Kaladin found the Eldin bridge much quicker than the mine. Rudania let out an ear piercing roar as Kalaidn walked to the bridge. It looked like one of the lizards Kaladin always saw while walking around Eldin. As he crossed the bridge, he was hit with a wave of heat and had to put on the helmet to the fire-proof suit.
Yunobo cowered as three moblins rained blows on his shield. How did that kid do it? Yunobo was always in some sort of trouble, at least when Kaladin found him.
There wasn't really a way to be subtle, so Kaladin decided to shout instead,"Hey, you guys!" Two of the moblins turned to face Kaladin. "Leave Yunobo alone."
The two charged him while a third continued to work at Yunobo's shield.
Kaladin figured this would happen, and pulled out a royal spear from his magical pocket, one of the better ones he'd found. A few minutes of quick fighting later, and all the moblins had disappeared into smoke. Yunobo's shield had somehow held until the last moblin was gone.
"Thanks again, goro. Man, you sure are something with that spear. Too bad it isn't worth much against Rudania. How's boss?"
"His back is still painful. He asked me to handle launching you at Rudania today, if that's okay. Once we get close enough, I think I can quell the beast once and for all."
"Alright goro, though we'll have to dodge some guardians. I've never seen so many skywatchers."
There were several guardians hovering over the path. It was going to be difficult to avoid their gaze, but Kaladin really didn't want to pick a fight with a thousand pounds of sheikah and Ganon fury if he didn't have to.
Yunobo and Kaladin discussed their plan some more, and soon they were ready. The climb up the mountain was slow, but the two quickly fell into a rhythm of pausing for guardians and then running past. Every once in a while they would pause and Kaladin would fire Yunobo at Vah Rudania, which pushed the beast back up the mountain. Kaladin begrudgingly disposed of a few moblins near the top since they weren't moving anytime soon. Finally, Rudania had settled down enough for Kaladin to enter.
"Good luck, goro. It's been fun adventuring with you," Yunobo said.
Kaladin smiled and said,"Be careful on the way back. I got rid of most of the scouts, but there are still a few."
"You can count on me, goro. When you're done with Rudania, you should come back to town and report to boss. I think he has something else for you."
The two fist bumped and Kaladin walked up the ramp to Rudania. Yunobo watched him until Kaladin couldn't see him anymore. Sure, the kid got into far too much trouble, but he had a lot more courage than people gave him credit for. He wasn't scared to be launched out of a storming cannon. That took guts.
Once inside, Daruk gave Kaladin the same spiel about terminals and controlling the beast. Kaladin found all the terminals pretty quickly, and fighting Fireblight Ganon was a cinch.
"That was impressive! Good job, little guy! I have the ability to generate a shield that blocks attacks for a short while. I'd like to pass it along to you."
A red orb of energy appeared and shot into Kaladin. He activated the power and was shocked to see a shield around him, just like Yunobo's.
"Glad to see that it still works. Oh, hey, before I go, will you tell Yunobo something for me?"
Kaladin teleported back to Goron City.
Syl said to Kaladin,"You really seem to be getting this down. Only one more beast to rescue until we fight Ganon."
"Don't remind me. Weapons seem to break so fast here for some reason, I wonder if I'll be able to find enough for the fight."
"We'll figure something out. Somebody has to have something more durable than what you've been using."
Kaladin and Syl walk back to Bludo's house one more time. Inside, Kaladin and Syl recounted their adventures in Rudania to Bludo.
Afterwards Bludo nodded and said,"Daruk left a weapon behind for his people, to be wielded by a great warrior. You have done our people a service that I wish to repay. Open the chest back there."
Kaladin opened the chest to find a huge stone sword of some sort.
"I can't accept this. I wouldn't know how to wield it. You've been nothing but kind to me since I came to help, and I'm grateful for it. But I think the real hero was Yunobo. I may have been the one inside the beast, but I couldn't have done it without his help and courage. With your blessing I'd love to grant this sword to him."
"You raise a good point. Go find the boy. He's earned the right just as much as you." Bludo seemed relieved that the weapon would stay with the Gorons. "I want you to know, Kaladin, that you've done a lot for me and mine. Us Gorons don't forget a debt. Come back if you need a favor, and kick Ganon's behind for me." Bludo gave Kaladin a hearty, and slightly painful, slap on the back, not unlike Rock.
Kaladin and Syl wandered around until they found Yunobo eating some sort of rock by a communal cooking pot. Apparently the pots were a thing around Hyrule. Kaladin pulled out the weapon.
Kaladin waved and said,"Hey, Yunobo!"
Yunobo looked up from whatever he was eating. "Goro! You made it out. I was starting to get worried about you. Did you go see boss?"
"Yes, and I have something to give you. Bludo and I both agree that you've earned the right to wield this, for your service in stopping Rudania."
Yunobo took the weapon and stared at Kaladin in shock. "Boss wanted me to have it?"
"It's all yours."
"No way, goro. This thing is legit. It's the legendary Boulder Breaker that Daruk himself wielded. It's said to be the only one of its kind."
Yunobo started to fling the boulder breaker around, and almost hit a post. Well, he would have if Kaladin hadn't used a pinch of stormlight to lash the weapon away. Yunobo didn't notice the lashing, but he stopped swinging the weapon. He looked ashamedly at the post.
"One more thing, before I go." Yunobo looked ready to explode with excitement already, but Kaladin had a message to deliver. "Daruk wanted me to tell you that he's been watching you. He's proud of you, and that you've earned the right to his blessing. And to 'tell ole' Bludo that there's a ruby in the back of the north mine storage.' He couldn't believe that nobody had found it yet."
Yunobo tackled Kaladin in a very tight hug. "You're the best, goro. Go save Hyrule."
"I will buddy, I will." Kaladin said, reaching his free arm around the Goron. He'd miss the guy after he finally made it home.
