It had been a couple of days since Lloyd had freed Pythor from his tomb, that was a huge mistake which ended with Pythor betraying him. Now he was living in the Destiny's Bounty with his uncle and the ninja. The ninja put up with him Lloyd could tell they didn't enjoy having him around after what he unleashed the Hypnobrai, the Fangpyre, and later Pythor. But he didn't care he was Lloyd Garmadon son of the evil Lord Garmadon, and future dark ruler. He didn't care that he was kicked out of Darkleys Boarding School for Bad Boys or that his Mom never came back for him. Lloyd couldn't even remember what his mother looked like when she abandoned him. He knew no one besides his father cared about him, and he was fine with that.
Now all he had to do was find something to eat without anyone noticing this should be easy for him all of the Ninja and his Uncle were asleep after all.
Nya was on the bridge of the Bounty working on her Samurai X while the others were asleep, her being Samurai X was something she was plannjng on keeping a secret. Suddenly Nya stopped and hid her blueprints when she heard a door creek up followed by the pitter-patter of little feet walking. Nya groaned she realized this was Lloyd what was the little brat doing up so late anyways? Usually kids his age were already in bed asleep.
"What are you doing?" Nya asked as she glared at Lloyd who was trying to sneak past her but failed miserably. What did this brat even doing trying to sneak around? He better not be trying to prank her. "Answer the question brat. What are you doing?"
"N-Nothing." Lloyd quickly said, Nya glared at Lloyd she could tell he was lying what was this brat actually doing up?
"You aren't going to prank me?" Nya asked still glaring at Lloyd.
"No of course not." Lloyd stated. "Kai and Jay are much more fun to prank anyways." Hearing this Nya couldn't tell if she should be happy that she wasn't one of Lloyd's targets for his pranks or worried that her brother and boyfriend were this brats main target for his pranks.
"Than what are you doing up so late?" Nya asked not trusting this brat not after everything he did. "Shouldn't you be asleep?"
"Shouldn't you be asleep?" Lloyd asked which caused Nya to glare at him even harder.
"Tell me now or else." Nya sternly told Lloyd making him gulp nervously.
"I was hungry so I was going to see if there was any ..." Lloyd spoke but was quickly interrupted by Nya who knew what he was going to say.
"See if there was any candy." Nya said with Lloyd nodding. "You got up out of bed just to find some candy?"
"Yes." Lloyd nervously told Nya.
The kid who unleashed the Serpentine, burned down the monastery, and was the son of Lord Garmadon. Had snuck out of bed just to get some candy, maybe this little brat wasn't as evil as Nya thought he was.
"Well we don't have any candy." Nya lied Jay had candy but she wasn't going to tell Lloyd and have to deal with this brat having a sugar rush. "But if you're hungry, I think I can make you something to eat." Nya told Lloyd who looked at her confused.
"Wait you aren't going to punish me?" Lloyd asked which stunned Nya. Punish him? Why would she punish him for wanting something to eat, why would he even think he would be punished for wanting something to eat?
"Why would you even think that?" Nya asked concerned about why the brat was worried about being punished, and than it hit her Lloyd had been raised in a boarding school that taught kids to be evil, forms of child abuse definitely happened in a place like that.
Nya had never really looked at Lloyd at most just glancing down at him, but now she could tell he was malnourished she could see that Lloyd was extremely skinny too skinny she could see his bones. Nya started to feel bad for calling this child a brat. Sure he was one, but he was just a kid, a kid who seemed to never have anyone care for him. A kid who believed that only his father loved him, Lord Garmadon who was the most evil person in Ninjago.
"Kid I promise no one in here will punish you for being hungry." Nya told Lloyd in a soothing voice that sounded almost motherly. "Now how about I get you something to eat."
Lloyd followed Nya to the dining room of the Bounty once there Nya told Lloyd to sit down while she got him something to eat. After two minutes Nya came back and handed Lloyd a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lloyd looked at the sandwich and took a bite of it. He loved it, and Lloyd had ate the entire thing.
"This was great." Lloyd smiled with peanut butter and jelly on his face.
Nya couldn't help but giggle, seeing how much of a messy eater Lloyd was but a part of it also made her wonder how hungry was he is he ate his food that fast?
"Earlier you said you thought I would punisg you." Nya looked at Lloyd still concerned about what he had said earlier. "Did anything happen at Darkleys?"
"Yes they locked me in a room for five days." Lloyd said as if it was the most normal thing, however Nya could feel her heart break they locked him in a room for five whole days.
"Why would they do that?" Nya asked as she could feel her heart breaking.
"I was hungry so I ask for some food, so my teachers got angry, and than they hit me before locking me in the room." Lloyd told Nya who felt her heart breaking that was beyond cruel locking a child up for wanting something to eat. If she ever got her hands on those teachers she would kill them all of them.
"Was this why you ran away?" Nya asked.
"I didn't run away, I was kicked out they told me I wasn't evil enough." Lloyd stated They said I lacked the amoral ambition to be one of tomorrow's masterminds." Hearing this Nya was at first shocked but thinking about it, it made sense the most Lloyd had done was steal candy. Sure he unleashed the Serpentine but he just used them to steal more candy.
"Why didn't you try to find your mom, I'm sure she's worried about you." Nya asked wondering why Lloyd didn't try to find his mother it would have been smarter than living on the streets.
"I don't remember her, she abandoned me at Darkleys when I was little." Lloyd stated.
Nya felt her heart shatter his mom had abandoned him, she wondered what type of horrible woman would do that. If Nya ever met Lloyd's mother she would need an extremely good explanation why she abandoned her son at a school that taught kids to be evil.
"Nya, what's a mom?" Lloyd asked curiously. "I know my mom dropped me off at Darkleys but what is a mom?"
Nya didn't know what to say she has been raised by Kai, her parents had left them when they were little, but seeing Lloyd really wanted to know Nya tried to think of the best answer.
"Well a mom is someone who is supposed to love you, take care of you, and make you feel safe." Nya told Lloyd. "Something it seems yours failed to do.
"Oh." Lloyd sighed dissapointed. "I wish I had a mom."
"Well you might not have a mom, but you do have something just as good." Nya told Lloyd who looked at her curiously.
"What is it?"
"A big sister." Nya said as she hugged Lloyd which Lloyd wasn't expecting, he felt safe as Nya hugged him. "Now let's get you to bed." Nya said as she carried Lloyd off to bed, when they arrived Nya carefully tucked Lloyd in and watched him fall asleep almost instantly.
"Good night Lloyd." Nya said quietly this was the first time she ever said his name. "Your big sister will protect you." Carefully leaving the room to not awake Lloyd.
Nya smiled realizing that in less than an hour the she had gone from seeing Lloyd as nothing but a brat to unoffically adopting him as her little brother.
