It Was a frigid night, well as cold as it ever was for him. It still surprises him how much everything changes, 1000 years can surely change a planet. Vash the stampede thought as he walked down the street illuminated by the street lights.
It's a funny thought, just over 900 years ago, the very mention of the humanoid typhoon would cause entire town's to turn tail and run.
Even after hundreds of years he still enjoys the quiet life, most of his days now are spent in the wilds of vale tending to his gardens of flours, only rarely does he come to the city, sometimes it's to watch the people after the struggle humanity went through to survive this is a reward enough. But that's ancient history, tonight he only needs dust, dust to heat his cabin in the woods, and his destination.
Dust till dawn,
He walks in.
"Hey vash! Long time no see, it looks like you haven't aged a day since i last saw you."
"Nice to see you too, old man! How's the misses?" Vash responded as he leaned on the counter.
"You know, same old, same old, she keeps complaining about her back pain like i can do anything about it. Anyway, what can I do for you today?" The old man asked.
"Just the usual."Vash said as he placed the lein on the table.
"Alright, just give me a moment to prepare your order, feel free to look around the shop, I got some new merchandise recently you might want to take a look at."
The old man reached down and started to prepare the order.
"I'll take you up on that." Vash said, walking away from the counter.
Going to the back of the store he sees a young girl reading a magazine.
"Hello, little miss." He said with a goofy smile. Only to be totally and completely ignored.
walking to the side of her he sees her wearing headphones listening to heavy metal blasting into her ears
So he pokes her shoulder
She turns her head and takes off her headphones and looks up to him
"Uh hi?"she said
"You know, listening to music that loud is bad for your ears." Vash stated in a mock serious tone
"Oh-ok. The girl said beck as an awkward silence permeated the interaction
'Man this girl is weird.' Vash thought to himself.
"HEY HANDS IN THE AIR!" Yelled a thug
"Are you robbing us?" Asked the girl.
"Yeah!" He said as he stuck vash with his sword
"Hey we don't have to do that, after all i'm a lover not a fighter~"
"Shut up and hand over your wallet."
"No i can't do tha-" he didn't get to finish as the girl kicked him out of the window."
"Of course I got dragged into this."
Running to the store front he grabbed another thug threatening the old store clerk from behind throwing him over his shoulder knocking him unconscious
"You alright, gramps?" He asked
"I'm fine, go help that girl!"he yelled
Without responding he ran outside just in time to see that girl chase the last thug
As the rest were unconscious
Without waiting he ran up to the building and started climbing briskly up the ladder
Reaching the top
"End of the line red!" He watched as the last thug threw a dust Cristal at the girl without delay He whipped out his magnum and shot the Crystal as it left his hand.
Engulfing him and the bullhead causing it to turn and fly away
"What do you two think you're doing?"
Vash turned around and saw the most beautiful woman he's seen in 100 years.
Straightening himself he then began smartly began
"Well i was simply minding my business, when some ne'er do wells came and tried to rob me and little girl, naturally me being an upstanding citizen, I couldn't allow that to happen with the gallant aid of-" he turned and pointed to the girl "ruby"she said.
"Well, she did most of the work." He finished as the blond turned to him thinking tactically he made his move "you know i'm a master gunman, and i'm currently open to contracts, with my handsome face by your side you can rest assured that no harm will come to you."
The older woman stared in silence looking closely you can see her eye twitch
"E-exuse me. Can I have your autograph?"
