Trigger Warning: This chapter deals with child abandonment. Don't read if that will traumatize you. It doesn't go into much detail but still.
Gus drove his ship around, desperate to find Wally, when he made it to another planet, he saw a silhouette of a Monkey. He smiled and rushed to it.
"Um, Gus, that monkey looks too tall to be Wally." YAY OK told him.
"I can't take any chances." Gus parked, when he heard crying, but it sounded too soft and feminine to be Wally's. He saw a monkey who was a soft orange color and she was in a tattered green dress. "Mam? Are you okay?"
"Who are you?" She asked as her Emerald eyes stared at his lemon eyes.
"Gus Monkey." Gus patted her shoulder.
"Gus…" She mumbled. "What do you want?"
"I was looking for my brother." Gus sighed. "Do you want to go to my ship? You look hungry."
"Yes, please." The female monkey nodded. The two went inside the ship.
"First, how about you take a bath?" YAY OK covered his imaginary nose. The monkey went to the bathroom to clean herself up. When she walked out, she was wearing a green robe and her hair was wet and clean.
Gus looked at her, she looked beautiful. Usually Gus would be ready to ask for this girl's number, however something about her made him not want to flirt with her at all. Nothing about her seemed negative, just familiar.
"How did you get here?" Gus asked, concerned.
"When I was four years old… I had two parents, but mom wasn't very loyal to dad. When I was born, he assumed I wasn't his daughter. Maybe I wasn't. He never hurt me, but he didn't play with me much. Looking back, every time he smiled at me it seemed forced." The monkey continued
"He didn't love you?" Gus asked.
"He didn't… I doubt he ever did." Her head sank. "Eventually my baby brother was born. Sweet little guy. Wish I could remember his name. I loved the play with him and carry him in my arms. But one day… My dad told me to never play with him again. He didn't want me anywhere near… his son, his only child. But I continued playing with my brother behind dad's back, or so I thought."
"What happened?" Gus asked.
"In my sleep, my dad dragged me to an escape pod and drove me to a distant planet. When I woke up I was confused. I begged and pleaded with him not to leave me behind, but he didn't say a word and drove away. I lived here, but I didn't have much." The monkey shivered.
Gus and YAY OK were in tears as their faces wrinkled.
"That… That's the saddest story I have ever heard!" Gus whimpered. "You're staying with us, no arguments!"
"Oh, okay." The taller monkey smiled softly. "My name is Ginger."
"Ginger…" Gus pondered. "Nice to meet you, do you want some bananas?"
"Yes." Ginger licked her lips hungrily. Gus took her hand and dragged her off.
"Could she be…" YAY OK looked at the two. "Nah, all monkeys look the same to me.
