Hello friends!
Hope you've had a great weekend!
I sure did, and here I managed to cook up a new fic! Even though I got 'My Saviour' and 'Mobius Blood and Tears' to work on. This one I've been wanting to publish for a while and this is the turning point for Leonardo's adopted daughter Kemeko!
In this fic, Kemeko finally learns the truth about her origins with the Foot and the Shredder, where will all this lead her? Well, you better stay tuned here to find out!
Chapter One
The Big Day
Down deep in the turtle's lair under the city of New York, it was a day of great excitement for one of the residents below.
As the sun was setting above the city that never slept, some above the surface were settling in for the night, the inhabitants below were about to wake up and begin their activities.
In Kemeko's bedroom, the young adopted Asian daughter of the blue masked turtle Leonardo slowly awoke.
Opening her tired grey eyes, Kemeko yawned and stretched before sitting up and looking around the room, brushing her long black ebony hair out of her face.
No sooner did she look to the left of her bed then she found herself face to face with a scaley green lizard turtle mutant hybrid grinning at her.
"Surprise!" the hybrid squealed and Kemeko screamed in shock and almost rolled off the side of her bed.
"Pandora!?" Kemeko demanded crossly "What are you doing!?"
Pandora chuckled and stood up.
From what Kemeko could see, the Hybrid had been up early and was dressed in her black trousers with orange and red stripes, her red crop top and metal studded biker waistcoat.
"It's your birthday!" Pandora grinned excitedly as she leapt on the bed "Kemi, It's your birthday! You're in the teen years at last! Thirteen years old! Whoop!"
Kemeko shook a head a few times, still in shock at Pandora's sudden appearance in her room, but still not quite with it having just woken up.
One thing Kemeko hated was being shaken awake, she always liked to be woken up gently otherwise she would get cranky.
Every day she would set her alarm to wake her up at least an hour before she had to get up so she could hit the snooze button and doze a little longer.
Today was one of those days she had decided to not set her alarm as it was a weekend and not a school day and had hoped for a lie in.
But that hadn't been the case and she was ready to give Pandora a piece of her mind.
"What?" She snarled at Pandora "You come in here to wake me up on a weekend and…" she paused.
It was then she remembered, today was her birthday! The hybrid was right, and she began to chuckle.
"Oh yeah!" she laughed, her mood doing a complete 80-degree change "It is my birthday, isn't it?"
"Duh!" Pandora rolled her eyes "And not just any birthday! But your thirteenth! You're a teenager! You're old enough to start in the field topside!"
Kemeko stared at Pandora then the realisation dawned on her again.
"Of course! Yes!" she cried.
She remembered after Pandora turned thirteen, the grown-ups had agreed she was ready to begin fighting in the field, yet they felt she wasn't ready to take on the Foot or the Venomous Five, but would start her out with small petty crimes, mainly committed by the Purple Dragons.
Pandora had been delighted to finally be allowed to join in with her parents and Uncles, and often came back with stories and tales to tell Kemeko who said she was excited to finally be allowed to join in, yet unlike the ever eager Pandora, she was happy to sit and wait until it was her turn and learn the ways of computer hacking and understanding how to navigate those in the field to help on missions.
Yet there was that incident two years ago when they had to infiltrate the Foot Headquarters when their enemies had teamed up with another evil scientist and they had worked together with some mutant sharks to stop his plan of mutating New York city.
Kemeko remembered that all too well, her father, aunt Monalisa, and turtle Uncles along with their Shark Allies had gone into the Headquarters to put the plans of their enemy to a halt, but ended up being captured, and they had been outside with the Sharks human ally Bends, their Aunt April, Uncle Casey, and Grandfather Splinter in the Battle Shell.
Then the Battle Shell was attacked and whilst the grown-ups had been captured, Pandora and Kemeko had been able to escape, but it fell to them to go in and rescue the adults and save the city and luckily their mission had gone well.
It was because of that incident Pandora had been promoted early to join the grown-ups in facing more dangerous foes like the Foot and the Venomous Five.
Kemeko meanwhile had to wait a little longer as she was not yet a teenager, and she didn't mind as she had not felt ready at the time, but now after all the training she had received and now she was at that age, she felt ready to join her cousin and her family in the field with smaller foes.
"So yes!" Pandora squealed "You're gonna join me on missions! You're gonna be an awesome sidekick!"
Kemeko frowned.
"Sidekick?" she demanded.
Pandora turned to Kemeko and laughed.
"I'm just messin' with ya!" she chortled "My ally!"
"Our Ally you mean?" a voice was heard from the doorway and Kemeko and Pandora looked over to see the twin Geckolings Freya and Loki standing in the doorway in their pyjamas.
Loki was wearing red ones whilst Freya wore green ones.
"Hey guys!" Kemeko smiled seeing her half gecko half dragon cousins.
For Kemeko's birthday, Tyroth the Dragon and Sephie the Gecko along with the Chicago Knights and their close friends had been invited to celebrate and they had accepted without hesitation, especially as this was a very special birthday for the young Asian girl.
The twins walked in grinning and flew over and landed on the bed before bouncing on it a little.
"How long have you been up?" Kemeko asked.
"A while!" Freya quipped.
"Where's Sonia?" Pandora asked raising an eyebrow.
"Still asleep." Loki answered, "I wanted to go in there, but she would have growled at me if I did!"
"She loves her sleep." Freya said, "But she'll be awake soon enough along with the others."
Kemeko sat up in her bed and smiled.
"Have you been excited for this day?" Freya asked.
Like Pandora, the twins had been allowed in the field as soon as they turned fourteen, but they had only been allowed to deal with smaller incidents like petty theft or small drug rings.
