After a night at his home in Hateno, Kaladin hiked to Gerudo valley. He was able to teleport part of the way to a small stable, but trekked the rest of his way in. After a long, grueling day, he managed to activate the Wasteland tower, and made it to the Gerudo canyon stable. He activated a nearby shrine, and teleported home for the night.

The next day, Kaladin set out to tackle Gerudo Valley. A mile or two beyond the stable, was a small bazaar.

Kaladin and Syl wandered through the market, the heat noticeable but not unbearable. Syl rushed forward to check out every little thing, even turning into some of the strange bugs. Kaladin was more subdued. Kara Kara Bazaar was certainly different from anything he'd seen, but he missed home. He could only handle so many new experiences at a time. He'd grown fond of Hyrule, but more than anything else he missed Bridge Four, and his family. They must have been worried sick about him.

While in the market he talked to a few of the women about Vah Naboris, the Gerudo divine beast. Everyone agreed that the beast was acting up, and making it hard to hunt.

A tailor said,"I'm ready to move. With the divine beast scaring everyone off my business has been terrible. Nobody wants to trek to Gerudo valley to begin with, but even merchants won't come anymore. I'm sick of this place."

Kaladin remembered Hudson. "I actually think that I might be able to help you with that. What's your name?"

"Rhondson."

"Rhondson, have you ever heard of Tarrey Town?"

Rhondson was more than happy to move. Kaladin would check on Hudson later, and make sure that Rhondson had found the place. He'd shown her Akkala lake on a map, but she hadn't been outside of Gerudo valley before. Hopefully she'd make it to Tarrey Town safely.

A few miles outside of the bazaar, Kaladin walked to what he assumed was Gerudo Town, only to see guards watching the entrance to the city. Both immediately pointed spears at Kaladin. Of course the only guards who did their job in all of Hyrule happened to be scary Gerudo women.

The one on the left, spitting every syllable out said,"What business do you think you have here? Gerudo town is for women only. No voe allowed." Seeing his confusion she added,"To you Hylians that's a man. Get out."

"Could you at least give your leader a message? I come in the hero's name, with Impa's blessing. I can calm Vah Naboris."

The guard actually spat at the ground,"That's what they all say. Besides, there is nothing that a man could do to help us with that. I don't know who you are, but you better get out of here."

Kaladin was disappointed, but not stupid enough to try to sneak in. He didn't want to interfere if nobody wanted his help, though it seemed like he was the only person able to enter the divine beasts.

A man walked over to Kaladin wearing some special looking boots. "Hey, man! The name's Bozai. You've been trying to get into Gerudo town too?"

"Yeah, but they don't let men in. Impa sent me to help reclaim Nabooris to fight the Calamity."

Bozai beckoned Kaladin closer, a little way from the guards. "That's tough, man. You know, I've heard rumors that a guy managed to sneak into Gerudo town before, dressed like a woman. I'm not sure how he managed it though."

"That's good to know."

Kaladin walked back to activate a nearby shrine. He didn't think sneaking in dressed like a Gerudo would work. Even ignoring the logistics of trying to pass for a woman (which was likely impossible) what would he do once he started talking to the chieftain? There was no way he could sound like a woman, and he had no interest in experiencing a Gerudo dungeon. Man, if only Shallan was there. She could weave something for him or…He suddenly got an idea.

"Hey Syl? You're a girl? Mostly?" Kaladin asked.

Syl answered,"Uh, yes. I mean some spren don't really have gender but-"

Kaladin cut her off,"No, no, it's not about that. Do you think you could sneak in and hold your form long enough to deliver a message?" He'd never wished that he could write more.

"I guess I'll try. Don't wander off too far, because this might put a strain on our Connection."

Kaladin and Syl walked off to one side, out of sight of the guards. Syl changed to full size, and summoned clothing similar to the Gerudo they'd seen. While Syl sometimes struggled to get shadows right, her ability to capture colors had only improved over the last few months. They practiced most days, ever since the time Syl had needed to pretend to be a voidspren when Urithiru was occupied.

"You've got this, Syl. I'll work on completing this shrine while you're in the city. My spirit orb stash is running low. Good luck."
