Syl walked into Gerudo town, to a marketplace even busier than the bazaar. She was tempted to buy one of the durians, but disappointedly remembered that she was incorporeal. And probably couldn't carry around rupees anyway. A few people glanced her way, but if they noticed that she wasn't completely opaque, they didn't let on. Syl walked up to the palace steps, surprised that the guards out front didn't stop her, and entered the throne room.
Syl took a small curtsey in front of a young Gerudo on a simple throne.
There was a guard at Gerudo's side, a powerfully built woman. The chieftain nodded to her, and the guard, whom Syl later learned was named Buliara, said,"You may rise. What brings you to Gerudo valley, and to Chieftain Riju, ruler of the Gerudo?"
"My name is Syl. I've come on behalf of the current hero of Hyrule, Kaladin, my friend. We've heard about your divine beast troubles and want to help."
"I'll admit that at the moment calming Vah Naboris is the least of Gerudo worries at the moment. Yiga stole the clan's most valuable possession, the thunder helm, which is also the only way to get close to Naboris." Riju seemed to realize something. She asked,"Why couldn't your friend Kaladin come with you to meet me? If she's working for the Yiga, tell her that the Gerudo won't give in to their demands."
Syl couldn't see a better way to put it so she said,"No, Kaladin is a voe."
Riju immediately became less amiable, and her guard looked ready to stab something. "You say he's the hero of Hyrule? If he's such a big deal I bet he can handle a few Yiga with ease. Get the thunder helm. Then we can talk more."
"You'd trust a voe to get the thunder helm back?" Buliara said angrily.
"All of our people have failed, and we're running out of options. Besides, I've heard that only those with the Goddess's blessing can enter divine beasts. If Kaladin really is the hero, as Syl claims, he can enter Naboris and fix her. Reclaiming the thunder helm is the perfect opportunity to see if Kaladin is the hero. If he's not…" The guard nodded at this statement. Syl had no idea what they were talking about, but she was sure that Kaladin was currently the hero of Hyrule. They'd figure it out.
Riju looked back at Syl. "Tell Kaladin that he'll need to recover the thunder helm from the Yiga to prove his worth. I'll let the guards know to grant entry to a voe carrying the thunder helm. We'll talk more then."
"Thank you, your majesty. I'll relay the message."
Syl found Kaladin just emerging from the shrine outside the city. He held a new spirit orb.
He turned around and saw Syl. He asked,"How did it go?"
"Well, you're not going to like it…"