"I have yes!" Kemeko answered "I'm excited but scared too, especially since after that incident with the Street Sharks…"
"Wish we'd been there!" Loki muttered but Pandora elbowed him prompting him to be quiet.
"I was the damsel in distress and Pandora did all the fighting!"
"But you played a good part in saving everyone as well as the city!" Freya reminded Kemeko "You're very brave!"
"Yeah!" Loki agreed.
"Daddy often says being brave isn't about running into battle, brandishing weapons and the like, bravery comes in all forms!" Freya said.
"Like admitting when wrong!" Pandora said.
"And putting others before oneself!" Loki added.
Kemeko smiled as she listened.
"You're very brave Kemeko!" Freya said, "And you're gonna be an amazing ally and fellow soldier when we go out there and face evil!"
So much so she opened her wings and flew up into the air.
"With Odin as our guide we shall smite the evil and do good to the world!" she cheered to which the others laughed.
"Aww thanks guys!" Kemeko smiled as she climbed out of bed and began to search for her clothes.
"What am I going to wear for my birthday?" she asked.
"Need help?" Pandora and Freya asked in unison, and they stared at each other in surprise.
Kemeko and Loki chuckled, and the Asian girl walked over to her wardrobe and opened it before searching through some clothes before pulling out a couple of smart kimonos.
Both were gifts from Leonardo.
One was blue with white flower decoration and the other was a pale blue with dark blue flowers.
"Beautiful!" Freya breathed.
"For sure!" Loki agreed.
Pandora walked over and took the first kimono.
"I like this one!" she said.
"I prefer the other!" Loki said.
"Your choice Kem!" Freya chimed in. to which Kemeko sighed.
"I don't know which one!" she said.
The four children looked at each other yet before they could say anything, there was a knock at the door.
"Lotus?"
They recognised Leonardo's voice, and they went silent.
"Dad?" Kemeko called over.
"Kemeko?" Leonardo called in "Are you awake?"
"Yes! Come in daddy!" Kemeko called out.
The door opened and Leonardo walked in.
"Hey Uncle Leo!" Freya, Loki, and Pandora said together and bowed slightly with a fist against their palm in respect to their uncle and sensei.
"Morning kids!" Leonardo smiled "Up already and wishing Kemeko a happy birthday?"
"You betcha Uncle Leo!" Pandora said.
"I knew you'd be excited to have your cousin join you at last Pandora." Leonardo chuckled then he looked at the Kimonos Kemeko and Pandora were holding.
"Not sure what to wear?" he asked.
Kemeko nodded.
"May I make a suggestion?" Leonardo asked and he walked to the wardrobe before pulling out a white kimono with black and grey decoration.
"How about this one? The one Master Splinter got you for Christmas just gone?"
Kemeko blinked and she smiled.
"Okay daddy!" She said, "I think that is a good choice!"
Pandora clapped her hands.
"Yay! A decision made!" she looked at herself and thought for a second.
"You know what! Since Kemeko must look her best for her birthday, maybe I will do the same!"
"It's up to you Little Geisha." Leonardo said.
Pandora smiled.
"I shall!" she said, "I'll wear my kimono too!" she then dashed out of the bedroom but not before gently punching Kemeko's shoulder.
"See you soon birthday girl!"
Freya and Loki laughed then decided to follow her.
"Can't wait to party with you Kem!" they said as they left.
Kemeko smiled and after Pandora and the twins left, she took the white, grey, and black kimono and walked behind a screen to change.
Leonardo went and sat on the bed whilst he waited.
As he sat there, he looked around the bedroom at the posters and the decorated walls, remembering how he along with his family had decorated it and how it had changed so much from when Kemeko was a tiny baby to now a teenager.
His thoughts would have strayed more, but Kemeko soon appeared from behind the screen.
"Okay dad!" she announced holding out her arms and the long sleeves of the kimono.
"You look beautiful baby!" Leonardo smiled and he stood up before gesturing for her to turn around so he could tie the sash behind then he guided her to her dressing table.
"Shall we do your hair?" he asked.
"Yes please!" Kemeko smiled and seated herself on the small stool before her dressing table and mirror.
Leonardo stood behind her and at the same time he clicked a button on a music docking station on the table and some beautiful opera sung by an unknown soprano filled the room.
He then began to comb Kemeko's long black hair.
Kemeko smiled as she looked in the mirror and watched the blue masked turtle comb her hair.
This was an activity they enjoyed together, along with traditional Japanese tea or daddy daughter dates topside.
Leonardo loved to brush and style Kemeko's hair and Kemeko enjoyed the closeness she had with her adopted father.
"It's like silk." Leonardo murmured as he started to style Kemeko's hair, the top part in a bun and the other hanging loose.
He then placed a beautiful hair pin that was a white lotus flower with hanging grey and silver beads in the bun.
"You look so look beautiful Lotus Blossom, my turtle child." He sighed as he looked in the mirror with her.
Kemeko looked at her father through the mirror and she could see his eyes were watering.
"Are you okay dad?" she asked.
Leonardo blinked a few times.
"I'm fine sweetie." He said quickly "I just…well, I feel emotional, seeing you turn into a beautiful young lady, from just a tiny baby."
"Awww dad!" Kemeko said embarrassed yet she blushed with a smile.
Leonardo chuckled and kissed his adopted daughter's cheek.
"I love you kiddo."
"Love you too dad!" Kemeko replied.
And that's the first chapter!
Kemeko has woken to her 13th Birthday and as she gets ready for big day, he notices Leonardo's demenre, I bet a lot of you know why he feels this way!
Tune in for more coming your way!
