(How old are you.?) Brooke asked. As she got up from the table and walked over to where he was.
Lorenzo hesitated before lifting up three fingers.
(Daddy!) Lorenzo called out. Rushing over to Lucas. And shielding himself.
(It's okay Ren. This is Brooke Davis. She's going to be staying with us for awhile.)
(Grandma Karen is best friends with her mommy.) Lucas explained.
It was then that Lorenzo waved to Brooke before rushing upstairs.
Brooke gazed up at him. (So you're a dad. That's normally something people mention.) She said.
(Yeah it's well known amongst my friends. And my family. You aren't under either category.)
(I meant what I said about staying out of each other's way while you're here.)
(I don't need an influence like you around my son.) Lucas explained.
Brooke rolled her eyes and laughed.
(You're 19 which means you had him in high school.)
(You aren't this straight laced follow the rules guy. You're flawed.)
(I am too. Relax I won't tell anyone.) (If you would stop judging and put the guard down just a little you would see we are more alike then different.)Brooke replied.
Lucas's eyes went wide. (We couldn't be opposite. My personal life a private.)
(,You crave attention and validation from anyone who will give it to you.) Lucas proclaimed.
(I don't why I keep trying to connect with you. You want us to be strangers. Great.) Brooke replied.
Pushing past him as she went upstairs.
Lucas sighed deeply. He just needed this year to end and for Brooke Davis to be a distant memory.
(Are you finally moving on from Lindsey.?) A voice asked.
Haley James Scott. Entered the Scott kitchen through the back door.
(I get the feeling you and the new roommate aren't getting along at all.?) Nathan questioned.
Entering the house and going to stand beside his wife.
Nathan and Lucas were a year apart.
Haley and Nathan lived in campus housing.
With no kids of their own they had the young adult life Lucas envied.
Even though he would never admit that.
(We don't get along. She's going to be here for months.)
(Can't she enroll in college where the two of you are and live the campus.?) Lucas questioned.
(Luke she can't be all that bad and you know you can be judgemental and hold people to standards that are impossible to reach.) Haley replied.
(Plus Brooke was expelled so no college will touch her especially here.) Nathan added in.
