After some rest and planning, he teleported to just below Vah Rudania. He glided part of the way to skull lake's eye, and then flew to the top of the east eye's rock spire. Blessedly, inside the shrine there wasn't a challenge, only a flameblade (which could light things on fire according to Zelda) and spirit orb.
From outside the shrine, Kaladin could just barely see a strange building of some sort, behind the ancient lab. It looked sort of Sheikah. Maybe it was intended for the hero? Kaladin teleported back to the ancient lab, and lashed himself over to the structure. It was a massive labyrinth.
As soon as he sat foot on an outside wall, Zelda's voice echoed in his head. It startled Kaladin a little, and he barely caught himself from going over the wall.
She said,"Sorry to intrude, but I thought you might like to know what this place is?"
"That would be nice. Is it some sort of trial?" Kaladin wasn't looking forward to whatever was inside. He could already see five guardian scouts flying overhead.
"I'm afraid so. The sheikah were big on them, you know. This one will require you to find a room in the back of the labyrinth where, I think, there is a shrine. Link never completed the challenge. There are two more labyrinths like it throughout Hyrule. Good-" Zelda's connection was cut out. She was weakening, and Kaladin was running out of time.
It was actually fairly easy to make his way to the north end of the maze. Climbing down while dodging guardian fire was more challenging, but he managed. He climbed up a flight of stairs, and at the top was a chest.
Inside was a purple pair of leg wraps. They were probably enchanted or something weird like that. Kaladin didn't really want to know. Zelda didn't chime in, so Kaladin assumed she didn't know what they were either. Beside the chest was a hole, with air coming out. Kaladin looked at Syl, silently asking what she thought. She nodded, so he jumped down, but he lashed himself ever so slightly upwards so that the fall was slow.
Below was a massive cavern, probably man-made eons ago. As soon as he set foot on the ground, four guardians targeted him. He didn't think he'd ever get used to that. The fight was long, and it almost ended in his death a few times. The ancient arrows Robbie had given him saved his life. They destroyed the guardians he'd fired at on impact. The other two guardians were easy to dispatch after that.
Inside a chest on the central dais, was a circlet with a diamond set in the middle.
Zelda said,"What you're holding is an extremely rare circlet, made to resist guardian attacks." Zelda's voice turned into static as she started to say something about the Gerudo. It was clear again when she said,"I'll claim it for study if you don't plan to use it."
"It's all yours," Kaladin said, as he slipped it into his pocket.
In a dark corner, Kaladin could just make out a red chest. He walked over, and opened it to find a strange looking horse bridle. Zelda didn't comment, probably because she was weakening or didn't know what it was. He pocketed the thing to examine later.
