Author's Note: Hiii, everyone! I've got a new little Apex Legends kinda story!

I have felt dolls of all the Legends and like to think they can come alive like toys in some other franchises. That's been a favorite trope of mine for a while, and I like to think about it a lot.

I've been wanting to write a little Fusehound story about my dolls ever since Fusehound became canon, and I love them together so much. So, here's a little drabble. It's inspired by a song on one of my playlists.

Enjoy!

Bloodhound's eyes opened slowly as they came into the world of the waking, their eyes blinking ever so slowly. When everything came into focus, Bloodhound looked in front of them and then looked up to the ceiling.

They were in a room in a house, a human sized one. But this version of the hunter was a small felt doll, one made by a young man named Helios with a love for the Legends. They were made quite some time ago, and though they didn't seem like much, they carried all the personality of their namesakes.

Bloodhound realized they were lying down, on the large human sized bed Helios slept in. He sometimes laid his dolls in little rows in the bed with him, and Bloodhound rested on the end of one row. They looked to their left to see the other felt Legends all resting peacefully…

Except that one of them was missing.

Bloodhound pushed themself to sit up, and they looked over everyone and did a quick count. They then realized who was missing. "Walter," they gently called out.

No response.

Bloodhound carefully got to their feet, trying their best not to disturb the sleeping Horizon next to them. Their eyes scanned around the room for their partner, but Fuse was nowhere to be seen. The hunter pursed their lips together, trying to keep calm even though they knew they wouldn't for long. "Walter, where have you gone?"

"Looking for someone, Hound?"

A voice had Bloodhound turning on their felt heels to see Wraith sitting up from her spot in the middle of all the other felt Legends. The hunter quietly asked, "Renee, did you see where Walter went?"

Wraith nodded, her blue eyes half closed in weariness. "Yeah, he woke me up a little bit ago. He told me to let you know he went into the big kitchen. I guess he figured you would notice if he was gone after a while."

Bloodhound let out a breath they didn't realize they had been holding. "Takk, Renee." They thought for a moment. "Did he say why he left for the kitchen?"

A shake of the skirmisher's head was given. "Nope, all he said was to tell you where he was going in case you woke up."

This made Bloodhound squint under their mask, but they nodded to her. "Thank you, Wraith. I will return. Rest well, felagi." After this was said, Wraith nodded and Bloodhound moved across the pillows, onto the blanket, and climbed down said blanket to the floor. They weren't sure why Fuse had left the human sized bed, but they would be sure to find out.

Bloodhound could hear the sounds of their felt feet brushing against the tiles, then onto the hardwood as they moved into the living room of the human sized house. The tracker looked up to the high ceilings, seeing faint lines and shapes in the darkest parts of the room. Two small lights lit up a space in front of the fireplace, as everything else was draped in the dark. There were small movements from dust floating through the air, but all else was still.

The lack of any other movements in the room worried Bloodhound for just a moment. There was no sign of Fuse and that made them think he could be in trouble. The dogs could have gotten to him, or maybe he had fallen into a trash ca–

Wait–Didn't they have their scanner?

Bloodhound realized this and looked down to the small silver felt piece on their arm. They pushed it down and a wave of faint red light bathed the area in front of them. It traveled to the kitchen around a nearby wall, and that was when the hunter's eyes went wide.

Fuse Detected

Hound made their way across the living room and looked around the corner of the wall separating the rooms. Up on one of the counters, the longest one with the coffee maker and toaster, among other things, was Fuse. He seemed to be on one knee and fiddling with something in front of him. Bloodhound let out a small huff, before their feet began to move again.

Fuse tapped on the large square in front of him once again, before standing up and dusting his pants off. "There we go, looks good!" He chuckled.

"And may I just ask what is looking so good, Walter?"

That voice made Fuse turn on his heels and he looked to see Bloodhound at the end of the counter, seeming to have found their way up using the boxes he had used too. Fuse smiled and waved. "There ya are, love! I've been waitin' for ya!"

Bloodhound trudged over to Fuse, and his hand fell back to his side as they did. "Walter Fitzroy, what are you doing out here this seint? Are you not afraid we could be caught?"

