Kaladin decided to make a stop at Tarrey Town in Akkala next. He might as well see the world while here. Also, he'd never had time until now to check in on Hudson. He teleported to the foothill stable, and managed to walk to the south Akkala stable before dark.

He teleported home, and the next day started bright and early. A few people at the stables knew who Hudson was, and directed Kaladin to the east. One of the stablehands warned Kaladin that there were guardians that roamed nearby the north route to Tarrey Town. They didn't usually come to the road, but Kaladin had noticed that he attracted their notice like anticipation spren to a battle. He didn't really want to fight guardians so he took the south route instead.

Along the road, Kaladin stumbled into a shrine, and noticed a potential fairy fountain just south. He still didn't have clothes to enchant, or rupees to give, but maybe he could come back and help her out when he had the funds to spare. Kaladin could just make out Hudson on a small island in lake Akkala. A bridge was already assembled along with a small, brightly painted house.

In town, Hudson noticed him and waved Kaladin over. Hudson was digging at a strange rock formation.

"Hiya Kaladin. Progress has been slow. Who knew that Akkala rocks were so hard?"

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's no matter. I'll figure it out eventually. Right now, I'm more worried about my current shortage of wood. I've cleared one rock, but I can't build any houses without more wood."

"I could go get some for you."

"That's nice of you, but I don't want to be a burden. If you have wood though, I'd take some."

"I have a few logs in my pocket. How much do you need?"

"Ten trees should be enough." Hudson didn't even acknowledge that Kaladin had claimed to have trees in his pocket. Maybe the pockets really were a Hyrule specific thing. He'd have to figure out how they made them before he left.

"I'll be right back."

The Akkala region had a lot of trees, and nobody owned the land that Kaladin knew of. Hudson was clearly doing his own things up here. A few minutes later, Kaladin had ten trees worth of logs in his pockets. The things could be pretty useful. Hudson graciously accepted the wood.

"I'll start work on a house. I was wondering though, if you knew a Goron with a name ending in son? It'd be nice to have another set of hands, and Gorons are known for their strength. At the very least, they'd be close and could get here quickly."

Kaladin thought for a moment before he said,"Actually, I think I know a guy. But why does their name have to end in 'son'?"

"Company policy."

It wasn't Kaladin's job to question the weird traditions and laws people upheld. Though the Bolson construction law about only allowing names ending in "son" was one of the weirdest things he'd encountered so far.

Kaladin came back with a Goron named Greyson he'd met on his way to Goron city. The man was actually excited at the prospect of moving to Akkala. With a job, he finally could.

Hudson was excited to have help clearing the rocks. But he needed more wood, twenty trees worth this time to build the next house. The next house was built in the same boxy style as the newer houses at Hateno village. The garish colors were starting to grow on him.

Kaladin gathered the wood, and when he came back Greyson and his son had set up a shop outside the second house. Apparently they'd found some gemstones in the rock they were excavating.

Hudson took the wood and said,"What this town really needs next is a tailor. My clothes and Greyson's are getting worn out, and neither of us sows. Try the Gerudo, they have some pretty well known tailors. And make sure her name ends with son."

"I might have to help you later with that one. I haven't met any Gerudo tailors yet. Can I help you with something else?"

"Not at the moment. Come back if you find the right Gerudo."

Kaladin was sorry that he couldn't help more but it would take ages to comb through the Gerudo desert looking for tailors. Maybe he'd meet someone while helping out with their divine beast.
