"I"m sorry Liv," Elliot had said when he saw her for the first time in ten years. He made the choice to move everyone that he loved, except for one person, to a different part of the world. Elliot wasn't even thinking about cheating on his wife of over thirty years while Kathy was still alive.

Olivia and he found themselves in the middle of an argument while exchanging text messages that afternoon while at their respective precincts.

Olivia: You were the one that I expected to have my back when different things were exciting times for me. And even in the dark times, I was hoping you would have my back. But you weren't here. You were in Europe with your family and I had no one.

Elliot: You had Don and the guys. I also know that out of the two of us, you were the one who was destined for greatness in the unit. Liv because of my love for you, I wasn't going to hold you back. I also thought that you would have been fine without me. I just wish that you would let me know what is bothering you when you are at work.

Olivia: I want to be able to talk to you about my day but I haven't been able to yet. I guess that I was wanting you to make the selfish choice and choose me and come to me for once. I would have and will continue to support your choices. That is why we are together, Stabler. We are a team and a pretty damn good one as well.

Elliot: My love, we've had this conversation before and have forgiven each other for the last 10 years. Let's go out to dinner tonight, please? Any kind of food that you want. It's on me tonight, because I love you, Olivia Benson-Stabler.

Olivia: Love you too. Let's go to our old diner for dinner and we can just enjoy each other's company.

While the two of them were eating, Stabler got up from the table and pulled her up from her side of the booth to dance. Another patron in the diner had requested that "In Another's Eyes" by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood be played over the loudspeaker. The two of them slow danced to the song, and when it finished, they sealed their night with a soft kiss to the lips and that was the moment that they knew that they were going to be together forever.
