Eggos and Promises: The Mileven Collection
Aloha, my fellow readers. It is I, the great James Stryker and I am bringing you my newest fanfic for Stranger Things. Well, you've read three of my Mileven one-shots, if you haven't, then go check it out. You've all remember my Rucas one-shot collection called The 13 Days of Rucas for Girl Meets World that I've written back in 2017? Well, I'd figure that I might write a collection of one-shots that focus on Mileven just to give you your Mileven fix. These one-shots will document Mike Wheeler and Jane "El" Hopper's relationship throughout the years. It will be rated T for some language and probably some sexual humor. I might change the rating up to rated M, depending on if I want to add some Mileven smut to it. So here it is, the first chapter of Eggos and Promises. Enjoy.
P.S.: I do not own Stranger Things or the characters. If I did, then I would be rich as hell.
Chapter 1
Their Little Angel
Monday July 15, 1996
Jane "El" Hopper-Wheeler was having the perfect life. She's happily married to the man that she fell in love with when they were kids and most importantly, they've started a family together. Last year, El was pregnant with their first child, both her and Mike were nervous about starting a family and being new to this parenting thing, with a little help from their parents. And on May 20th, 1996, their daughter Terry Sarah Wheeler came into this world.
It's been two months since El gave birth to their daughter Terry, and she was now two months old. El and Mike had many sleepless nights trying to take care of their daughter, making it very challenging for the two of them to try to balance work and raising a child. While El stayed at home, Mike worked at the Hawkins Post in the mornings, that way he could come home in the afternoons to spend time with his wife and child
It was a hot, Monday afternoon and El was trying to stay cool while vacuuming the living room floor while watching All My Children on ABC while Terry is asleep in the nursery. El continued with the cleaning as Mike walked through the door to greet her.
"Hey, babe." Mike said.
"Mike." El said as she stops vacuuming the floor and approached Mike by wrapping her arms around him and giving him a kiss on the lips.
"Well, someone is very happy to see me." Mike smirked.
"Hey, that's what happened the last time when we conceived Terry." El said, grinning at Mike. "So, how was work?"
"Pretty busy. Arthur assigned me to write the story on the guy who got stuck in a chimney while trying to rob the pizza place. How dumb is that?" Mike asked.
"Really, dumb." El said.
"Have you thought about going back to work at the school after your maternity leave?" Mike asked.
"Yeah. I miss my students. It's the thought of leaving Terry alone with a babysitter got me a little nervous." El said.
"Hey, you do realize that you have Joyce and Hopper to help watch her. And you also have my mom." Mike said.
"Who will end up spoiling the hell out of our daughter." El chuckled.
"Yeah, she probably would." Mike said before sighing a bit right when he sat down on the couch. El started to look at Mike, seeing how sad he was.
"Hey, are you okay?" El asked as she sat down next to Mike.
"I just miss him, that's all." Mike said.
"I know. I just wish that your dad was still here to meet Terry. Just so you know, he's looking down at us right now and he's watching over her." El said.
"Or he's in heaven right now just asleep in his La-Z-Boy." Mike said jokingly.
"And speaking of your mother, she's coming over with Holly today." El said.
"Aw, man. Did you have to mention that? You know she's gonna end up spoiling Terry. She probably anxious to kidnap her." Mike said as he got up from off of the couch and made his way into the kitchen.
"She's attached to her. You mom missed having babies around." El said.
"She has Holly." Mike said, grabbing a Rice Krispies Treat and opening the wrapper before eating it.
"Holly is 16 and a sophomore in high school." El said.
"God, you had to mention that too. It's bad enough that mom told me that she's dating this boy in her class. What's his name? Brian?" Mike asked.
"Ryan." El corrected Mike.
"Right, Ryan." Mike said.
"Hey, don't go acting like the overprotective brother." El said.
"Well, Hop was overprotective of you when you and I were boyfriend and girlfriend and yet he still is." Mike said as he ate his Rice Krispies Treat.
"Relax. It's not like Hopper is going to come after you with a shotgun." El said as she moved closer towards Mike.
"El, he threatened to shoot me with his gun if I hurt you. I tell you, he's crazy. He's…" Mike said until he was cut off by El's lips pressed against his.
Mike kissed El back while the pretty brunette smiled through the kiss.
"Well, that's one way to shut me up." Mike said.
El giggled as she continued to kiss Mike. Mike draped his arm around El's waist, holding her body close to his while she ran her fingers through his hair.
"Mike…" El said as Mike started to kiss her neck, making her moan softly.
"Hmmm?" Mike asked while he sucked on El's neck lightly.
"You're about to start something that you won't even finish." El said.
"Good, because I've been having a hard day of working and I miss seeing your pretty face." Mike said.
"You do realize that I just had a baby and you're trying to get a little action?" El asked.
"Maybe." Mike said.
"Michael Wheeler, you are being a bad boy." El giggled.
"Oh, yeah. Well, maybe I want to…" Mike said.
But before he could finish his sentence, Terry starts crying loudly from her nursery.
"I should go check on her." El said.
"I'll go with you." Mike said, following El as Terry continued to cry.
They made their way upstairs and headed into the nursery as El walked over to her crib to check on her.
"Hey, Terry. What's wrong, sweetie?" El asked as she picked up Terry to check on her. "She's wet. Looks like somebody needs a new diaper."
"I'll change her, El." Mike said as El passes Terry over to him.
Mike walked over to the changing table and laid Terry down before changing her diaper.
"Okay. I'm about to give you a fresh, new diaper. So whatever you do, don't pee on me." Mike said, removing the wet diaper from off of Terry, disposing it in the trash. Terry cooed a bit as El handed Mike a new diaper after he cleaned her off with a baby wipe. "Baby powder, please."
"Sure thing, daddy." El said as she passes Mike the baby powder. "Make sure you don't put too much on her bottom."
"Don't worry, I won't." Mike said as he puts a little baby powder on Terry's bottom. Once he puts the fresh diaper on her, she's good to go. "There. All done."
Mike picks Terry up and kisses her on her forehead before smiling at her.
"Awww, look at her. I can't believe that she's ours." El said.
"I know." Mike said.
"You're a great father, you know that, right?" El asked.
"Yeah. And you're a wonderful mother with superpowers and you're also a badass too." Mike said.
"Michael! Language." El exclaimed.
"What? She's two months old. She won't understand that word." Mike said.
"Which means you, Lucas and Max have to watch your mouths in front of her. Especially Dustin." El said.
"Fine. We'll watch what we say around Terry." Mike said.
"Promise?" El asked.
"I promise." Mike said as El smiled at him and gave him a kiss before looking at Terry.
"You know, one of these days, we'll get her a baby brother or a baby sister." El said.
"Let's wait until she gets older, then we'll get her a baby brother or a sister." Mike said.
"I love her so much, she's so precious." El said, stroking Terry's head gently.
"Yeah. She'll always be our little angel." Mike said.