Fuse shook his head. "No, not particularly. I made sure to be quiet enough so none of the dogs or Helios' family wake up."

Bloodhound crossed their arms over their chest. "That is besides the point, Walter. What are you doing out here? I did not see where you went and…" They stopped for a moment, looking away. A soft tone took their voice and they curled in a bit. "I was worried for you, mitt love."

A golden felt hand moved to one of their arms and the hunter looked up to the explosives expert as he reached them.

"Sorry, love. I didn't mean to worry ya," Fuse apologized, taking one of Bloodhound's hands in his. "I wanted to surprise you with a lil' somethin'."

Bloodhound huffed a bit, but felt him gently pull their hand. They looked up and saw how genuine his expression was. They let him guide them to the middle of the counter, placing a kiss to their hand and letting go. The hunter watched him tap on the large square on the counter, and that was when soft music began to play. Then, the vocals sounded out.

"City lights, looking like ice underneath the stars.

Beautiful, but I'd rather be right here where we are."

Fuse walked back over to Bloodhound as they listened, and bowed his head with his hand held out.

"Go and tell your friends, we're running late again.

What you think? Pour another drink and call off the car."

"Care to dance, love?"

Bloodhound could hear something gentle and kind in Fuse's voice, and they felt their hand move up to his.

"I could spend a thousand nights right here inside this room."

Fuse carefully put one of his hands on Bloodhound's side, and he felt them put their hand to the back of his neck. Their free hands connected, and he looked down at them, his eye meeting theirs through their goggles. "Follow my lead, okay?"

The hunter nodded.

"Swear the only one I want is you,

And it doesn't matter what we do.

We could have nothing at all

And it'd still feel like nothing's missing."

Bloodhound put their foot forward as Fuse put his back, before they began to move in a slow circle. The music rang through the air very quietly for the hearing of a human, but for the Legend dolls, it seemed to envelope them and the room. There was a sense of peace between Fuse and Bloodhound as they shifted in their slow dance, and the explosives expert couldn't help but smile.

"Now we're moving like we're on the moon

Dom Pérignon drip on our shoes

We could fly around the world

But we always end up

Dancing in the kitchen."

Fuse looked to Bloodhound as they took their hands away from his. They moved their hands up to their face, removing their mask and goggles and setting them down on the counter. The tracker then took Fuse's hand back into their, a wide grin crossing their face.

"Dancing in the kitchen."

The steps the two took were slow, steady, and full of a sentiment they couldn't describe.

"I don't mind if this whole town goes up in flames

As long as I got you with me, I'ma be okay

Slide across the floor, I'm forever yours, yeah

What you think? Pour another drink, put it on repeat"

Fuse carefully dipped Bloodhound back and placed a kiss to their lips. They seemed a bit surprised by this, but returned the gesture happily. They relaxed into his touch and beamed as he pulled them back onto their feet. Hound found themself moving to lay their head against his chest as they continued their dance.

"I could spend a thousand nights right here inside this room"

Fuse looked down as Bloodhound let out a content sigh. "You doin' alright, love?"

They nodded and answered, "I'm more than alright, Walter." They chuckled softly. "Thank you for this, elskan. I was worried for you, but I see you were only trying to do something for us." They looked up into his chocolate colored eye and their smile seemed to get wider when he showed the same love in his grin. "Gerðu það, tell me you're going somewhere next time. I was just afraid something happened to you."

Fuse nodded. "I understand, Houndy. I didn't mean to worry ya, but I know better now. And I promise, I won't try to worry you like that again. I'll be sure to let you know next time."

The song continued for a few more moments, and when it ended, Fuse held his partner close and kissed the top of their forehead. He looked down when the returned their gaze to his and he asked, "How about a couple more songs before we head back to bed, Houndy?"

Bloodhound couldn't help but let out a small laugh. They'd be damned if the way Fuse asked that didn't make their heart soar. They nodded and spoke with, "Of course."

And they danced to the next song Fuse put on. And the next, and the next, and the next. When the playlist had finally ended, they simply stood there, in each other's arms, a sense of peace between them.

When the time came to return to Helios' room, Fuse and Bloodhound walked back down the hallway, hand in hand, never letting go. They fell asleep the same way, knowing they'd be okay, no matter what happened.
