Kip
"The Royal Carriage approaches!"
Suki
"What did he say, Artie?"
"The Queen is coming."
"Showtime."
I got up off the Palace steps.
"Suki Sanchez here from the USA. A long way from home, but happily following a story that started in the streets of San Francisco. And is about to have a happy ending here in the small beautiful land of Genovia."
Mia
"Prepare for the arrival of Queen Mia!"
Clarisse
Prime Minster Motaz and me were greeting guests on their way into the Ballroom.
"Buenas tardes, Tanya."
"Buenas tardes, Su Majestad." Tanya greeted.
"Aqule presento mi tio que noviecita de Rosario."
"Oh, how do you do, Seor?"
"Oh, I do better if you and I get married."
Prime Minister Motaz stared.
"Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!"
We glanced at each other.
"I'm sorry. My Uncle learned his English watching the old Three Stooges movies."
He nodded his head.
"Sorry."
"Ooh!"
Clarisse
The chairs were packed with guests.
That included members of Genovian Parliament.
The ushers (Groomsmen) escorted the Bridesmaids down the aisle.
Lilly
"Outspoken American activist, Lilly Moscovitz, the maid of honor, glides forward as a vision in black."
Shades
I walked down the aisle, carrying a baby.
"Aw."
"Ooh."
Elsie
"And Queen Mia's little cousin, Prince Leon, affectionately known as James of the Cherub Cheeks, comes down the aisle as the Royal ring bearer."
Joe
Charlotte approached me.
"We're ready when she is."
Shades
Baby Leon pulled my sunglasses off my face.
I struggled to get them back on.
Clarisse
The female conductor led her choir at the front.
Pierre's four year old daughter, Larissa scattered rose petals on the aisle.
All of the guests rode to their feet.
They turned to face the back of the Ballroom.
Mia
Guards opened the doors.
I stepped through.
I was wearing a white embellished Ballgown Wedding dress with a long train.
The long train is carried by two page boys.
The dress doesn't have sleeves, a Sweetheart neckline, and a Cathedral veil with rhinestones on it flew down my back from my sparkling tiara.
Nicholas
I smiled confidently at Clarisse.
Mia
I nodded and smiled.
I walked down the aisle.
Lilly took my bouquet.
Nicholas and me joined hands.
"Everyone, please be seated."
Everybody sat back down.
"Welcome to you all. I'm honored to be presiding over the Wedding of Lord Nicholas Devereaux and Queen Amelia Thermopolis Renaldi. Although, I don't know them well, I know that this is a good match. How do I know that? Well..."
Edith cleared her throat.
"Because of you. Because of all of you."
She motioned to the seats of guests.
"Looking out at their friends and their family..."
Mom was smiling.
Josh was snoring as he was sleeping.
"And seeing the joy on all your faces,"
Nicholas' friend, Mason was smiling.
"Seeing how happy you are for them,"
His friend, Amber smiled.
"Tells me everything I need to know."
Michael smiled.
"It tells me that these two people deserve to be together."
Andrew looked across the altar at Lady Larissa.
"They deserve to be happy and fulfilled."
She looked down at the bouquet in her hand.
"And they deserve a long life together."
Nicholas grinned.
"And now to the standard housekeeping."
We smiled at each other.
"Does anyone have just cause why these two should not be married? Speak now or forever hold your peace."
Nobody moved.
"I understand Lord Nicholas and Queen Amelia have written their own vows."
"Yes."
"Yes."
"Lord Nicholas."
"You are my best friend. Today, I give myself to you.
Using the love that we share as a vessel, through the pressures of the present and the uncertainties of our future. I can promise that you will always have my deepest love, fullest devotion, and my most tender care.
I promise to love you, to always strive to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad. When life seems easy and also when times become difficult. When our love is simple and when things become complicated.
I promise to honor you and to always hold our love for each other in highest regard. These things I pledge to you today and all the days of our life together. I love you."
"Queen Amelia."
"Four years ago, I could never have imagined so would be in this place. A place where I look into the eyes of my best friend and pledge to you my love.
"You are the sweetest, most loving, caring, kind, and protective person I have ever known. And I have no doubt that you make me a better woman and Queen.
You believe in me and have shown me how to love with unconditional acceptance and everyday you reaffirm that you are my soul Mate. Together we are an unbreakable pair; Bound by our love.
I'm not sure that a lifetime is long enough for me to return all that you have given me. But I promise to spend my days by your side. To inspire you, laugh with you, cherish you, confirm you, share your dreams, and grow with you.
I believe in what we are and I will always love you with every beat of my heart."
"Rings."
Michael gave us the rings.
"Do you, Lord Nicholas Devereaux, take Queen Amelia Thermopolis Renaldi to be your lawfully wedded Wife?"
"I do." Nicholas answered.
I slid the thick black Wedding band on his left ring finger.
"Do you, Queen Amelia Thermopolis Renaldi, take Lord Nicholas Devereaux to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." I answered.
Nicholas slid the slender black Wedding band on my left ring finger.
"By the power vested in me by the land of Genovia, I now pronounce you, Lord Nicholas and you, Queen Amelia... Husband and Wife."
I laughed.
"Lord Nicholas, you may kiss your Bride."
We kissed deeply, passionately, and tenderly.
We turned to face the crowd.
"It's my great honor to pronounce to you and present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Devereaux."
We walked up the aisle together.
