally used a spurt of Ravali's gale to get higher. Kaladin was much faster, but Teba had been flying his whole life, not to mention that he knew the landscape. Kaladin started to run out of stormlight. Teba saw Kaladin falter and touched down. Kaladin followed shortly after.

"You don't know what that means to me," Teba said. He was more alive in that moment than Kaladin had ever seen him.

Kaladin said,"No, but I know that Ravali's Gale is in good hands. I hate to head out so soon but Hyrule needs saving and all that…"

"Yeah, duty calls. Come stop by for dinner sometime. You seem like a great fellow,

Kaladin. Hyrule is in good hands."

The two parted ways. Kaladin knew he had managed to make a friend for life.

After his exchange with Teba, Kaladin started to pull out his Sheikah slate to teleport. Syl stopped him and asked,"Did Bolson ever finish the house? It's been a few days since we were in Hateno."

"You're right Syl, I completely forgot about that. Honestly, it'd be nice to sleep in a real bed before tackling the next beast. Let's go find out."

Kaladin changed his destination in the slate. When he arrived at Hateno, he could see the house from the shrine's teleportation pad. It was gorgeous.

Boslon and crew had really done a "massive overhaul" of the place. The roof had been retiled, and there was a nice flower bed out front. Most noticeably, the house had been repainted in garish reds and blues, but he'd seen the Bolson constructed houses nearby. It must have been their signature.

Inside, the space hadn't changed much, but it looked a thousand times better with furnishings and a few weapon displays. The bed upstairs felt wonderful after a long day in the divine beast, and Kaladin quickly fell asleep.

He woke up late the next morning, and decided to gather some supplies before tackling another divine beast. He found Bolson and Karson outside. They were discussing plans to build another small house next door. Bolson looked up as Kaladin walked out.

Bolson said,"Hey, how do you like the house? I really think it turned out."

"It's gorgeous. Your company's work really fixed the place up. Where did Hudson go? I want to thank him too."

"He's starting a new branch in Akkala. He's thinking of calling it Tarrey Town. I bet he could use your help if you wanted to stop by. Karson and I are really busy discussing plans for another house like yours next door. I want to start a whole series since your house turned out so nice. Anyway, if you find any problems, the warranty lasts for the next month. After that it's on you."

Kaladin bought more supplies in town. He would have tackled Gerudo valley next, but his conversation with Greta had enlightened him to the Gerudo way of life. They sounded like interesting people. The other Gerudo he'd bumped into were just as intimidating. While Kaladin would never admit it to Syl, they kind of scared him. Better to save that for last. He'd had enough culture shock for a while. Maybe the Gorons would be more normal. He teleported to a shrine and started the trek back to Eldin stable. Roasting sounded pleasant after the sub-zero temperatures of Hebra.
